    Come on Travis =/

I just had a 13 WRX rebuilt and brought it to Snail to have it tuned October 2024. When I arrived the day of my appointment I was given paperwork to fill out, asking what mods I had installed. I filled it out very accurately and gave them my info (I spent my hard earned money to build this motor and be here to have my car dyno'd). I was later told I would be taken back to the dyno room. When I arrived Travis already had the car on the dyno I dont know how many hits in he was (its a far walk to the dyno room from the front of the shop) . He then got out of the car after a few more and told me he was all done, and that he had tuned for NO boost controller .... I then told him that my car DID have a boost controller from Grimmspeed and had to SHOW it to him... his response to me was " I do a visual inspection along with going off of the paperwork" ... what type of visual inspection is that? My car is now blown after no more than ~500 miles after tuning, very disappointed.

Snail Performance installed Stage 1+ with a dyno tune on my 2020 STI, and it was a phenomenal experience. The vehicle seems smoothed out with a little extra kick in power. Travis and the M45 team were patient in figuring out exactly what I wanted to upgrade and potential next steps. Their prices were very competitive and even better than most dealerships or independent mechanics. I definitely recommend. Thanks.

I did a lot of research before deciding on a place to have my car tuned. I'd heard a lot about Travis at Snail Performance and knowing he was a Cobb certified pro tuner who essentially specializes in Subaru's I knew I'd made the right choice. I made the two hour drive from the east bay to get to him and it was totally worth the drive. Travis works out of M45, a Subaru mechanic shop operated by Troy. The shop is full of Subaru's and every item you could imagine to fix and mod them. Travis was sure to help explain the process of the tune and asked me what my goals were. After explaining to him I wanted a nice linear power band with good power, he went to work. I got to sit in on the tune and see him work his magic. The car came out with 296/335 on 91 ACN. What's really impressive was the average power over a stock car. Average came out to 240/273 about 50-60 more HP/TQ average over stock. If you are looking to get your Subaru tuned you have to make the trip to see him. Great work.

Late post - Having my car protuned has definitely been something i've been planning for a while. And now that i have, my subie drives great, feels more fun, and sounds awesome! I'd like to thank Travis @ Snail Performance for the tune and M45 for installation of parts and taking care of my car. Had a positive experience with these guys and I plan to be working with them in the future for service & mods. Great customer service and highly recommend!

I scheduled dyno tuning with Snail Performance. My 2015 STI was tuned from another shop. But while it ran well it was having stumbling issue as it build boost around 2500-3000 RPM. Otherwise, my STI ran well during track day at MRLS. So I decided to give Travis a try as I have heard great things of him from forums, including a friend of mine, who was tuned by him two years ago. Travis recommended replacing the boost controller with the 3-port EBCS. It was installed within 30 minutes and off it went to the Dyno for tuning. Immediately, I noticed the stumbling issue is absent. My car's drivability is now better. Power comes on smooth and early. Power all the way to the redline. I also appreciate the improvement of the I mode of the SI Drive. I drive a lot on the highway so I use the I mode quite frequently for better fuel economy. It responds well to my input so passing is also improved in I mode I've seen overall improvement with my STI's daily driving performance. I will be back soon to upgrade the fuel injectors and get tuned for E85! I can't wait to test my car with the upcoming track day in Thunderhill. I'm happy with Travis' tune! Thank you Snail Performance.

    Car up on the rollers

So let me start off by saying I live in Reno, and it was more than worth the drive to come down to Auburn to have Travis work his magic on my car. My 2018 WRX is now running fantastic. It's a new damn car if you ask me. Pulls where it should and doesn't jerk around. With my mods he was able to get my car to a healthy 281 HP / 305 TQ on ACN 91. He was very responsive and helpful through the process and I was even able to watch while he did the final few pulls from their dyno bay. Their fan and exhaust setup in there is legit. It's not just a few shop fans blowing air. Total fan output is 22k CFM - crazy. If you are within a 200 mile radius of Auburn, I wouldn't bother going anywhere else. You're just throwing away your tuning money. Spend it where you'll get the most out of it.

Please give us a call at the shop so we can get more info about your car.

Can you tune for a blow off valve without compromising power or is that something you can't tune for? 2018 Sti all stock

you should start with a fmic that way you can tune for density

How much to install stage 2 on an STI?

Tuning and dyno time for a stage 2 starts at $500. For parts installs I would have to get you a quote from M45 as they do all the install work for us.

Involving and promoting other shops in your review while making accusations about our work is inappropriate and unfair, especially when those businesses were not part of the original transaction. Because of the tone and conduct in your messages, you will not be meeting with me or any of my staff on Monday or at any other time going forward. I will not tolerate being spoken to in the manner you have been addressing me. That would be the appropriate path moving forward. I wish you the best and hope you are able to resolve your concerns through another certified shop." keep in mind he's the one who contacted and showed up first . to multiple shops after I chose his competitor(s) haven't seen this man since 2024. Not even asking for free work or anything warranty related. After he did this whole act he must be called out especially as an adult business owner with a law degree like himself. My response; Michael Justis This response is exactly what I expected. Instead of addressing the workmanship concerns, you're choosing to label my feedback as malicious and shut down any opportunity to actually review the issues. What's inappropriate is refusing to stand behind your work when a customer raises legitimate concerns after spending around $7,500 on a full vehicle wrap and related services. My intention was simply to have a professional conversation and give you the opportunity to inspect the areas I mentioned. Multiple installers have already pointed out the same issues with visible edges and areas that were not properly tucked. That's not an accusation--it's a quality concern. Your decision not to even look at the vehicle or discuss a resolution speaks for itself. I will continue addressing the issues with another certified installer as suggested. Take care.

Auburn Detail gets 2 stars from me…read more I've used them twice. The actual detailing work on my boat was good, but both experiences created significant issues that cost me a lot of time. The first time, they left the key on after detailing, which drained both batteries. When I launched the boat, neither battery had enough power to start. I spent nearly four hours troubleshooting the issue - to his credit, the owner offered to cover the cleaning cost of my boat cover ($75), which I appreciated, but the lost time was far more valuable than the reimbursement. The second time, I picked up the boat and discovered that the mussel seal tag had been broken. That immediately voided my containment status and meant I had to arrange for a decontamination inspection before launching again. In my case, that required scheduling an appointment at Rollins Lake, changing travel plans, and spending additional time dealing with the issue. The decontamination cost is about $150, which the owner promptly offered to reimburse, but again, the money wasn't really the problem. The bigger issue was the time, inconvenience, and disruption to my plans. While the costs associated with these issues were ultimately somewhat addressed, the bigger problem was the time, disruption, and frustration caused by two separate, avoidable incidents. It felt like the impact on my time and plans was never fully appreciated. After these experiences, I've decided I won't be using Auburn Detail again.
