Yeah, once again I had to go to London's for a repair. this time was shocks and struts amongst other things for my aging Mustang. As usual, Rob was right there to answer questions and provide info. Came on Monday right when they opened. I am a travel nurse and was in town for the work weekend and my care started over heating on the drive down. They squeezed my jeep in and got me back on the road and home on a little over 24 hours considering I had a cracked radiator. Kind and hospitable humans, great service! I took my car here a few months ago because it was leaking transmission fluid. They charged me over $300 to diagnose (!!!) and said I was leaking in two places and quoted me well over $1000 to fix it. I decided to not get it fixed there and recently went to a different mechanic and asked them to fix the parts that London's said were leaking. The other mechanics said one of those parts (the expensive one) wasn't even leaking and I was quoted less than $200 at the other place. I'm so glad I went with my gut and did not let London's do any work on my car!! BTW other mechanics in town charge way less than $300 for a diagnosis. read more

DO NOT go to this shop! They may have been good at one point in time but the mechanics they have working there now are incompetent. They did an oil change on my minivan. I drove it back to Beaverton, and oil was leaking underneath the car for two days. The owner suggested I go to a Jiffy Lube to make sure they tightened the bolt correctly. He told me the mechanic said he "got distracted". Really?! There is nothing more simple than an oil change but they couldn't get that right. Either the bolt did not get tightened or he spilled oil and didn't clean it up. either way...terrible service! I decided to give them another chance...took my truck in to them for an inspection. I told them the emergency brake was not working properly (stuck). They charged me $165 to fix that, said it was repaired and working fine. That night I set the brake and when I went out the next morning to drive it guess what? The emergency brake was stuck again. The owner told me how to check it myself and I was able to temporarily attach a cable to make it release properly (the brake light stays on) but it was obvious even to me that that was not a permanent fix and that the cable could detach easily. They did refund my money for these events but if they hadn't I'm sure they know it would have created legal problems for them. These mechanics rely on doing repairs where the customer won't know whether the work is done correctly. AVOID THIS SHOP! They are incompetent and dishonest. read more

It took them a month to replace the belt and the stuff in the car would magically disappear. I drop my car there and my Gucci sunglasses was in the storage box. When I get the car I'm sure someone rummaged through my storage box and my sunglasses is gone. The labor cost is $600 so I can only assume the sunglasses are magical. Today come here again for new appointment and I just mention my magical sunglasses disappear from last service. Their front desk questioned me why I came back if I didn't trust their technicians and told me the door was there. I just mention my missing sunglasses and they want me to leave. I never slandered their technical staff I just praised this as a magical place. If you don't want to lose something and get better service, save money, PLEASE GET AWAY from this magical place. I have been taking my cars to London's for over 25 years and I have never been dissatisfied. I have had regular LOF and complete transmission rebuilt even had new engine put into a car. Again I have never been dissatisfied. They always stand by the work and the parts that they buy. I highly recommend them for whatever kind of repairs you need. If they can't do it they will tell you who can. When I have gone inside the office and shop are always clean and appropriate. They are friendly and courteous. I needed a possible fluid leak investigated in my Dodge Caravan. I also needed a signal light fixed and a hard-to-get-to third break light fixed. I brought my car in to make an appointment, and London's took it in immediately and fixed it that same day. It doesn't get any better than this. Had a problem with my car's coolant system. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They found the problem and fixed the issue, gave me call to let me know the current cost and asked if I wanted to have my overdue oil change done as well and gave me the quote for that as well. Here's how I got ripped off: I asked for a tune up. A tune up is spark plugs etc. (I'm not a mechanic) so I added that "I need a new air filter." The woman on the phone said that at my mileage I need a "glorified oil change." I said fine. If I bring it in at 730AM, it can be done in about ninety minutes. "I live out of town, so I need the car back as soon as possible." I was their first customer at 730AM. "I need a tune up, and air filter," I told the man at the counter. "I'm from out of town so I'd like it done as soon as possible." He said it may take longer if they find other things to fix so I said fine, as long as it's done that morning. So 9AM they call and say the "glorified oil change" was $195, and if I want the spark plugs and air filter that I need, it will be ~$700 and the car will be ready in mid-afternoon. "I was told by two people that the tune up could be done in a couple hours. And you didn't do a tune up? Now you want $700!" I said I'd pay the $195 and take my business elsewhere. The woman and man at the counter didn't take any responsibility, although the man admitted that "a tune up means spark plugs." I told them that I was very dissatisfied after being a customer for many years in the past when I lived nearby. While I chewed them out, a scared-looking pair of foreign students peered in at the door. Maybe now London's is only for OSU students who don't know any better. $195 for an oil change? I went and bought an air filter for $10, and I'll put it in myself. Then I'll find a mechanic who knows what a tune up is and doesn't charge $500 for it. The London's woman called a day later to apologize, and can I call her back? I guess it's my job to make her feel better. read more

I recently needed some work done on my car and a friend had recommended this place to me. The staff was very friendly and straightforward. The owner was there two of the three times I went in. I don't know much about cars, so I'm always worried I'm going to get ripped off when I go into an auto shop. But after doing some fact checking with various people, including my dad and grandpa, i found out they were giving me a good deal, so yay! They were very understanding that I wanted to check on the prices of things before having any work done, and didn't try to pressure me into having anything done that I didn't want to have done. All of the other customers that came in seemed to be regulars that had been coming for years, which is always a good sign. I did take one star off because they charged me twice in a span of 3 days for checking my check engine light. Overall, this was a great place, and I'm definitely going back if I have any more car issues. read more

I woke up one morning and went out to my car and it would not move out of park. Now, this has happened before so I had a feeling that the wire connection to my brake lights were out. This is a safety feature that automatically happens so that yo don't get rear ended because you break lights are not working. I was already 15 minutes late for work and was panicking about how I was going to get there. I called them and asked if there was a way to get it out of park and they tried to help me but my car was old and didn't have the new overrides that some cars have now. The owner asked where I was and he said "ok I need to get coffee anyway" He came and looked at my car and confirmed that it was in fact the wire. He connected the wire while I put it in drive and then he followed me to his shop were they replaced the wire for free in 5 minutes! Great service, super helpful and I only ended up 30 minutes late to work. read more

Very professional and helpful people. When my car broke down (cracked radiator) on a road trip, they were able to squeeze me in on a very busy day and somehow managed to get the car done in about 6 hours. They connected me with a rental car when the three major rental companies in Corvallis had none. I travelled the remaining 250 miles home with no issues at all and on a very hot day! London's is heaven sent. We cannot thank them enough for coming to the rescue when our son's car started acting up. We had no idea what was wrong but we knew that we had to get it fixed and fast. It was difficult for us to find someone that we could trust considering we are hundreds of miles away and our son needs his car to get to/from medical care, work and school. We did know from personal experience (we've owned a few older/used cars) that the work we thought it needed could be in the thousands. London's was up front about pricing, even let us know that some of the recommended service was not a safety issue and could be done later. They gave us their prices and encouraged us to call around. London's could've easily taken advantage by telling us that we needed to have everything done right away (especially since Mom was panicked to have the car fixed) but they did not. They were super polite every time psycho Mom (me) called about the car and worked with us to make sure our son's needs were met. They even guarantee their work for 2 years or 24,000 miles - simply unheard of!! London's will definitely be our go to mechanic moving forward.
