I wanted a waterfall/opaque glass shower door because I did not want to see hard water stains and I did not want to have to squeegee the glass every time the shower is used in order to keep a plain glass door clear. The owner told me the plain glass doors he orders are coated and the water will repel and I won't have to worry about hard water stains. I ordered the doors the owner recommended based on what he told me. I have only had the glass shower doors a few months and they are completely covered in hard water stains and look horrible. I contacted this business twice and explained what is happening and asked if I got the glass doors that were recommended to me. No one has bothered to get back to me. read more

To echo another reviewer, the business administrator is incredibly condescending and rude. I am a local artisan with a large installment project looming and am calling around for estimates for custom glass cuts. I provided the details and specifics 6 days ago and she inferred that she would get back to me with the cost. I followed up yesterday and she seemed annoyed that I would do such a thing. The conversation (if you can call it that) ended poorly. A bad taste in my mouth. I am moving forward with the far superior Moule's Paint and Glass in Grass Valley and there will be much revenue coming their way rather than this pretentious small business. read more

I see I'm not the only one giving a bad review for G and H Glass! Since I have used them for over 30 years and had good results, of course I called them to replace several windows. To my disappointment their customer service and communication were not the same as it used to be. When I went in to express many concerns, Sherry and Brett only responded with what they did right. I went away feeling frustrated knowing it was fruitless to get them to listen to my concerns. I will never use them again. How sad that a business doesn't hold themselves accountable for customer dissatisfaction. By the way, I have never felt the need to write a bad review until now. read more

Cannot recommend them enough! I'd never been there but when Moule's Foothill Glass said it could be next week and $173 to get the glass for my woodstove I went to G&H Glass. I told him I ordered the wrong style and it was a high of 40 and I desperately needed to be able to use my stove. He told me it would be done same day and it was . And it was only $85. I was unable to make it before they closed but they left it outside for me to pickup so I was unable to thank him in person. I will never go anywhere else now read more

We took our very rare 1948 Mercury Woody Wagon into G & H Glass Co. to have all of the windows, felt and rubber seals replace two weeks ago and they did an outstanding job. Our car has never looked so good. They were fast and the job went without any problems the first time. We got quotes from two other glass shops in the area and G&H beat their prices and got the job done in half the time. We dropped off a broken picture frame glass requesting a duplicate be made. They said it would be ready in a week. We went back twice and called. Two and a half weeks later my husband stopped in to complain and they made it on the spot at that point. He brought it home and I picked it up carefully and immediately felt the glass cutting into my hands. It was razor sharp! In addition to that the glass overlapped the frame opening by a half inch. We brought it back to have them fix it and the lady said I must have run my hands up and down the sides or the glass slipped, or..... when I told her she should warn people to use gloves and the edges are sharp she said repeatedly "it's common sense!" She was so incredibly rude. My husband and I were shocked at our treatment. She apaologized at the end of the encounter but it was filled with insincerity. read more

Quoted a me totally ridiculous price to replace a window regulator in my car. I had the panel already removed and a new regulator. Receptionist come off like I knew nothing about cars. "Leave the car for a week" for starters. I moved here from the west bay and have found attitudes and labor costs in this town shocking. read more

From the first phone call where I was completely unprepared to provide measurements or know what I really wanted, they talked me through my needs provided several options, quoted pricing and offered professional advice to help me make a decision which in the long run better met my needs and saved me money. Worst customer service ever from the woman that answers the phone. She is abrupt, argumanetative and rude on two separate occassions. I let it go the first time as I thought that maybe she was just having a bad day. The second poor interaction caused me to think about my decision to use them. When I tried to give her feedback about how she was coming acrosss, she wouldn't let me talk. Kept talking over me and denying anything that I said. She was evasive in answering my questions. When I asked if she was the owner or just employed there, she told me she works for them, but when I then asked to speak with the owner to file a formal complaint, she changed her answer and said she was a joint owner with her husband. I have used this company in the past and have to say that Brett is kind, reponsive and does quality work, but at this point, it's just not worth it. Receptionist set a sour tone right from the get-go. I called and got 'hold please!'. Then when I asked about a window replacement, she said 'we're at least 3 weeks out'. So I said, 'OK, I'd like to schedule a service call', she says, oh we won't schedule it right now, he'll call you back closer to 3 weeks and tell you when WE can do it'. Well, folks, I have a job and YOU need to be flexible so I can schedule it around my work hours. You see, I am the CUSTOMER. When a company comes off like that right off the bat, I go elsewhere. read more

