    Cousins at Verner's

Our cousin invited us to one of his watering holes in Smyrna, Georgia on our last night in the area. When I parked tge car, I realized we were about to enter a tavern that supports the Philadelphia Eagles fans. My head almost exploded. Im a diehard NY Giants fan. Of course, my cousin will never live that on down. Nevertheless, we had a great time. My sister and I shared Collard Green Eggrolls. These are to "die for". Greens deliciously flavored rolled in eggroll wrapper. I wish I could get this in the LA area. Cousin had a cheesesteak and it looked good. Restaurant has a large parking lot. Besides the Philly connection, a cool place to hang out.

    Hair on my burger

I was eating my burger and pulled a strain of hair out of my mouth as I was eating not to mention, I asked for a medium well. The burger was way undercooked fries were overcooked, and a bit crispy. Also, pretzel bites were overrated when I called the manager and spoke to her. Her name was Amy and she told me that I needed to bring the strand of hair up there with the food because she had no one in the back that had short black hair, horrible experience, and definitely don't recommend

My boyfriend was so happy to go here. That makes it 5 stars in my book!

We came across this place because we were so hungry and late at night. Luckily they were opened. We ordered some wings (the buffalo ones never go wrong) I had ordered Parmesan wings and they just added cheese and the chicken was unseasoned. The places were big and during the time I went were not packed luckily. I heard they can be. Service was okay. Though it did take a while to get a table and it wasn't busy. We waited at the front standing there. The place had a great an atmosphere in its way. This is just more of just your average American restaurant to hang out and sit with food. It wouldn't hurt to try again.

Varners has become a cool little spot for me. I've been here a handful of times in the past month. They have two pool tables that are $1/game and they have free tournaments on Monday and Wednesdays at 7pm and 10pm. It's always a cool and fun crowd in there. On Mondays they have a bogo for boneless wings, those were pretty good too. Saturdays they have karaoke. The only thing I don't love is that you can smoke inside so I come home smelly, but that doesn't stop me from going. There's also a nice little patio to hangout on as well which is always a plus for me.

This is great late night bite if you want a laidback pub vibe without all the theatrics. It was my first time visiting. I ordered the wonton appetizer and my bf got the fried pickles. Both were hot and fresh. We both ordered the same drink. I forgot the name but it's like a peach Long Island. Wontons: 7/10 loved the unique blueberry dipping sauce Fried Pickles: 10/10 this was not dry at all! Very fat fried pickle chips! Peach Long Island Drinks: 9/10 when we got there I was like dang how strong are the drinks to have people acting so silly? Welp I get it now

I get it that beer and there, there can be a miss. We are loyal to Varner"s because it is consistent. Our meal this past Saturday night wasn't the best. We ordered takeout around 9:45. We both ordered a burger and onion rings. My husband asked for his sauce on the side. They left the sauce out entirely. I think our onion rings, which are always out highlight of our visit there, were the leftovers of the leftovers for the day. There were hardly any onions, more like the skins, over fried. It also appears that they took whatever was left in the fry basket and just dumped . This meant I got all of the parts and pieces of batter, as well as a lovely chicken wing. Due to our loyalty, we will visit again but, hoping management works with their team to make sure that experiences are more consistent.

Great food, fellowship and no crowd! We decided to finally go to Varners! They have daily specials today is $4.50 fireball shots and live music on Fridays!! I am very full and happy about this spot and will be back! Hubby had the fried chicken sliders with tots and I had balsamic steak wrap!! Delish!!! Of course no tomatoes. OH MY GOODNESS their sweet potato fries are the best!! One shot of FIREBALL!!!

Walked in and right back out. Smoking is allowed in the bar and the hostess just shrugged when I asked about it.

This place is so run down. 0 for ambiance and maybe a 2 star for food and service. There's better bars out there. Not on this street.

The plantain nachos are especially good because you get that sweet and salty crunch from the plantains with the jerk chicken and crema on top. For my main, I had the Djon Djon Bowl with salmon, and that was probably my favorite. The rice is rich, earthy, and full of flavor, and the salmon works really well with it. The service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, and the manager also made a point to make sure we were taken care of. That kind of hospitality really adds to the experience. The ambiance is warm, lively, and inviting with a modern Caribbean feel. It's casual enough to be comfortable but still has enough personality to make it feel like more than just a quick meal. What I like about Zeke's is that the food feels familiar enough to be approachable but still gives you a real introduction to Haitian flavors. The portions are generous, the food is well seasoned, and there's a lot on the menu I'd come back to try. If you've never had Haitian food before, I'd absolutely recommend starting here. You won't regret giving it a try, and there's a very good chance it'll keep you coming back. Seriously, 5 out of 5 stars.

I've tried the griot, cabrit, and Djon Djon rice with shrimp, and everything has been delicious. The drinks are worth the price, and that Haitian rum is good and STRONG! Definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're looking for good Haitian food and a nice atmosphere.

(I'll spare you the details, I'll give them their own review.) So I searched where else I could go and this lovely place was sitting right next-door. We were greeted by Nick when we walked in, and he was so welcoming and so cordial. We chose to sit at the bar because we just love sitting at a bar and talking with the bartender. We met Brittney at the bar and she was completely delightful! (they had no idea of difference they were making in our dinner date!) FRIED GREEN TOMATOES... do not miss these. The fried chicken and collards dish... It's signature! Do yourself a favor and order that. The drinks were lovely. I can't remember what all we ordered. And then in the end, the butter cake. Absolutely don't miss this one! If you find yourself at the restaurant next-door, and you have the opportunity... Slip out and go to South city kitchen!

Barton was my waiter and he was very friendly and thoughtful, paid attention to details, and checked in often, making the experience really great They give you free biscuits, cornbread, and butter which are pretty good, I devoured them. Very nice touch and made the whole experience elevated as well. For food, I ordered the blackberry nogrito, crab cakes, and shrimp and grits. The blackberry nogrito was very good but quite sweet, it came off as a blackberry mint mocktail similar to a mojito but the syrup flavor was a bit strong. The crab cake appetizer was delicious, probably my favorite thing! It was huge and the flavor was strong but not overpowering or heavy, which made for a really nice appetizer! It came with a mayo like sauce and was on a bed of corn for some flavor variety, but really enjoyed the crab cake. It also came out PIPING hot and was very enjoyable. The shrimp and grits came with a Smokey almost gumbo like sauce, kind of like a Cajun take on shrimp and grits. It was filled with shrimp that was very bouncy (not overcooked!), smoked ham/sausage, and was very generous on the sauce and grits. Was very enjoyable. Will definitely come back for the exceptional service and good food!
