If I could give a 0 rating I would, this place has the most careless waiters. The music is good but after waiting 45 mins for one drink you're ready to go. The whole table had gotten food but me & waiter seemed lost and annoyed that I asked about where my food was. This business could have a great outcome if it was better organized. we visited the South Austin location. first, the music was so loud we could not scream across the table and be heard. We went on a Sunday for the first time and was unaware we could only order from the brunch menu. The food was awful. It could well be the worst food of my lifetime. I tried to order unsweetened tea and was told they only serve sweet tea. (not a good option for diabetics). I asked if they had any diet sodas and the waitress could not answer the question. i ended up ordering a mimosa. Our food was stone cold. The only decent food on my plate was the pinto beans....hardly worth the cost. The food was so spicy hot, my mouth was burning for hours. i can't believe i see people waiting outside for a table. I went into Gabriela's over two hours early to get on the list for a table for my friends birthday. I have been a loyal customer of this place for years and I know how the wait times around dinner can be, but this time was different. I was told I'd be put on the list and when the table was ready, they would text and our group would have 5 minutes to all be there. They told me my estimated wait time was an hour. After an hour, our whole group was there and went in to check if the table was ready. It was not, and they told us the wait may be another 45 minutes. 45 minutes later, they still had not texted or called at all, so we went to another restaurant. Although we didn't cancel our spot on the list, Gabriela's never texted us at all. They also were extremely rude to my friends father, and told him there was no manager on hand when he asked... They were not rude to me but they were to him, and I'm almost convinced it was a race thing, (he is an elderly black man). I'm appalled with the behavior of employees on March 11, 2021. The veggie tacos here were terrible, like eating greasy plain vegetables in a dry taco with not even an attempt at flavor or seasoning. Everyone else's food seemed equally lackluster judging by the grim silence. We came specifically for the pineapple margarita, which is dumb, i know, but then they didn't even have it available. The food also took a really long time to come out even though they were not busy. There are so many Mexican places in this town, there is zero reason to come here. read more

My mouth was watering just looking at the food and drinks here but unfortunately there was no place to park and the only place available was not safe as there was several homeless people around asking for money. The restaurant is located right next to the interstate where there are tents for many homeless and not safe. I would love to go to that restaurant when back in town as it looks super delicious but hopefully they have better parking availability for their guests. read more

Had the most unpleasant experience at this restaurant. The staff has no control of their waist list and takes no accountability for their mistakes. I got to the restaurant at 6:45 and was told the wait was 40+ minutes. After waiting for over 1hr, I check in and they tell me I'm not on the list. They put me back on the list to wait as a new group. I ended up waiting for 2+ hours. They take no responsibility for their mistakes. I will give them a star in order to rate, but if I could I would not give them anything. They are shit!! read more

The Host station is the worst service ever... Wait was a 2 hour wait which we were okay with but their were empty tables everywhere and the youngest girl who is a host is rude and picks and chooses who gets seated first so be on the look out who gets seated before you.. I called her out on it with the manager because a customer paid her under the table to get next in line when they were just arriving to the restaurant. Great location, great atmosphere, food looked great but never got to try it since the service was one of the worst I've ever experienced. My family and I were leaving pecan festival and wanted to check this place out before heading back home. My wife got down to see how long the wait was (25min) so we checked in. Well the wait was over an hour which was fine it's a Saturday and 6ish no worries totally understand I've worked in the service business before and it can get busy in a hurry. What i didn't understand was how we were treated. Waiter came by after he finished with the table next to us. Had everyone ready to order at one time since it was so busy. Waiter came by was nice and friendly took our order and left brought back water and never came back. I noticed he was checking on everyone around us since they weren't eating just drinking. 30 min later no food or no checking on the table. I finally waive him down and asked him if he could check on our food since it's 8:45 now (we arrived at 6:45) he says okay then says food is coming out around 45 min or so????? I was like what???? What restaurant has a 45 min food turn around is there one person in the kitchen???? So we've waited 30 min hopefully the food comes out soon 10 min later nothing not even a check up. I wave him down again and ask if he can check on food cause now we've wasted three hours and thinking about leaving he says okay with a smile and walks away ( I seriously don't think he did anything) got the wife and kids and headed out ran into the waiter on the way out and told him we were leaving he said okay I canceled everything already bye. He never came back to us and canceled everything. He couldn't give two s***s. Never coming back here again and with service like this it won't be long and the hype will die down and this place will close down. read more

