Stopped in to grab a quick lunch while working. And boy did I pick a good one today. Conveniently located parking on site. I went with a fried shrimp platter and it comes with 5 huge jumbo fried shrimp your choice of French fries or rice I went with fries perfectly cooked with the right amount of salt. And a 20 oz drink for under $9.00 you can't even go to McDonald's and get a meal that cheap!! Quality of the food watch top notch everything is fresh and piping hot. Would highly recommend this establishment

Meh. Nothing too great. Nothing I couldn't throw together on bread at home. Probably wouldn't come back.

The is my first review of November so I'm behind but will be catching up soon...lol But back to Mad…read moreCow I came on yesterday (11/9/25) around 1pm to meet up with some friends for Brunch. Usually with brunch we would do the bottomless mimosas and all but because I was driving I decided not to participate in that. And usually I would get chicken and waffles but I was in the mood for a burger. So I thought because their name is "Mad Cow" the burger would be the bomb...but nope it was not good at all. So I prefer a beef burger cooked medium with blue cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onions. When I burger got tot the table it was dry as a board. No blue cheese that I paid extra for and the burger was not cooked correctly it was cooked well done. Smdh. So the waiter brought me my blue cheese apologized about it and also gave me a mayo bottle. Even with the burger still was not good and the patty was so thick with no flavor not even salt and pepper was in it!! I tried their punch drink which was really good but for $15 a pop in a regular water glass was ridiculous. Make sure you don't get too tipsy as they already have like a 20% gratuity added on each of our checks no matter how small or big your group is which again is ridiculous! Will I come back...maybe only because I would like to try some Jamaican food they offer. But for brunch...it's a no for me!

I decided to give Mad Cow another try. I first visited when they opened and ordered the jerk tacos…read more(not sure if that's even on the menu anymore). Back then, I thought it was just okay. Today, I gave them another shot because Uber Eats was offering a buy one, get one free deal on the jerk chicken meal. I chose rice & peas with plantain for my sides. The chicken was cooked on the grill--which I love--because it really brings out the flavor in jerk chicken. I also requested my jerk sauce on the side since I prefer a dry rub style over a saucy one. The only drawback was the small bone pieces in the chicken and rice. That's something to be cautious about, especially if a child is eating the meal. The plantains were also inconsistent--some pieces were hard, while others were mushy. On the bright side, the coco bread was perfect and the Jamaican rum cake was phenomenal. Whoever baked that cake clearly took their time soaking it in rum. It reminded me of the way my grandmother used to make it--absolutely delicious. I would definitely order the rum cake again.

I love this place! It's small but cozy and the beautiful pictures on the wall of icons (ie Michele…read moreObama and Tupac) game it a nice vibe. I only ordered beverages but loved both of them. The dirty chai was the best I've ever tasted! Gold Star 100% top notch winner winner tea for dinner!!! I also got the Monkey Business cold frappe. It is a perfect blend of bananas, vanilla and cinnamon. Not as good as the dirty chai but still excellent in its own right! I left very impressed and wanting more.

"First, it will be her sisters. Stheno and Euryale. That is love," Diana realizes, even as she contemplates that, soon, the misty cave floor under her feet will be beset with violence, meted out by Medusa's sisters, before Diana even gets a chance to explain that she is trespassing in the hopes of obtaining for Medusa the ultimate form of social justice: permanent chances for her to "look other soul[s] in the eyes...and be seen." The Black female ownership, the management, and the staff at Love Life Cafe, a snug coffee house nestled at 929 Washington Blvd in Laurel, Maryland, are fully aware how being seen is intertwined with social justice, kindness, and customer service. Black artists' drawings and paintings, some of which are for sale, adorn the walls, including "Wakanda Forever," featuring Chadwick Boseman, whom the world heartbreakingly lost too soon to cancer; "Say Their Names: Black Lives Matter," featuring Sandra Bland; whom her communities bitterly lost to police brutality; and, in a hope-filled change of pace, "Looking Up at Greatness," depicting two-year-old Parker Curry's recognition and wonder at seeing Amy Sherald's portrait of Michelle Obama at the National Portrait Gallery in March of 2018. So far, my wife has enjoyed a life-sized latte with extra hot cardamom oat milk; a life-sized cafe au Lait with the same; an açaí bowl, minus the honey and adding kiwi, pineapple, and mango; and a life-sized Hollaback Girl latte. Meanwhile, I was thrilled to devour a banana, cinnamon, and vanilla frappe appropriately dubbed "Monkey Business."

An Italian and Jamaican fusion restaurant is such a fun, unique concept. Catherine's was really one…read moreof a kind! The interior is quite spacious and very nicely decorated. The decor accents are upscale and the dining room was SO crowded on a Sunday night - I didn't see one empty seat in the house! Booking a reservation is a must. They had live music and every member of the wait staff seemed polite, professional, and well put together. The restaurant does get fairly loud with all of the guests though. I tried the sorrel and it was spot on, very gingery and a touch on the sweet side. My family members and I also tried the Rasta pasta, the oxtail lasagna and the Ital Pot entrees. The entrees are a bit on the pricier side, but for most things, the portions are good. I'm a Caribbean who does not enjoy spicy food so I opted for the mild Rasta pasta but I think I could have upped it to the medium spice level - the mild was very creamy and cheesy, but lacked a bit of that signature jerk flavor. The oxtail lasagna was very cheesy and rich with a good amount of oxtail in between the layers, but I wish that the Jamaican flavors were more pronounced in this as well. I didn't try the Ital Pot personally, but the salmon that it came with was cooked to perfection.

I was able to get a sitter for my 3 littles, so I went on a triple date to try out Catherine's. We…read moremet my sister and her husband standing outside of the restaurant because there is no waiting area inside the restaurant. The decor is really cute inside and we were seated right away. My cousin and his girlfriend showed up shortly after and someone came to pour water. They let you know as soon as you're seated that there is a 90 minute time limit for the table and it starts as soon as the waitress arrives. We ordered lemon pepper wings, codfish fritters and jerk chicken bruschetta for appetizers. The wings were delicious and hot out of the oven. The fritters were good, but thin, and didn't have much saltfish in it. The bruschetta was nothing to write home about. For entrees we got jerk salmon, jerk chicken, oxtail lasagna, lambchops and 2 orders of braised short ribs. 2 people received their food at least 10 minutes before everyone else. If you're going to impose a time limit, your kitchen and wait staff need to be on point, or the timer shouldn't start until after everyone receives their food. The jerk salmon was very well cooked, but hardly seasoned. The oxtail lasagna was like regular lasagna, but instead of ground beef, they used oxtail and it had bechamel sauce instead of marinara. It was also very cheesy. It wasn't bad, but at $36 I would have expected more. The lambchops were out of this world. Very well seasoned and the gravy was finger licking good, but you only get 3 per order. My cousin didn't let me try his jerk chicken, but he said it wasn't bad. To note, a lot of reviews said the rice and peas weren't good, but we must've came on a good rice day because our rice was good. For dessert we got bread pudding, rass prince, tiramisu and flour-less chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was too thick and the texture of the mousse in the rass prince wasn't that great. The tiramisu and bread pudding were good though. This was the first time I've been to a restaurant where the waitress didn't come back to check on us mid meal. No one could order a second drink and we had to ask a random person passing about getting our water refilled. The manager came by before dessert to ask how was dinner and we had to ask him for water (since it still wasn't filled) and for a dessert menu. At their price point, I would expect better service, but since 18% gratuity (and 20% for parties bigger than 6) is automatically added there isn't any incentive for the wait staff to do better.
