I've been coming here for mani and pedi for several years. In the beginning, it was such a treat; lovely, calm atmosphere. I love the techs here, they are all so nice. But the last few times I've gone, my nails haven't lasted. There are always a couple of nails that are rough and the polish is either not smooth and or chips off quickly. The last time I went ( yesterday) the young lady who did my pedicure was very sweet and did a nice job, but didn't seem to understand or speak English, so that was frustrating since I don't speak any Vietnamese. My male manicurist was very nice, but seemed quite rushed. I will go back, but I hope they return to the "feeling pampered " salon. read more

Since my last review I've been a regular for pedicures and decided to give a gel mani a try. Unfortunately, the chrome powder started to peel at the tips and so at least this time I called and they offered a re-do we simply added another chrome dip on the old mani (I suggested going darker (my tech gave me attitude she got up and had someone else step in) as the base was black and thank goodness I did because it's been two days and my nails are chipping and a chunk of gel came off. :( I still like the place for pedi's though. read more

I went here at least 10 times before I decided to write a review. pros: the room where you get a pedi has dimmed lights can be relaxing and Donna who works the front is nice cons: services are extremely inconsistent and when I mentioned that, I was told to request Trane, who happens to be always booked. I've had some good services and some really bad services. My last pedicure lasted literally 12 minutes and she sped through it so fast that it wasn't relaxing and she spent no time actually cleaning my cuticles. Mind you the pedi was $45 they also don't ask people to stop talking on their cell phones during services. I have gone here alone many times for pedicures and paid their regular price on the menu. Brought my husband along today for the same exact services and they charged us 80 dollars more as soon as they saw him paying they charged up the price. 20 extra for this, 20 extra for that, 20 extra for blah blah was their excuse. If you want to have a relaxing pedicure experience. This place provides that. They have a separate room with low lighting dedicated to pedicures. It feels so relaxing. Their options for pedicure are fantastic and my favorite thus far has been the jelly pedicure. The price is a tad steep but it truly feels like a guilty pleasure that leaves you feeling callus free, exfoliated and hydrated. I also do the powder dip manicure and i love how all technicians i have worked with so far have mastered the art of making them look natural. Highly recommend bringing cash to avoid the $3 dollar fee for using a credit card. Also, they seem happier when you do. read more

I was recently at Gaia to have a pedicure and a manicure for my 11 year old daughter. I have been coming to this place for a few years and have consistently had a good experience, regardless of which technician works on my feet. Today was an unpleasant experience and despite having come to this place for several years, I don't think I'll be coming back. My appointment today was for 1 PM. I showed up on time with my daughter. They sat us both down and they started my daughter's manicure. I asked if she could get a design and they said no problem. At about 1:15 her manicure was over and there was no design and the technician left. She was clearly moving onto the next customer. I was still sitting there waiting for my pedicure because they had not started my feet yet. When my daughter has been there previously for a manicure, they usually give her a little lotion and a hand massage. All this woman did was paint her nails and use a nail file and that was it. Finally, the technician came to do my feet around 1:20 and she apologized that she was late, and I told her, no problem. That should've been my first signal that she was going to rush through the pedicure which in the end lasted 22 minutes. She had to go back because she didn't cut my toenails short enough when I had asked her to do that at the beginning. She kept looking around, moving her hands so quickly, and she even dropped one of the stones on the floor. I stopped her and asked if maybe someone else should work on my feet because she seemed very rushed and stressed out. She shooed her hand and said no don't worry, I will fix it after I'm done with the massage which lasted less than a minute.. Well at 1:45, both my daughter and I left. Usually when I go there, my pedicure takes around 45 minutes and sometimes even close to an hour. I really think that when their salon is busy, the priority isn't creating positive experiences and good service for their customers but rather pushing people through as quickly as possible. I did appreciate that the manager offered to give me $10 off on my next pedicure, but I declined it because after today's experience, it would be really hard for me to go back. read more

I feel amazing after my pedicure. It has been so long since I have been out for a pedicure so let me tell you I needed this! This was my first time at this salon but I came with a friend who has been here before. She has excellent taste. We both got pedicures and there is a special room just for the chairs. They keep is dimly lit which is so relaxing. They have individual lights over each foot spot that they only turn on when they are cutting your cuticles or painting your nails. I went with the green tea treatment and my skin has felt amazing ever since! Very hydrating! Plus who doesn't love the extra step of a scrub? OH! And they do a hot stone massage afterwards! Disgusting service...i came in for pedicure, 3 techs helped to do it with very unsatisfactory results. 3 sets of eyes saying it is clean. My toes has all the dead skin around the nails, i have to tell them and point it out coz it seems they could not see how terrible it was...old nail polish used, bubbles on my nail bed. This is $45 pedicure but as if i am begging for a good service. Oh and by the way, scamming the customer for additional $15 for gel nail polish but i saw that they are refilling gel nail containers with regular polish. read more