Where can I begin?. I always liked Gabriela's concept is a nice, great colors, and Every time I pass by i wanted to try it, but it needs to improve a lot things, our waitress looked like she just literally woke up, no energy, no "how are you guys welcome" just "you want something to drink" so not dress probably(including all the other staff you couldn't tell who worked there) i totally understand they try to keep it chill and so 2019 but there should be a a list of how to probably show up to work, my friends and I we got to Gabriela's around 11 still not busy, 4 tables in the back patio they seat us right next the loud speaker, we didn't say anything bc we didn't wanted to be annoying so we just sat there, we order drinks, two coffees and two mimosas, it took her so long to bring our drinks, after she drop off our drinks she come back and ask if we were ready to order and we say yes but she was not ready bc she was missing pen and paper to write our order("I be back let me go look for a piece of paper and a pen to take your order")like what kind of server doesn't have paper and penafter taking our orders she got a big table probably 8 or 10 people right next us which it was bad I got hit a few time by the party next to us. We got our food, I order the Machacado on the menu say Topped with Queso fresco I never saw queso fresco (you can see in the picture) and let's not get into to the drinks not so good specially la piña para La Niña is more for presentation. The server was so focused on the big table only the she TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT US, she never check on us or give refills NOTHING, we had to got up and ask for checks and we looking at the bill and they added 20% tip, we had to give 20% for the STUPID TERRIBLE SERVICE we didn't say anything bc we didn't wanted to spend anymore time on the awful restaurant. I totally still recommended bc is a good concept to take a lot pictures but I hope you don't have the same experience we did!. read more

Possibly some of the best chips & queso I've ever had...and I've eaten a LOT of it! I came here on New Years Day around noon. They were packed and there was a wait, but I was able to grab a seat at the bar right away (benefit of being single & dining alone!). The staff were extremely attentive & friendly. They make their own chips here. And, OMG, they are deliciously addictive. The Choriqueso was wonderful. This isn't really a "dipping" queso. It's a hunk of melted cheese that kind of fries a bit in the iron skillet so it's very thick. The little corn tortillas that came with the queso made perfect mini cheese burritos. Man oh man, is it ever good! I had the Michelada with the tomato juice popcicle. Fun concept and it was quite tasty! If I hadn't had to drive back to Dallas right away, I would have tried more drinks as their drink menu looked interesting. The couple next to me at the bar were from out of town & said they had eaten here 3 times over the weekend. I can see why. I highly recommend this gem. It will definitely be a regular stop when I'm in Austin. read more

The salsa sampler was so good we wanted more once we finished. It was exactly what I needed after a long day of walking. I also had the tacos al pastor and loved every bite. It was an hour wait which I get it's cinco de mayo but we waited an extra 20 minutes after we sat down to finally put an order in. I really wanted to like this place but the slow service was not acceptable. What makes me mad is that I made eye contact with multiple servers and NONE of them came over. If you expect to pay full parking and then be turned away after waiting for 10 minutes while the Host complete their side duties then please go forward. I waited just to be told that I could not be seated because there were two other parties waiting and I was not to be considered. This is upsetting are posted hours say differently. I spoke to a supervisor who then told me he was not in charge of parking (which is a true thing in Austin) and quite frankly couldn't help. Very upsetting, as we are just trying to support, hard to do that when you are being turned away for being an honest and hungry customer. read more
