The 1st time I thought all went well, until when he had the car delivered, on the receipt was stamped 6 mos warranty! Well, after I authorized him to repair the transmission....he said that he would give me a 1 year warranty. When I asked him about the 6 mos warranty stamp, he said "no worries they made a mistake....I will honor 1 year." I paid him $3,200 for the job. WHO in their right mind would agree to only a 6 mos warranty after paying that much?! So, the car ran well for about 7 months, then transmission went out. I called him, and had the car towed back over there. He said that " you know it's out of warranty, but I will see what I can do". So now he forgets about what he initially told me! So, he kept my car for another 6 mos......dodging all of my calls, and making up B.S. excuses about why my car wasn't ready! When I got the car back he told me that he would not give me a new warranty! The car ran for another few months....then transmission went out again! Smh SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME! From the 215 Fwy take the 2nd St exit and head West to Hamner Ave. Take a quick left on Hamner and then a quick right 1780 Commerce St. enter 3 driveways down on the left. There is handicap and standard parking in front. I have been coming to J&A Automotive for over 20 years bringing all my vehicles in for repairs and maintenance and their work remains awesome. I always, always receive a friendly welcome which is so refreshing. I call ahead to schedule an appointment which works the best because they do get busy because of their great and honest work and pricing. They do take walk ins if they can fit them in. I have had situations where the repair would be a dealer warranty repair and they let me know. They always give me options and help me to get the best option. I went in for my usual Mobil 1 oil change that has normally cost me $89.95, only to suddenly be charged $130 -- over a $40 increase. I was told the price jump was due to the war and increased oil costs. Wanting to verify that, I called three local auto parts stores afterward, and all confirmed that oil prices had gone up only about $1 per quart. For a 6-quart oil change, that's nowhere near the extra $40 I was charged. To be fair, the service itself was still quick and efficient as usual. But using current world events as justification for what feels like excessive up charging doesn't sit right with me. Loyal customers deserve honesty and fair pricing.
