It's not the first time we called L&H--we've used them before when we had issues with our furnace (our furnace is 27 years old but in excellent shape because we keep it well maintained.) We received a call back and were told that they couldn't find parts for a furnace that old and we would need to replace the entire furnace for approximately $5500. That was for a single stage Armstrong furnace. It would be more if we wanted to put in a two-stage furnace like the one we currently have. We called another shop for a second opinion and they came out and found some heater vents that were blocked, pushed a button to reset a circuit breaker on a blower fan (that we bought from L&H about 5 years ago!) and the problem was fixed. Total cost $80. The second repairman recommended we replace a flame sensor because it was slightly loose, but that wasn't a critical problem. He also said parts are readily available and ordered it for us to replace later. This is one of the parts L & H said was no longer available. We received a bill for about $200 from L & H. I called and spoke with them about what had transpired hoping they would (obviously!) waive the bill they sent us. They said they would take $50.00 off the bill and could not explain why they wanted to sell us a $5500 furnace instead of just pushing the circuit breaker button on the blower motor they sold us about 5 years ago. Even more amazing? L&H denied trying to sell us a new furnace. I repeated back the quote they gave us along with the brand name (Armstrong) and they STILL denied ever telling us we needed a new furnace. So, my experience with L & H was they tried to charge us $5500 while their competition charged $80 for the repair. Obviously we don't recommend them and have taken them off our preferred vendor list. Caveat Emptor!

They scheduled an appointment about a week out. The morning of, we got texts from them confirming the appointment and name of technician. He arrived in the time window, saw what the issue was, confirmed what he planned to do, and the price given by V & L. He worked about an hour, even adding a shut-off valve for no additional cost. Once job was approved, we paid on the spot with a credit card, technician giving a hand written invoice and an email receipt from the company. They promptly followed up to see how the job went. It went perfectly. If we need plumbing again, we will surely call them. I just wish they'd left business cards behind in case someone we know needs a recommendation for a plumber.

Used an AI assistant to do a cross-comparison of all the local companies who do this sort of work, (price, service, reviews, integrity, friendliness, timeliness, etc) and Mann Made was the #1 recommended. Called them from the road on my way driving home from vacation and explained the situation, and they made arrangements to meet me at my house less than 3 hours after I arrived home. Gino, their well pump specialist, was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and honest. Ultimately I ended up needing a new well pump (really can't complain- turns out it was the original one from when the house was built 32 years ago!) and I got an incredibly reasonable price and a crew of sweet, fun, kind, and professional guys who showed up 36 hours later to install the new pump. Gino, Kyle and Gavin were SO fast, did seamless work, and honestly, this was the best possible experience I could have hoped for. I have a laundry list of other projects I've been putting off and I'll be using Mann Made for all of them going forward. Special note to the ladies out there: Many times in the past I have felt taken advantage of when trying to get quotes from plumbers, electricians, etc...
