So I am very saddened to write this review however My daughter and I have to make everyone aware especially women so this does not happen to you. Always take a picture of your items before leaving. I dropped off a PS4 Gaming console two and a half months ago because it would not connect to the BRAND NEW controller I purchased from Walmart. I even sent the controller back to Walmart and exchanged it for another controller thinking it was defected. before trying to repair it. Eventually I contacted Gadget guy to inquire and was told the system had some sort of broken sensor and was unable to be repaired. I then purchased a new game . I went to retrieve my broken console and Brand New controller only to find my controller was duped out for an old battered controller. I have been going to Johnathan for over 4 years and have spent countless money repairing phones. Never did I expect to be cheated out of my 14 year old daughters controller. I still even have my protection plan on the controller but he refuses to acknowledge it and basically threw his hands up as to say he doesn't know what happened to it. I f I were a man I am sure I would have been handled with respect and given a resolution. Instead he went back and forth with me debating my receipt from Walmart instead of providing a resolution. I spent $65.00 for the controller and an additional charge for the ALLSTATE Protection Plan. I HAVE NEVER FELT MORE HELPLESS AND DISRESPECTED BY A BUSINESS THAT I RECOMMENDED WHOLEHEARTLY. My phone had an unfortunate mishap when it met my Hydro Flask. Luckily for me, Jonathan was here to save me. I have to say, I've gotten different phones fixed in the past and this experience has been my favorite so far. Not only is he super nice and kind to every one of his customers but he is also fair. I think his prices are extraordinary for what he offers. I got my iPhone 11 fixed here at his Cedar Rapids location. It took about 10-15 minutes and he threw on a screen protector as well. His work is great and I have had no problems with it. Everything works well. If you need your phone, tablet, or any screen fixed, even a DS, you gotta check this place out. John was super friendly and fast. Fixed my phone right there in front of me for transparency purposes. Said it would take 15min and it only took 10 while he was also helping a customer over the phone. I plan on sending my wifes phone to him too. Don't use Gadget Guy!! He didn't fix my ipad properly. THINK TWICE BEFORE USING GADGETGUY IF YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR YOU! *** btw I can't leave a review here now, so appparently GadgetGuy has shut off that function....but here's my HORROR story; trying to get a screen fixed... On Wednesday I picked up my ipad mini at GadgetGuys son's wrestling practice where I had to meet him to pick it up after it was supposedly repaired. I didn't get to use until I got home and had already paid him for the work he did. Within 5 minutes of using my ipad mini with the new screen there was a ghost-in-the-machine wrecking havoc and typing willy-nilly, opening and closing apps randomly etc... From the start - before taking my ipad to him as we talked on the phone about his services he assured me that I would have it back in good working order by Saturday afternoon so when I took it back I also made sure he understood that and he was agreeable to meeting me on Saturday between 2-3pm to pick it up. He said it would be fixed by Friday but I told him I would be out of town and wasn't able to get it until Saturday. He ever day anything about going out of town Saturday!!! he was still agreeable to that timeline and said he would have it be fixed and ready for me to use for my gig on Saturday night. So Saturday about 1:30 I started sending messages, and more messages as the day went on until finally after 6:30pm he contacted me to say I need to hire a locksmith to get into his truck now because he was out of town and left my device along with several other people's devices in his truck parked on a street outside another person's home and I would find my ipad mini among several other devices he had in a briefcase in his truck....WHO does that? When I asked why my ipad was in his truck while he was out of town he diverted the conversation and started gas-lighting it to make it my fault for not picking up my Ipad on Friday! Yet he encouraged me, someone whom he just met, to hire a locksmith and break into his truck?? WTF is that all about?? Who does that?? So I texted him back to say he needs to call me. Which he did but he was very short and curt with me indicating he was about to jump out of plane!! I advised him that the idea of using a locksmith to break into his truck was not a viable option and I would NOT DO THAT. So Why was my ipad mini in his truck, GadgetGuy works from home? AND I still don't have it!!! I also just found out from a friend that he still has their laptop too. read more
