We began by ripping out existing plants, pavers, brown gravel, and artificial turf for both a putting green and a general use area. We started by building a pool (a cheap plug for Dolphin Pools who did an amazing job). After the pool was completed, the second half of the project was ready to begin. This is where Colorworks stepped up to the plate. I could not begin this without mentioning one of the owners, "Jon Hammel". Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. received rave reviews on Google and Yelp, so we reached out and were promptly scheduled for a complimentary estimate. Upon Jon's arrival, I could sense his excitement and creativity as he envisioned transforming our dream backyard into the upgraded space we desired. Although we had a plan in place, Jon skillfully incorporated his unique ideas, resulting in a comprehensive rendering of the project. We were immediately convinced that Colorworks was the ideal choice for our project. What truly set Jon apart was his unwavering honesty and thoughtful approach to refining our existing plan, ensuring that it reached its full potential. I want to clearly state that there are many stages to such a massive project. There are always going to be delays, and we had a few. Additional parts needed to be ordered, and of course, the weather did not always agree (lots of rain). Since our backyard is not the largest, every inch of the project required attention, and Jon fully comprehended that. The project included 3 large retaining walls, 164 Sq ft. of pearlescent travertine, 18 Indian laurel ficus trees with 6 tons of topsoil, 450 sq ft. of Daytona 80 0z turf, 4 stoned columns on a pergola, a wood accent backdrop for pots, and white rocks. This also included taping into existing irrigation drip, electrical lines, and reusing leftover pavers in other areas. Jon (along with our ideas) was the brains of the project, but Cesar Aldama is the contractor who brought it all together. Cesar, along with Ginato, is an excellent team. They showed up on time and worked tirelessly each day, and consistently cleaned up before they left. They always treated our home with respect, and we couldn't help but notice. Cesar is an expert in construction projects and possesses extensive knowledge in the field. My wife, being meticulous and OCD, wanted perfection in the job. Cesar meticulously coordinated with us on every aspect of the project, providing valuable advice on what could and couldn't be done. He is truly an artist, and we couldn't thank him and Ginato enough. The straightforward truth is that Colorworks fulfilled their promise! I can't forget to mention other members of the team that did amazing work: Jeff (owner), Mark, Manny (Turf installer and his awesome crew). Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. is an exceptional choice, and we wholeheartedly recommend it. It's one of the easiest 5-star reviews I've ever written. Gary and Terra!

We lived the first several years in our home with a yard we didn't like very much. We had a lot of outdated and impractical features, plants that weren't thriving, and a drip system that sprung a leak about once a week. My wife works in real estate and has come into contact with A LOT of landscapers, but Jose Gonzalez was the one she chose to come make our wish list and sketches a reality. It couldn't have gone better. All the old poly drip tubing ripped out and replaced with sturdy PVC pipe. All new rock, plants, planters, landscape lighting, trees, and lush new artificial turf. Absolutely beautiful stone and masonry work. G&S can do it all! And everything they did, they did quickly and well. So much attention to detail! A few years on now we get regular compliments about how beautiful the yard is- front and back! It's gone from an eye-sore to a place of Zen and relaxation. We look forward to spending time in our yard now, in a way we never have in any other place we've lived. Having a nice yard has dramatically increased the number of people we can comfortably entertain, especially in the beautiful Arizona Falls, Winters, and Springs. It's almost like we added square footage to the house. G&S wasn't the cheapest landscaper out there, but he was worth it. We've never regretted the money we spent having them come to totally refurbish our outdoor living experience. G&S is a great investment, and we'd recommend them to anybody. read more

