Brought my 2007 BMW 328i for alternator change. Very reasonably price, excellent service, and work done in timely fashion. What impressed me most was that after one week the serpentine belt started to squeal. Omid and his staff was very kind to diagnose my car and repair it at no cost. I actually had the serpentine belt repaired with a new battery at a BMW dealership six months prior and probably would not have to go through another visit to repair the alternator if it was all done all at once at the dealership which in hindsight was indicated. Exemplary service! These 5 star reviews are genuine and I'm glad I went to Beach Cities Auto Clinic. I first visited this place with my friend who has AAA. If you have AAA you get 10% discount on services and the diagnostics is free. I remember that my friend was so impressed with them so I decided to give their shop a try since I was a AAA member also. I called up Claudia and she spent 20 minutes on the phone with me really listening to what the problem was. She informed me not to get an oil change that day as I was sitting in the Valvoline parking lot and the manager there (who she knew very well) was trying to sell me something that I did not need. Claudia was so thorough. She told me straight up that she could not get to the car until Tuesday of the next seek (it was Saturday), but told me if I would wait until then she would make me a priority Tuesday morning and get to the root of the problem. She did. She is a lady of her word. With prompt communication, Claudia showed me what issues were impacting my car (which components were impacted and what needed fixing). Claudia's transparency, honesty, and stellar character are so hard to find these days, and I am so grateful to her for her professionalism. Another Saturday morning I had a problem, called the shop to schedule an appointment, and Omid told me to come right over. After explaining my situation, he said he would look at everything, and told me he would call me. Man of his word. He called me, and offered best solutions. Omid was detail-oriented and very knowledgeable, taking the time to examine my car and diagnose the actual issues. He explained the safest option. And, he gave me the option to only fix certain things which would be cheaper, but I would have to return if the problem persisted. The team @ BCAC really saved my ass today! Almost got overcharged at another place this morning for the wrong issue entirely. I was told my battery was the problem & it failed their diagnostic test, turns out they were wrong. The AAA tow truck driver told me I needed a new starter & recommended Beach Cities Auto Clinic on PCH in hermosa beach. They replaced my failing starter pretty quickly (under 3 hours) and honored my Auto Club membership for a discount on the labor on the already fair quote. In addition to that, they cleaned up my dirty battery, filled it up with the missing fluid plus Tim rotated my tires and adjusted the air pressure on them all for free. Great communication and very friendly staff, all 5 I interacted with were nice. No funny business or scamming. Very informative with recommendations and not pushy upselling at all. Brand new remodeled and renovated building, office / lobby very clean and under new ownership. I would like to firmly recommend Omid and his staff. When I came in, I had tough situation where I was convinced that my battery was bad, but AAA could never find anything wrong with it. I had to be jump started a half dozen times. When I arrived at the shop, at the recommendation of the AAA person who was the last to jump start me, Omid very calmly asked me to explain the situations in which my battery died. He said to give him a couple of hours to check. He called as agreed and told me that he in fact thought it wasn't the battery but wanted to keep the car overnight. The following morning he called me to tell me that he observed the way the battery has lost voltage and it was the battery. One better, he also ordered the warrantied battery and by 11.30 am had my car back to me, new battery, washed car, and reset the car system, which was causing the car not to recognize the fob. I don't want to post what he charged but it was well beyond reasonable. I'll be coming back if anything else needs help. On top of that Omid is an interesting guy to talk to so if you do het stuck in his office while your car is being worked on he's keep you entertained. read more

I arranged a tow truck to drop off my van AFTER confirming they could fix my van. The tow truck showed up to drop my vehicle off. So I went in the shop to find out where they wanted it dropped off. FIRST THING out of the guy's mouth is "you need to sign an agreement agreeing to a storage fee if it's here longer than a week". So, I'm discussing this with him, and realize I need to inform the tow truck driver of what's going on. So I walk back out to the tow truck WITH the shop's owner and the next thing I know, the shop owner is F-bombing the tow truck driver...F-bomb, after F-bomb, after F-bomb! The shop owner told the tow truck driver to step out of the truck so he could "kick your (his) mother-effing ass, you mother-effer piece of $hit...and your mother too". I was absolutely mortified. I eventually convinced the tow truck driver to tow the vehicle to a different shop - which he was not happy with, but THANK GOD I got him to do it. In summary, if this is the behavior of a man running a business, I want no part of it. The guy was rude, aggressive and hot-headed. No thank you. Btw...there is a younger mechanic there also, Tim, who is delightful. He was the one I was dealing with prior to bringing my van to the shop. Do not be mis-lead by his kindness, as you will ultimately, eventually have to deal with the owner, which is where it could go VERY bad. Good luck with THAT. Update: I have since come to understand that the person I observed and described here is not the owner. The man I am referring to in this post is an employee of the owner. As a business owner myself, I would want to know about all my customers' experiences to better serve my customers. I hope the owner of this establishment welcomes and appreciates all feedback (good and bad) so that he or she can continue to strive to provide the best service possible to its customers. read more

