Our cousin invited us to one of his watering holes in Smyrna, Georgia on our last night in the area. When I parked tge car, I realized we were about to enter a tavern that supports the Philadelphia Eagles fans. My head almost exploded. Im a diehard NY Giants fan. Of course, my cousin will never live that on down. Nevertheless, we had a great time. My sister and I shared Collard Green Eggrolls. These are to "die for". We love the spot but recently the attention to detail on our order isn't happening. The last two times, we ordered a MedWell burger for my wife who is pregnant and it has been MedRare, it's been on pickup orders to take home. We came across this place because we were so hungry and late at night. Luckily they were opened. We ordered some wings (the buffalo ones never go wrong) I had ordered Parmesan wings and they just added cheese and the chicken was unseasoned. The places were big and during the time I went were not packed luckily. I heard they can be. Service was okay. Though it did take a while to get a table and it wasn't busy. We waited at the front standing there. The place had a great an atmosphere in its way. This is just more of just your average American restaurant to hang out and sit with food. Varners has become a cool little spot for me. I've been here a handful of times in the past month. They have two pool tables that are $1/game and they have free tournaments on Monday and Wednesdays at 7pm and 10pm. It's always a cool and fun crowd in there. On Mondays they have a bogo for boneless wings, those were pretty good too. Saturdays they have karaoke. The only thing I don't love is that you can smoke inside so I come home smelly, but that doesn't stop me from going. There's also a nice little patio to hangout on as well which is always a plus for me. read more

Both were hot and fresh. We both ordered the same drink. I forgot the name but it's like a peach Long Island. I get it that beer and there, there can be a miss. We are loyal to Varner"s because it is consistent. Our meal this past Saturday night wasn't the best. We ordered takeout around 9:45. We both ordered a burger and onion rings. My husband asked for his sauce on the side. They left the sauce out entirely. I think our onion rings, which are always out highlight of our visit there, were the leftovers of the leftovers for the day. There were hardly any onions, more like the skins, over fried. It also appears that they took whatever was left in the fry basket and just dumped . This meant I got all of the parts and pieces of batter, as well as a lovely chicken wing. Due to our loyalty, we will visit again but, hoping management works with their team to make sure that experiences are more consistent. read more

I'd been to Varners years ago to play trivia. The place was packed and the food was good. Pre-Covid. Went last night for trivia and what a sad place. Hardly filled and my Cobb salad was tasteless, dry chicken, under seasoned and the Bleu cheese had barely and Bleu cheese flavor. Not happy for $16 with tax. They used to be much better, at least when ordering from them. Maybe it's better in person. But the wings I just ordered arrived absolutely SWIMMING in grease. I couldn't eat them. The burger too was not all that special. Above all, they lacked flavor on both the patty and the fries. While I thought the price was reasonable, the quality was subpar at best. I was not sure if the place was having an off day, however I will not be too enthusiastic to order from them again. I would say that they completed the order in 15 minutes and we were able to pick it up really quick and easy, so A on customer service. You could tell the burger was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The wings also had lots of flavor and were fried crispy with no batter (loved it) They also offer a shuttle to The Battery so if you have Braves tickets you can eat and have a drink there first then they will shuttle you to the game and pick you up after the game!
