I called ahead of time to see if they could help me and the woman I spoke to was super nice and helpful. I walked in and there was a warm and Welcoming feeling you get from them. Just left this place, was out BMXing and came in for a rear flat repair. After they called me to pick up my bike, I noticed that my rear hub was loose. (How is it, the mechanic didn't notice this?!) I walked back in to ask the mechanic to fix it, as the hub was NOT LOOSE when I brought it in. I am a bike mechanic and I know that this is common and that it would have taken him literally TWO MINUTES to tighten the cone nuts. Instead he grumbled that he "didn't do it" and was suggesting charging me for fixing HIS MISTAKE! As I am leaving this review, I see others complaining about the same mechanic. Some with parts not working, some over charged, some felt that he and others were rude. If you are looking for a safe and competent mechanic, this is not the shop. Called before bringing the bike and they gave a quote of $60 for fixing the front wheel. We came in and before anything else, the guy said the bike needed a new pair. I asked for a quote of fixing but he ignored me and kept going on with selling the new wheels. Mind you the bike is almost new and it's not used on anything but concrete and asphalt. My teen -the bike owner- tried many times asking for the price of what the guy wanted to sell us, but got ignored every time. He wouldn't eve look at her and kept talking nonsense to me. I asked him to acknowledge my kid, as she's the one paying for the repairs (he didn't know that), and the seller told me he wouldn't talk to her but to me because I was the one paying. And that he had many clients to be kept busy by us. After that he walked away and we left confused and upset. I'm a big supporter of local business but this place is not customer friendly. As I walked in I see the guy that is working on the bikes and asked him if they fix flat tires and he didn't even look at me and just said No and looked bothered by the question. Then another customer walked in an immediately greeted him and was sooo friendly to him that just blew my mind. There was also this young girl that tried to help me but she got a phone call in the middle of helping me and she just left me standing there and forgot about me. I had gone in 2 times prior to my purchase since buying a bike is a big decision once you commit! The owner was very patient with my indecisiveness and I ended up feeling like I wasted his time since I asked a lot of questions and bought nothing. I did leave wanting a particular bike I saw but I wanted a different color. I went in the next day and I was ready to buy! He was so kind and took me around the shop so I got the colors and combinations I wanted. I was sad I didn't a certain shade of purple and when he asked me what shade I wanted, he went behind the counter and found it! He then pretty much customized and built my bike. The girl working the cashier was very knowledgable with the locks and help me decide what was best FOR ME. It felt very personable. Hes just ok- the only thing is he works alone. it took me over a month to get my bike back and my friend also a over a month. he kept saying come back...and then when we did it would not be done. Also as soon I got my bike back the paint started chipping off at the touch of anything and the breaks stopped working. I had to go back to him to get the original paint to do my own retouches. and fix breaks again...:( The first bike we ran into a BIG problem which was he didn't remember me paying him! I left without a receipt. It was 150 bucks. (kind of big problem ) He ended up giving me back my bick after a week or so of me searching for the receipt that I never got....because he was busy. I bought a used bike that needed some repairs, I walked in and the man in charge immediately helped me and showed me what needed to be done and was up front with the cost, which were very reasonable! He didn't try to upsell me on things I couldn't afford. Not only that but he also had it fixed and ready to go in a few hours same day. Bought my first Fixie bike from them yesterday and I love it! Since I was not 100% sure on what exactly I wanted except that I wanted a Fixie, the service was great. He took the time to assist me with the upmost patience and understanding. They listen to what you want, they don't try to push a specific brand, bike, product. It's all about you. Now that is great service. They also were quick in getting my bike ready for me to take on a ride. Now we all know there is always room for improvement in any business. The only thing I would recommend is greeting the customers a little more when they first come in the store, letting them know they see you and will be with you in a moment. They are friendly and awesome once you start the conversation so this improvement tip would help support that. I really enjoy coming here for multiple reasons; they're very organized, they know their shit, they're friendly, they have cheap parts if that's what you're looking for, they know the mid-range parts and won't try and up sale you on anything, they do on the spot repairs, they're just a 1-stop shop for anything and everything you'd need. Avoid this place at all costs. They are rude and scam you. I needed a bike rack and called them in advance to make sure it would work with my car. After purchasing, it did not work with my car. I called to ask if I could come back and get a refund and they said no problem. When I arrived, they claimed I hung up on them while they were telling me it needed to be in the box. It was not sold in a box whatsoever and they hung up, not me. I of course had to unwrap the plastic from it to try it on the vehicle. There was a little cardboard sign stapled to the rack that didn't even have the actual rack pictured. They claimed they could not refund me because it could not be re-sold since it was out of packaging. There was literally no packaging at the time of purchase. I only came to the store because they said the refund would be no problem. I went to a few other bike shops and all of them said this place is terrible and they never do business with them. I go for all my bicycle needs, they have a vast array of bike locks, many of which come with protective warrantees if something were to happen to your bike while it was locked up, I got my pannier there and it's huge and spacious and came with a poncho for rainy weather if I'm even caught in a pinch, as well as a cup holder for my bike! The prices are often better than the same thing I would find at a big box store and the employees here are helpful and knowledgeable. I've also had maintenance done on my bike and it was done quickly and for much less money than I was worried I'd have to pay. I love this shop! read more
