Yikes! I know. I had a series of unlucky run-ins with printers locally and as far as Burbank and none of them stood up to what I was looking for. Sigh. In comes LA Print and Design. When I met with Christian I made it very clear that I was probably more picky and paid closer attention to detail than most. He didn't even hesitate and was super helpful the entire process through. He made recommendations on more affordable garment companies, design, and was overall helpful through and through. Lets talk about turnaround. Quickest I've experienced with any t-shirt silkscreening company. I've waited as long as two months for orders as small as 50 shirts before -- nightmare. I was relieved they were able to get my order done in weeks vs months. The price, super affordable and happy to be a repeat customer because of the close personal attention to detail and quality service. I wasn't positive on the shade of pink I wanted on a particular girls shirt and Christian kept me updated via text with pictures, about the process, timeline, etc. I definitely appreciated this A LOT. All other printers before LA Print and Design made assumptions about certain things like this then expected me to be happy with the end result. They didn't understand I was super particular because the shirts were a direct reflection of my newly started brand. While it became clear that some of my previous printers were limited on capability, over charging for services and were only used to printing promotional shirts -- these guys were a true relief and handled my order perfectly start to finish. So I come back at 1pm and 2 of the hats are ok, could be better but this one literally looks like my 5 year old daughter's writing!! One of the strangest experiences I've ever had…read more Walked in to get a quote for some business cards and check their pricing structure. Was lectured for a few minutes on how business cards are "not a magic bullet" and how "if you need to ask (the price), it's probably out of your range." I asked about engraved business cards. Quoted ~$2.5k for a handful of paper cards. Not a single engraved card sample in sight and their limited (2) samples were entirely unimpressive. Was so hot and stuffy inside, felt like I was suffering oxygen deprivation. From the owner himself, if you need business cards, "go to one of those online places." I recommend the sellers on Etsy.

We ordered a specific style of shirts for our nonprofit's pre-sold event, trusting a local printer…read moreto get it right since I wasn't on-site to check the shipment. The printer later confirmed that I had ordered the correct style, but they printed women's sizes instead of unisex shirts, which our members had paid for. The tags didn't make this clear, so our volunteers began distributing them before the mistake was discovered. The printer's first "solution" was to claim the shirts were actually higher quality than what we ordered and offer either a 10% discount on a future order or 15 of the correct shirts -- far short of the number we originally ordered. They ignored the fact that our members had pre-paid for a specific style and left volunteers to manage the fallout. Had they accepted their mistake immediately, there is no reason they shouldn't have been able to reprint the shirts so we could have distributed them during our multi-day event. At one point, they suggested we return the misprinted shirts, not to fix the mistake, but so they could destroy them. They repeatedly framed the situation as a retail-style return/refund issue, implying our volunteers or members "took" the wrong shirts, even though this was entirely their fulfillment error. After multiple rounds of back-and-forth, they finally agreed to reprint the correct shirts. However, when we received the corrected batch, two shirts were misprinted, completely omitting the event logo on the back, and one had a hole in a seam. Because of the delays, we had to mail the corrected shirts to members well after the event at our own cost (over $350 as we had attendees from as far away as Germany), losing money on shirt sales and creating extra work for volunteers. At a certain point, it wasn't worth continuing negotiations, so we accepted the reprints at a loss. While the shirts themselves are fine, the fulfillment, communication, and proposed solutions caused unnecessary stress, extra work for volunteers, and financial loss. Anyone ordering for an organization or event should be prepared to follow up closely and push for a solution that actually meets their needs.
