Came here with a friend to try out this new restaurant. We arrived right after it opened for the evening and were seated with a lovely view of the bay. Our server was very sweet and explained the drinks and tapas. I ordered a gin with lavender and it had flowers on top. It was so pretty and tasty so I had two. My friend ordered the espresso cocktail with cinnamon on top. We also enjoyed the Ceviche, crab crudités and the fish croquettes. The crab was so good we order two of those. Everything was so pretty when it arrived and nice and hot. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

Wow, the food here was phenomenal, paired with the beautiful ocean view and our extremely friendly and attentive waitress we were so happy with our experience. We got the chili infused shrimp which had just the right amount of heat and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The signature ahi tuna tostada had such a wonderful flavor profile, the tuna marinade with the pickled red onions and chipotle mayo made me want three more of these. The lobster salpicón was definitely good, especially with the herb and garlic butter on the side. But the star of the show was the queso de cabra, the richness of the goat cheese with the acidity of the brava sauce paired with the sweet and spicy hot honest literally had me almost licking the plate. We made reservations for Gabriela's based on a Yelp high rating. Early dinner for 4 at 6:00 P.M. We did not have the same experience as the person posting a high rating. We love trying new places or recommendations through Yelp or other apps, this place was a disappointment based exclusively on the customer service. Our waitperson was soft-spoken & too quiet to hear over the other customers background conversations. Bartender was busy with the customers at the bar while those at the dining tables had to wait, and wait, and wait for our drinks. I had the Martini Pepino (Cucumber) it was okay. There was a muddled mixture floating on the top that prevented me from enjoying the liquid below. My husband had the blueberry infused Mojito, he said it was good. Our friends had wine. The food, the food was delicious. Love the variety of small plate choices. I had the Salmon salad which was cooked to perfection and well-seasoned. My husband had the Ceviche (white fish not shrimp) which he stated was good. Also enjoyed the Corn Ribs a little charred but really good. We ordered the Key Lime pie, Mexican cheesecake & Almond Torte, very good selection to finish our meal. One small pet peeve of mine, the menus, including cocktail menus, live on the table, like Texas Roadhouse. We live on a ranch about 20 min out so this is our "destination dinner" for date night. Everything was so well thought out from the glassware, atmosphere, specials to the arrangement of the dishes. We were so excited to try this place. We had been reviewing the menu all afternoon and talking about what we would order. Absolutely never going here again. It was so LOUD. We asked if there was somewhere else we could sit and the manager said no. There was a large party that was extremely loud. The manager was seen going to that table multiple times to see how they were doing. She never came to ask us or any other table how we were doing. Only the large party as it seemed she knew them. The waitress was very kind but we quickly drank our drinks and our one plate of shrimp we had already ordered and left. Not worth it. Food was ok. Drinks were ok. The seats were very uncomfortable, the lighting was extremely bright. I could not talk to the person across from me. We could not hear the waitress or each other. Not worth the effort or the price. Although, definitely recommend a reservation they were very popular that night, and the dining room is small and intimate with a cute bar area. The food was wonderful. I had the chefs steak and it cut like butter with a fork. Huge pie fan, so I ordered their version of a key-lime pie which was so amazingly creamy. Will definitely be revisiting. Arrived and waited a few minutes while what I assume was the hostess swept the floor. She "realized" we were there waiting and then seated us (our guess is she was just waiting for someone else to do it). Sat down and ordered drinks, and by time she came back informed us that the kitchen would be closing now so we needed to order whatever we wanted. This place has hours stating 1000, it was 930. Food arrived relatively quickly and was pretty good. Wife sat with empty glass for quite awhile, even when what appeared to be a manager/owner walked by numerous times directing employees on what to do, wife eventually went to the bar to get more water. The whole time it felt like we were inconveniencing them, which I'd semi understand if we were only ones there, but there were at least 5 other parties there when we left. Good food, awful service. Love this place it's such a great addition to the Rockport in Corpus Christi area. The menu is not that big but everything on there is so delicious and taste fresh and authentic. Love the twist on the Mexican and plates. Most of the items are tapas style so I would suggest trying a little bit of everything and sharing is probably the best way to taste everything that is amazing. My favorite was the meatballs and be sure to check out what their special is for that day as well, be sure to make a reservation because right now the hours are limited, but you will be pleasantly greeted by the staff seated as soon as you get there. I love the decor and the ambience it has a very relaxing field with the plants and the feather decor. They have a very nice bar set up as well when you walk in which is great for catching up with a friend or just grabbing a quick drink and I know they are also working on making an upstairs area which has a bar also being built, which will be great to overlook the water. Definitely a hit Jim in the area that you need to try. I went for my parents wedding anniversary and took some other family members and they all thoroughly enjoyed it. Exceeded our expectations in every way! We ordered takeout the first weekend Gabriela's was open, knowing there might be a few hiccups as with any new venture. No hiccups for Gabriela's though! Since their soft opening, we have been 4 additional times. We've gone with my parents, we've eaten at the bar and in the dining room. In all of these visits, we've ordered the ahi watermelon salad, the salmon salad, the deep fried lobster, the potato leek soup, the meatballs, shrimp tacos, the ahi tuna tostada, patatas bravas, guacamole and chips, tortilla soup, wine, piña coladas, the chocolate cake, lime pie, the puff pastry and fruit dessert, and the rice dessert. My husband and I moved to Rockport almost two years ago after living in major cities our whole lives. We eat out often, and we have two rating systems since moving here...good for Rockport and good for anywhere. We both pronounced that Gabriela's is good for anywhere! I'm thrilled to have them in Rockport and my only wish is they would be open for lunch and dinner on Mondays (my group would love to have lunch and play mahjong there), so few restaurants are open for Monday lunch in this area. Thanks for a great meal, Gabriela's! We look forward to many more! The service is exemplary. The bar and dining room servers are attentive, friendly, and well-trained. Tapas were a great choice for a Rockport restaurant - casual and adjustible to your appetite. All of the tapas we ordered were superb, especially the corn ribs, ceviche, and tacos. Order the miguelitos for desert - not too sweet and really good. Ashlyn was a great server, never hovering but always around when needed. Nice, new surroundings with a view of Little Bay. I love new places in Rockport! The long anticipated Gabriela's opened up a couple of months ago in the old GLOW space with some major additions and renovations. It's called a seafood tapas place and it has an extensive menu of tapas looking things. We tried a smattering of offerings... the happy hour empanadas, the shrimp in chile sauce, fried lobster, and the pimiento cheese, and a couple of craft cocktails.
