I took an OReilly house brand battery in for a check. It was bad and needed to be replaced. The battery sticker showed it was purchased in Jan 2024- so still under warranty. I explained that I had recently purchased the truck and the salesperson told me if I could find the receipt or provide the previous owner's phone number the battery would be replaced at no charge. Excited at the prospect of saving a couple of hundred dollars, I returned home and spent 20 minutes or so searching for the receipt and taking pics of the original owner's phone number. I couldn't find the receipt but, armed with a phone number and email from the previous owner I returned to the store. A different sales person then informed me that the warranty wasn't transferrable and I was out of luck. The original sales person was still working the counter and I asked why that person said I could provide a receipt or phone number to get a free replacement. "I don't know, warranties aren't transferable". I honestly expected to pay for a new battery anyway, but the mixed messages cost me a bit of time and frustration- I have other things I need to do. I would have just bought a battery in the first place had I known... piss poor experience and piss poor customer service. read more

Very poor customer service. They clearly don't care about their customers. It's happened multiple times, one person at the register and no urgency and about six working in the back. No one's moving as if they're really that busy back there. They just rather be in the back than helping a customer in the front. Another customer that was waiting said he had the same experience other times and that this is his last time to the store. I'm done as well. read more

This is the best auto parts store in the area. The manager Myndi and her staff are amazing. Ive been building cars for over 30 years and this crew has their stuff together. Store is always clean, stocked, and the counter people go out of their way to get you the part you need every time. I won't even try Napa or Autozone anymore. These guys smoke em all. You take a solid company like Oreillys and combine it with an awesome staff like they have in Auburn and you've got the winning ticket. Can't say enough good things about these guys. Called him with an unsafe situation after dark. Needless to write, I was a tad stressed. I told him what I thought I needed; he talked me through an even better, much safer plan, but it involved his personal efforts, and greatly inconvenienced him. He even gave 90 minutes of his time after closing! He knows I'm an out of towner and probably won't stop at his store for many future purchases, but he still saved the day and the family in distress. Once I entered the store, I was pleasantly greeted and asked if I needed any help, in which I answered "yes thank you" and told the store's assistant that I needed anti-freeze, so he made a suggestion which I purchased. The best part was he asked if I needed help, so he assisted me. He showed me my car's overflow container which still had some antifreeze and that I really didn't need much. I was so relieved and blessed I was shown compassion and was assisted when I needed it. I will definitely make this store my priority. read more

I will not return to this store until the employees are willing to wear masks, the minimum effort required to protect customers and their loved ones from Covid-19. My request is not political. I have a husband with a serious heart condition at home. They didn't care. They have small barriers in front of the counters and ask people to stay 6 feet back however, the barriers are not large enough and you have to get about 4.5 feet away from a clerk in order to use the debit card machine. There are also no plastic pane barriers. They have about 10 employees in the store and none were wearing masks the day I went in. If that doesn't bother you, you will probably like the experience otherwise; which is why they got 2 stars. read more

Well I was dealing with an emergency today where my car wouldn't start and I was trying to get a baby woodpecker to the Wildlife center because he had fell out of a tree. I have a jump starter so I was able to jump start my vehicle and called O'Reilly's to see if they could swap the battery out for me today so that I wouldn't have to worry about collecting all my tools and doing it myself, when I'm trying to focus on this baby woodpecker and keeping him warm. Well I spoke to Mindy who told me that they would not be willing to change out the battery because they're not allowed to do that because it said on their system professional installation required. Now I don't know since when three 10 mm bolts and one strap is considered a professional install. I told her that it was a very simple install and she still refused. She told me they were not allowed to do it, which I happen to know is horseshit because I used to work there and I've changed those batteries out in the trunks of cars before. I let her know that that was horseshit and hung up because I knew I wouldn't get any further help from her. By the way I'm pretty sure she is the manager. Well I went to get my tools out to make sure I could pull the battery when I got there and in the time that took to collect my tools, the poor little baby woodpecker died. He had hopped out of his little blanket I'd given him unfortunately. So when I get to O'Reilly's I talked to a very nice older gentleman who's told me straight up had he looked at the battery he would have changed it for me. This proves that Mindy is just a lazy manager and has terrible customer service who apparently didn't learn in the customer service class about giving the customer the pickle.. aka take care of the customer and don't leave them let them leave with a bad experience. I did not mention the woodpecker to these people however I am sincerely disappointed in their hindrance of my battery installation. Thursday night, my fiancé and I were driving home to Reno from the Sacramento airport with our 9 week old baby and really needed DEF fluid for our diesel truck. (The person borrowing our car while we were gone had no idea it was low and needed fluid so we were rather surprised when we got back from vacation.) Our GPS took us the long way home and every auto-parts store we yelped was close to closing. I called a Napa Auto Parts store and explained our situation, telling them we would be there a couple minutes after closing time (9pm) and the guy blatantly told us he would be locking the doors right at 9 and hung up. Although with my research I saw that this O'Reilly's store ALSO closed at 9pm, I still decided to call the store to see if we would be able to stop there. When I called the store, I spoke with nicest gentleman named David. Not only did he tell us he would stay open an extra 5 minutes for us to get to the store, but he also had the items ready at the store for when we arrived and made sure we had the brand we wanted. Once we arrived at the store, my fiancé ran in quickly and David even helped him bring the DEF fluid boxes out to our truck. Once my fiancé got back in the truck, he told me that David had mentioned he was going to be driving to Monterey that evening. We arrived to the store after close and David did not have to stay open for us but he did EVEN when he had a place he had to get to-- If that isn't excellent customer service, I don't know what is! We are so thankful for David that night and want him and everyone he works with to know how much we appreciated what he did for us! read more

The manager Stephanie thinks she knows everything there is to know about cars and is super rude over the phone almost every time I call O'reillys. She's rude to customers as well and has a really negative attitude all of the time. Honestly, this store isn't worth my time and I suggest to others to go to autozone right up the road. read more

The employees are down to earth people that actually talk to you like human beings. They don't follow some cliche customer service script so it is refreshing to actually talk to someone and not listen to some nonsense customer service script. Fair prices and the employees have good knowledge. Only problem is that I was sold a battery that was too small for my car and I was told it would be fine. Turns out it started leaking acid and became a problem. Just make sure to keep your receipts to avoid any issues with a product that may not be compatible. I had an emergency problem with the windshield wiper on my car. The wiper system on my car uses wiper blade replacements only. This is not typical for most cars. They took the time to help me figure out my car's system and helped me install the blade (at no extra charge). This was very helpful as it rained a lot the rest of the day.
