    Hair on my burger

I was eating my burger and pulled a strain of hair out of my mouth as I was eating not to mention, I asked for a medium well. The burger was way undercooked fries were overcooked, and a bit crispy. Also, pretzel bites were overrated when I called the manager and spoke to her. Her name was Amy and she told me that I needed to bring the strand of hair up there with the food because she had no one in the back that had short black hair, horrible experience, and definitely don't recommend

My boyfriend was so happy to go here. That makes it 5 stars in my book!

We came across this place because we were so hungry and late at night. Luckily they were opened. We ordered some wings (the buffalo ones never go wrong) I had ordered Parmesan wings and they just added cheese and the chicken was unseasoned. The places were big and during the time I went were not packed luckily. I heard they can be. Service was okay. Though it did take a while to get a table and it wasn't busy. We waited at the front standing there. The place had a great an atmosphere in its way. This is just more of just your average American restaurant to hang out and sit with food. It wouldn't hurt to try again.

Varners has become a cool little spot for me. I've been here a handful of times in the past month. They have two pool tables that are $1/game and they have free tournaments on Monday and Wednesdays at 7pm and 10pm. It's always a cool and fun crowd in there. On Mondays they have a bogo for boneless wings, those were pretty good too. Saturdays they have karaoke. The only thing I don't love is that you can smoke inside so I come home smelly, but that doesn't stop me from going. There's also a nice little patio to hangout on as well which is always a plus for me.

This is great late night bite if you want a laidback pub vibe without all the theatrics. It was my first time visiting. I ordered the wonton appetizer and my bf got the fried pickles. Both were hot and fresh. We both ordered the same drink. I forgot the name but it's like a peach Long Island. Wontons: 7/10 loved the unique blueberry dipping sauce Fried Pickles: 10/10 this was not dry at all! Very fat fried pickle chips! Peach Long Island Drinks: 9/10 when we got there I was like dang how strong are the drinks to have people acting so silly? Welp I get it now

I get it that beer and there, there can be a miss. We are loyal to Varner"s because it is consistent. Our meal this past Saturday night wasn't the best. We ordered takeout around 9:45. We both ordered a burger and onion rings. My husband asked for his sauce on the side. They left the sauce out entirely. I think our onion rings, which are always out highlight of our visit there, were the leftovers of the leftovers for the day. There were hardly any onions, more like the skins, over fried. It also appears that they took whatever was left in the fry basket and just dumped . This meant I got all of the parts and pieces of batter, as well as a lovely chicken wing. Due to our loyalty, we will visit again but, hoping management works with their team to make sure that experiences are more consistent.

Great food, fellowship and no crowd! We decided to finally go to Varners! They have daily specials today is $4.50 fireball shots and live music on Fridays!! I am very full and happy about this spot and will be back! Hubby had the fried chicken sliders with tots and I had balsamic steak wrap!! Delish!!! Of course no tomatoes. OH MY GOODNESS their sweet potato fries are the best!! One shot of FIREBALL!!!

This place is so run down. 0 for ambiance and maybe a 2 star for food and service. There's better bars out there. Not on this street.

I opted out of the arugula that comes on it by default. I also got their mac n' cheese, and a chocolate shake. It may be the way their brisket blend always is, but the burger patty was a bit tough or overcooked compared to what I'm used to with a standard Angus beef burger or steak burger. It also lacked seasoning, but was saved by the goat cheese and jam. The bun was ok, and it was very messy as 3 of my 4 fried green tomatoes slid out immediately along with a healthy portion of goat cheese and jam. I ate at their outdoor seating area so no biggy, but I definitely wouldn't eat this in your car. However, the fried green tomatoes were very good. The mac n cheese was mediocre and the chocolate shake was good but had an overpowering flavor of Hershey's syrup. Even though it was very busy between the cars at the drive thru and delivery drivers waiting for order pickups, my meal came out in about five minutes. The staff was super friendly and attentive. I've eaten burgers all over the world and I would recommend the visit, but it doesn't rank anywhere near my top 25. Since this was my first visit I plan on returning a couple more times soon so I can try other burger options and update my review if I experience anything different. Burger: 3.7/5 (the toppings carried it) Mac n cheese: 2.5/5 Shake: 3.5/5 Note: No indoor seating. Outside seating available.

I'd sent it to my better half and he said, "let's go." OK... it's a hole in the wall in a strip center. But you know that sometimes those places are absolutely wonderful. And this was one of those times. From the time we walked in, we were welcomed. The lady working the front went through the menu... explained the options and even told us about options that weren't listed. I decided on the Heat Combo... the hubby decided on the Regular Combo. You're going to find that everything is made to order. So nothing just sitting around. The sandwiches are what I'd call burritos in a bun. Wrapped in foil and then paper. We were warned to keep the foil on... And with good reason! These are not sit in the car and eat sandwiches. They're moist... they're juicy and DELICIOUS! Now, I got the one called the Heat. It was not overly spicy but had a good level of heat. I was told if you like it spicy, just ask for hot sauce. I'm kinda torn by that because the general flavor of the sandwich is really good and wouldn't want to cover that up. The Combo comes with thick potato wedges. They were good and neither of us were able to finish all of them. They have some side dipping sauces I want to try next time. We opted to dine in. The dining room is a bit small and standard. There are only about 4 or 5 tables. But, it's clean (spotless clean) and does the trick. I imagine if it's busy it can get quite full. Honestly... this style of food is pretty unique to the Metro. It's not quite a Philly Restaurant... it's not quite a traditional Chili Shop... It's more of what you'd see with a "loose meat" restaurant from the Midwest. But whatever you think it is, it works. And we'll be back!

Great service and great food. Highly recommend. I will be back to try additional dishes very soon.read more

The space is solid - medium-to-large with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, plus a cool hidden speakeasy door in the back if you want to switch up the vibe. The combination of wood-grilled beef, roasted poblano, melted cheddar, red onion, and cilantro aioli is top-tier. It's honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had, with the smoky poblano giving it the perfect kick. The food was excellent, the drinks were on point, and our waitress did an awesome job handling such a large party. She stayed on top of everything and made sure we were taken care of all night. After dinner, we decided to check out the speakeasy through the freezer door--Eleanor's--and unfortunately, that's where the experience took a turn. The atmosphere itself was nice--semi-dark with a cool concept--but it could definitely lean more into a darker, more immersive speakeasy vibe. The bigger issue, though, was the service. It was night and day compared to upstairs. The waitress came across as rude and unwelcoming from the start. A few of us sat down in a small corner area with an L-shaped bench and some extra chairs we had to pull over ourselves. Obviously, with 12 people, there was no way we were all fitting there, yet she insisted she wouldn't take any drink orders until everyone was seated. That made no sense, especially since there was standing room and even a bar-height table available. To make matters worse, there was zero acknowledgment of the birthday--not even a simple "happy birthday," which felt like a missed opportunity given the occasion. When we asked about Fireball shots, the response was a blunt "um, no," followed by "you can have water," as she started filling glasses. That pretty much summed up the vibe we got. Not sure if this is typical service down there or just an off night, but it was enough to make us decide we wouldn't come back to the speakeasy. Bottom line: If you're in the area, definitely check out Muss & Turner's for dinner--it's worth it. But I'd skip Eleanor's and save your time and money.
