Graham worked on my 2018 Audi SQ5 and did a superb job. Like all turbo Audi's, mine was leaking oil but excessively. On top of that, the engine mounts were shot and the cheap (they don't build 'em like they used to) gaskets made of plastic, would only last for 70K miles. Graham made me feel at ease and explained all repairs. He came in about $1,500 less than the dealer for all that work. I hope I don't have to see him for a while but if I do, I will trust him. German cars look great and are fun to drive but they are expensive to repair and maintain. I probably will not buy another one. Chevy, Ford or Toyota for me here on out. read more

I took my 2004 Volkswagen GTI 1.8T there for some general maintenance and a checkup. I also had a bad right rear wheel bearing. Graham was great, and was happy to answer my questions and discuss everything ahead of time. They took care of an oil and filter change, and did an inspection of belts, hoses and the drive train. They replaced the bad wheel bearing, and sorted out an issue with my washer reservoir hoses. The cost was reasonable, everything was completed same day, and Graham kept me posted all along. Graham was good in the beginning and then became utterly horrible and rude. He scammed us out of $5k or more on our Jetta GLI and every time our car was brought there with the same issue he would say "I think it's this". Then proceeds to charge us thousands and the check engine light would come back 20 seconds after we pick the car up! We also got a serpentine belt replaced with him when he was on vacation and that was actually never replaced according to Pacific Volkswagen as we had to get it replaced there. He also replaced the spark plugs and coils as well as the railings for that area and replaced it with electrical tape!! He's overly expensive, rude, and sadly doesn't know what he's doing for being a Volkswagen specialist. We ended up having to take our car to the dealer as we noticed he charges just as much!! Unlike Eliza in 2010 I am taking the wife's SUBARU to Graham to get the brake fluid flushed. Yes, some vehicle maintenance schedule includes flushing the brake fluid every 30k miles. Although the fluid essentially is stagnant it does get compressed, as much as fluids like to be compressed, they can get contaminated. Why am i surprised taking an off brand to G-Imports? Excellent workmanship, honest pricing, communication, and he took care of our 2005 GLX manual 6 cylinder (one of only 10 imported into the US) until it had over 250.000 miles on it. read more

It was a Friday afternoon and the car was in Mission Viejo. Called Graham to see if he could get it in. Had the car towed to him Monday morning and Tuesday afternoon he tells me it's done. I called to ask what they charge for brakes and 4 new tires. They had me bring my car in straight away and called me with a quote within the hour. Graham is a genuinely nice mechanic. On my 2015 VW GTI, he's helped change my transmission fluid, and a leak from a defected oil gasket (which was done somewhere else). Today I came in for him to check my brakes, which he did free of charge. He told me I still have half of the brake's life left, but gave a low estimate if I choose to change them. A "necessary" repair of $2,300 at the dealership was quoted at $1,100 by Graham, and he determined it was actually unnecessary for at least another 10K miles (so no charge and no repairs for now). Full story: I went to the Audi dealership for a factory recall on my A6. When I dropped it off, I mentioned that the breaks had been squeaking a little. I got a call later that day saying that I needed to immediately replace my brakes and rotors on all 4 tires, costing a total of $2,300. I told them I would pass and called Graham at G Imports after seeing his positive yelp reviews. Originally on the phone, Graham gave me a quote of about $1,100 for the same repair. When I got the the store, Graham explained to me that mechanics at dealerships work on commission, so they will repair things when unnecessary. Instead of taking the $1,110 that I was prepared to (unhappily) pay, Graham took a look for himself to see if they needed to be replaced. He called me in while the car was still up and showed me how to tell if a brake pad and rotor needed to be replaced. He said that my car could go another 10,000 miles before I needed that repair. If you have a VW and you are not bringing it into G imports you are making a HUGE mistake. Graham knows everything about your VW. He will explain it in normal easier to understand terms. He doesn't push repairs on to you. He will suggest repairs and let you know if it is an urgent repair or let you know how much time is left till the repair is really necessary. I own an older 1998 VW and Graham has probably replaced 95% of the replaced parts on my car which is near 200k and runs great thanks to Graham and his crew. He also works on other German cars too. Brought in my vehicle to diagnose an exhaust leak. After a hefty repair bill I brought the vehicle back due to a audible exhaust leak. Was told, " yes you are right there is a leak but neither I nor my exhaust guy (Baja muffler, stay away from that shop also) can find the leak, we hear it but we can't find the bloody thing". The owner further goes on to say there was no reason for him to tear everything apart when he wouldn't know where to look... lastly I was told by Graham to drive the car longer till it gets bad and then we can find the leak easier. Meanwhile I'm out $980 and a second mechanic finds 4 leaks after having he car 2 hrs!!! says... there are 4 leaks, 3 at the welds that Baja Muffler did, ( the welds Baja did look like they were done by the blind, hence the leaks) that alone was $450 the last leaks was at the joint where they didn't replace the gaskets ( I even supplied G Imports with the proper new VW gaskets). They also don't use the VW procedures to tackle repairs... hence they had to cut off my tie rod end to drop the subframe to remove the header pipe.... the correct way is to remove the driveshaft... I discovered this when the new mechanic stated he wasn't sure how they even repaired it without removing the driveshaft. Stay clear of this place, they talk a good game but fail to deliver quality repairs. Then dodge their obligation to do what's right. If you value your Vw/Audi go elsewhere. read more