My 2010 Honda CRV battery died this past Wed. I had AAA come out to jump start the battery. My battery was purchased through AAA just under a year ago, so I didn't think it was the battery. I was afraid it was a bigger issue like a parasitic draw because my a/c didn't appear to be working or an issue with the alternator. I had read on a Honda forum where someone said he fixed his wife's car with a new A/C relay, so I had prepared myself for a larger problem and a bigger price tag. I drove well over 30 min. at/over 2000 rpm as recommended after my car was jump started to build up the charge, but as soon as I turned off the ignition, my car wouldn't restart. I asked the AAA technician if he had a recommendation in case my battery was still having issues. He provided a card to Beach Cities Auto Clinic (BCAC). He told me they offer a free diagnostic on the battery and 10% AAA discount on other services. I spoke to Omid, the owner, and set up an appointment for the following morning. When I brought my car in, I was assisted by Claudia who was very professional. She patiently listened to the issues and thoroughly explained the diagnostic steps they would be taking along with associated estimates and reminded me that my battery was still under warranty. Within a couple of hours, Omid called me indicated the battery was in fact bad. So, AAA met us there, tested, and replaced the battery. From there BCAC did further diagnostics to rule out any other issues and even topped off the car's low fluids. Claudia stated it was free of charge and simply asked for a Yelp review. Omid, Claudia, and the technician that worked on my car provided quality service within a short turnaround time. My experience was extremely positive. After the new battery was installed and the fluids topped off, my A/C worked fine. Side note: although the property is on a relatively small footprint, the waiting room and windows that look directly into the bay are clean and uncluttered. Met Omid and team after AAA jump started our Odyssey minivan. The minivan had not been driven much and the battery died. Omid offered to charge and check the battery and alternator for no cost. After a few hours, he advised the alternator was fully functional and that we could try using a trickle charger for our limited driving situation. This was a wise $30 solution. Left the car with them on a Tuesday, no call to update me on the status of the vehicle, called Wednesday, its not ready, said they'll call me back when they figure out the problem. No call. Called Thursday, still no update, no callback. Called again Friday 10 a.m, asked if there's a chance I'll have the car by end of day .response:" no I don't think that will happen." They told me to give the mechanic 2 hours to work on it and if he can't figure it out they'll call me by 2pm and they'll let me decide what to do with the car. No call. All out of chances and patience, I went to the shop at 3:20 pm to pick up the car, and take it somewhere else, no mechanic in sight, no one working on the car, bays are empty. Gave them the benefit of the doubt that they could fix it, but my vehicle isn't there for a learning curve. They charged me 300.00 for 2 hours of work, for testing. A test!?! Even the BMW mechanic ( who fixed it, and had it ready by Saturday morning 200.00 total) that I took it to across the street from their garage even thought that was ridiculous.. expensive lesson to learn: take it to someone that specifically deals with German imports exclusively. read more

I have to say that I am quite disappointed with the service. This is the third time within 2 weeks that I've taken my car in to be diagnosed for problems. Originally brought my car in because power steering died. Second time was because my car was not starting 3 days after the repair. Third time was because my car was shaking excessively and the auto LSD & Check Engine light triggered right as I drove off the driveway. First session was $800 for diagnostics and speed sensor replacement. Second session was $300 for diagnostics and key replacement. Third session was another $300 for diagnostics and sparkplugs replacement. Total cost approximated to $1400 not accounting for the Uber rides I had to take and the hours I missed at work. Every time I drive off the shop, there's always something new that needs to be fixed. These problems should have been caught the first diagnosis. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the hassle by going to a dealership instead. read more

I was on my way to a meeting in Beverly Hills and car started misfiring/and sluggish. Mgr was very accommodating and ran a diagnostics at n/c and saw that cylinder 1 of my 4cyl. vehicle was gone. She suggested changing all 4 coils and spark plugs which requires a pretty labor intensive work. Manifold has to be remove and intake...I needed to have the car for a job that next day and this all went down around 3pm last Fri. Had a mechanic friend who I know back east who I called and he said it's strongly recommended to do all 4 because the other 3 will soon fail. The mgr. worked with me to fit my budget and Aziz, the mechanic, worked until 9pm that night so I could pick the car up at 9am sat. when they open. Great team and Aziz went above the call of duty and worked on it when the shop closes at 5pm. Thanks again, you help me secure a client on Sat. for having my vehicle ready as promised. Apologies to Mgr. for forgetting her name, should have wrote it down, but she was very resourceful in finding less expensive parts to fit my budget and working with me to get the job done.