I was having problems installing glass in my old 28 Dodge when I finally had G&H cut the correct size for me. An excellent job in itself. I then found I had the wrong type of felt channels. Again G&H to the rescue. Had the correct ones the next day. All this after several days of dealing with "Antique and Classic Car' parts suppliers that never were able to produce the correct parts or advise where I could go to get them. I found the prices to be quite fair as well. I will definitely be returning to them for all future glass related needs. read more

I tried several glass companies in the Auburn to Roseville areas. Most in Roseville wouldn't come up to Applegate. I contacted Mouls Glass and they quoted me $2400 to replace 5 medium to small windows and one sliding glass door where the seals had broken in the low e glass. Mouls said they were busy and would be at least 6 weeks. I contacted G&H, they came out to measure within 4 days, they quoted me $1400 to do the job, they ordered the windows and came out to replace two weeks later. Nice workmen, quality job so far, even cleaned the windows. read more

We went with the local company as we always try to do. They seemed like professionals, but that means nothing when it comes to their product. We spent almost $1,700.00 for our shower, which was more than the commercial company, but as I said, we use locals. The install seemed great, but we payed extra for the water spot free treatment, and it was expensive. We thought we would never have to squeegee, but we were wrong. From the first day, the water spots were very obvious. We called G&S glass and said to wash the glass with vinegar and water, which we did, but it did NOTHING. Why should WE have to wash the water spots off of a "water spot free" glass? We recently went to Portland and stayed in a hotel ( for 5 days) with glass shower doors. Within minutes all the water repelled. It was so nice, so we asked for the maintenance guy who told us it was the "spot free treatment" that made the water repeal. Really G&S glass? WTF. So disappointed. read more

I am sorry to say that my experience with G & H Glass was less that positive. I had a couple of dual pane windows that had lost their seals, and I needed new screens on all the windows. They took forever to get the windows made, and most of the screens do not fit correctly. If you feel you must use them, ask for references, I wish I had. read more

I really suggest you avoid this business. Their glass installation itself may be OK (time will tell with our slider) but the service is terrible. Called first on May 3. They said it would take 2 weeks just to get an estimator out. After 2 weeks, I had to call them twice to set up an appointment. When the measuring guy finally game, he gave me an estimate of $439. He says the glass will be in soon. When the delay stretches past 2 weeks, I call. The lady office manager doesn't apologize for the delay, just gets defensive about how they've always been "up front" about delays (they weren't up front about the delivery delay). I get disconnected on the call, and when I have to call back, she doesn't apologize. There is a 3 week delay for the glass. When I call them, they admit the glass is in, but don't explain why they didn't call me about it. Finally, on June 13, the glass is installed: almost 6 weeks after the first call. Installer was not the friendliest service person, didn't smile. They sent me an invoice for $553, though I was quoted $439 at the estimate time. I have to call them about this (maybe my 8th call to them?). After arguing that the estimate should have been the higher price, the office manager finally agrees to let me pay the original, quoted price. This place is disorganized, late with installation and have bad service with a poor attitude. read more

I have used G & H Glass for many years but their last window replacements in my house were not up to professional standards. Young, not well trained workers were sent to do several window replacements. They took twice as long as I was told the installation should take. Their work was sloppy and when this was pointed out to the young men, their attempts at fixing the situation were unsatisfactory. After calling the office to complain, the receptionist said she passed on the information to the manager. I received a call several days later about my complaint. One of the untrained workers and another older G & H Glass employee showed up after scheduling an appointment. The older employee did fix one of the window problems but they also were not able to complete the work needed on the remaining 4 windows. I told them I would do it myself as they were incapable of cleaning the extra plastic seeping on the edges of my window frames. They left me their razor blades and some window cleaner as the windows needed to be cleaned again. I would not use this glass service until they can get competent workers who care about the job they do. I did not get this feeling from any of the employees who showed up at my house. Now, G & H glass wants payment for a job NOT WELL DONE. read more

we went there this week because the lower glass shelf in our Whirlpool refrig absolutely disintegrated in my husbands hands. we have had one on order with whirlpool for four months, and they keep saying the delivery has been postponed. we stopped at G&H to have a new piece of glass made and it may cost less than the whirlpool one! very accommodating. will be back after we get the glass. read more