I was struggling to get a response to my request for a backyard remodel until I reached out to Jose with G&S. I left a request for quote with G & S at 7pm and received a call back no more than 5 min later. Jose came out provided a quote to do stucco work, painting, and remove landscape around my pool and install synthetic turf. There was some obstacles as I was having my pool remodeled at the same time. Jose with G & S was amazing when it came to working around this and tackling the unforeseen issues with the existing drainage system. The communication was spot on throughout the project and that was very important to me, especially with all the changes. I would absolutely, 100% recommend these folks to do your backyard projects. G & S have treated my yard like it was their own--with quality care and attention to detail. And Jose himself assures all the work with his experienced oversight. We've had G&S do everything for us, from garden beds to concrete work, rocking, lighting, planting literally 100 shrubs and trees, to the point where our backyard is like a resort. Jose from G & S Landscaping along with his helper Miguel did a fantastic job on our block wall repair. Jose came out and gave us an estimate and his final billing was right on the money. Over the course of about five days they demoed the damaged 30 ft section of wall, rebuilt the new wall and painted to match the existing wall color. They matched the stucco texture perfectly and the paint was a near perfect match. They cleaned up everything when done. Jose was excellent at communicating when he and Miguel would be arriving to work, and was true to his word each time. G & S does a wide variety of landscaping jobs as you can see from their website, so I highly recommend them for all your landscaping needs. Before finding Rock Solid, I actually hired another concrete contractor because their quote was a little cheaper and they had decent reviews. Unfortunately, that decision ended up costing me time and frustration. The contractor never came out to look at the site beforehand and relied only on a photo I sent. When the slab was poured, it ended up several inches out of square and badly sloped, which made it completely unusable for placing a shed on top of it. Thankfully I was able to get my money back and have it removed, but the whole experience reinforced something many homeowners learn the hard way: the cheapest quote is rarely the best value. That's when I reached out to Charlie at Rock Solid Concrete, and the difference was obvious right away. Charlie came out in person to survey the site, explain the grading and prep work needed, and walk me through exactly how they would make sure the slab was square, level, and reinforced with rebar since it would support a structure. On the day of the project, Charlie was involved from start to finish. He checked measurements, supervised the crew, and sent photos and updates throughout the process so I could see each stage -- from forming and rebar placement to the final finish. The professionalism stood out. The crew respected the property, kept the area clean, and worked efficiently. Once everything cured, I checked the slab with a level and it is perfectly square and perfectly level, exactly what you want when placing a shed or structure on top. Charlie clearly takes pride in his work and treats every job as if it were on his own property. Rock Solid's quote wasn't the cheapest one I received, but after seeing the result I can confidently say it was worth every penny for the quality and peace of mind. I'll absolutely recommend Rock Solid Concrete and Charlie to anyone needing concrete work, and if I ever have another concrete project, he'll be the first person I call.

We did have an appointment set for a consultation at noon and at 12:40 ish I called him as no one showed up. He tired to reschedule for later that day at 3/4pm but that didn't work for me so he said ended up coming out within the hour. He also told me he wasn't licensed which is a huge liability for the home owner. We are doing an entire backyard Reno with a decent budget so it wasn't that our job wasn't worth while. I would hope though that communication would still remain open as a simple text message to update me would have taken less than a minute and much faster than the time you took to respond on here. - i'm not mad at all so I'm not sure why you put that in your response but when I was searching for other contractors, yelp, put your company right in front of me and asked me to review it. It wasn't something that I sought out. So I left an honest review of my experience. I completely agree with other contractors being licensed and having horrible reviews. Your reviews looked great, which is why I called you in the first place. Great craftsmanship/ reviews or not, a homeowner is still liable if someone on the job gets injured and that could have potential to ruin someone's life in a lawsuit. It Has nothing to do with the quality of work but just liability in general. The only thing that was questionable is how long you've been in business and are just now getting your license. That didn't really add up to me, but I wish you guys the best truly and sorry again for your loss

He arrived on time and he sent me a price within a couple of days. I know he's busy which tends to happen when you do good work so I told him, quote approved, let's make it happen! That next Saturday his guys did demo, gate door fix (our last landscaper did a shoddy job that Albert fixed for me), dirt and rock haul off, grading. Then couple days later, Monday his crews poured our driveway extension. Beautiful joint layout and great work. I paid 50% on day 1 and 50% after his guys finished. Professional level work too.