I gave this place three good tries since it's close to home but I will not be back. They have no idea how to properly cut nails or what shape actually looks good on someones hands or feet. Each time my toes look like they were cut by a toddler. Today i went with a friend for pedicures. We had appointments but she was finished before anyone had started mine - over a half hour later. Since it was so late I asked for a polish change instead because I had to leave. They then quickly gave me the messy, excessive cut and paint, over charging me for the late messy service. As I was being painted I was witnessing a very frustrated client across the way trying to explain she did not like her chopped nails and another tech trying to step in toremedy the situation. Today was my third visit here. For the first two, I had pedicures. They were decent pedicures. Today, I had an organic dipping manicure. It was the fastest manicure I have ever had. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. The gentleman that I had was nice but rough with turning my fingers to apply the coats, and when he used to drummel. If I pay $150 for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure it better be a darn good treatment. I came in here w my daughter last week and my nails chipped by the day after. DO NOT GO HERE. They are a bait and switch nail salon. They claim that since my daughter has "extra long nails" that the price was higher (pix attached) They also charged her $15 for chrome, when it was $10 the last visit. I will be reporting to the BBB and CA state board since it is illegal not to post prices and add hidden fees. I urge you to do the same if they have done the same to you. Just moved to the area and needed a new nail place. Love Gaia! The facility is clean, great COVID-19 guidelines: they wear masks, dividers between people and chairs and they ask you wash your hands when you come in. The facility is beautiful and clean. The lights in the pedicure area are dimmed and make the ambiance real soothing. I had the Organic Milk and Honey pedicure for $40, per my nail tech's suggestion. Donna took her time and helped my toes look decent again! Loved the service and look forward to coming back soon. FYI, there's a lot of extras: 2% charge for cards (which seems standard), $5 extra charge for some higher quality kinds of nail polish, and they prefer you to tip them in cash. I usually go for the Infinite Shine OPI, but don't want to pay extra! I'll bring my own next time; which I asked about, and got the green light. I REALLY wanted to like this place. Really, I did! The inside is GORGEOUS! It feels more like a spa than a salon. Very relaxing. The pedicure was awesome! I got the lavender pedicure with paraffin wax. Not sure of the name of who did it but she did great. I do wish she would have used more pressure during the massage but it was still good. The ambiance in the pedicure room is great. Very dim lights and they even bring over a little lamp when you pick out your colors so you can see. They were also great with covid precautions. Plexiglass dividers, masks, gloves, and all the regular cleaning processes. Now the sad part. When it was time to get my nails done, I asked for a full set. They don't do acrylics but instead do powder dip as they say it is more natural and better for the nails, which is fine. However, Thong was pretty rough with my cuticles. Especially with the nail drill. He nicked me multiple times and it was really painful. I didn't say anything because this was my first time getting a full set and I thought maybe that's just what happens. The worst was when he had to use the alcohol to clean the nails. OUCH!!! It wasn't until later that I researched and realized that's not supposed to happen. I now have little scans on my cuticles from the nicks. Also, I wanted coffin shaped nails. Not sure if he just wasn't used to doing those, but they came out pretty uneven. He also filed down REALLY far on a couple of the sides of my nails and they now hurt as they are growing back. Sigh... This is easily the nicest salon I've ever been in. Love the spaced out manicure stations and ambiance of the pedicure room. I had a baby a couple of months ago, so I was long overdue for some "me" time and my nails desperately needed some attention. Overall, it was a bit pricier than what I'm used to, but I really enjoyed the experience and the time taken, so I'll definitely be back! I was greeted by Miss Tran, who got started on my manicure. A couple of my cuticles got snipped (I didn't feel it, and she apologized for it after noticing) while cleaning/shaping my nails, but she did a really good job otherwise. I wanted some purple and red smoke over black nails - something loosely inspired by WandaVision - but she was honest and said that she didn't think she'd be able to do that for me. I appreciated her honesty, and her patience with me while I reconsidered colors and designs. She attempted it, trying a few different colors before she went to help another client and had Phoebe take over. Phoebe was super sweet and tried to replicate what Miss Tran had done, but it was a little outside of her comfort zone, so we switched to something a bit easier. I really like the effect, so it worked out! I got the honey and milk pedicure with Phoebe after my manicure, which was such a nice treat. The honey scrub smells amazing! Trying to call to fix the issue but it's a fast busy. Sent my teenage daughters here and they were ripped off. My younger daughter told the person she wanted the basic peroxide. They showed her the page with the upgraded ones and she didn't thought that's all they had so she was forced to pay $50. My older daughter paid $70 for acrylics. I have never spent that much before. We had recently moved to the area and I got my nails done here once and it was okay, service was not the best and they push you to pay for cash - the checkout lady did everything short of refusing to take my card and told me there was a Wells Fargo near by and waited for me to get cash. It took us 3-4 hours to get a mani/pedi. Imagine the stress on a busy wedding week then spending hours sitting waiting at a salon. If this were the worst part I would be okay. But I had called and asked for acrylic nails and again confirmed when I arrived. The lady says yes sure sure. I don't normally do acrylic nails but I didn't want to risk chipping a nail before my wedding. Anywho the lady then starts with nails and uses dipping powder. I tell her that's not what I want. She says oh this is what we do at the beginning of the manicure. Then after a while later I learn they don't do acrylic at all. I ask if I can do gel instead. (WISH THEY WOULD HAVE TOLD ME THEY DONT DO THIS AT ALL INSTEAD OF LYING AND TRYING TO TRICK CUSTOMERS!!) So then she says I already started prepping the dip powder so it will be $80 extra to do the gel and that she didn't have enough time to switch it up. My mom stepped in and after much arguing and pleading as it was 2 days before my wedding she decided to do it. BUT I had to pay the extra fee. Ughhh. The worse part is my manicure was so sloppy, with color dripping over the edge of my fingertips unevenly. I had a gel pedicure and one toe nail polish completely fell off within a week and my dip powder + gel nails started chipping within 4 days. Needless to say I was disappointed on the biggest weekend of my life. Should have stuck to a place I know. HUGE waste of money. POOR QUALITY. Waste of time. I will never return in my life. I was recommended this place by a friend however it was not a good experience. I rarely write a bad review but I felt I had to for this place. The cost of my pedicure was supposed to be $45. The pedicure was crap. It was about 20 min only and they barely scrubbed my feet. Im on my feet all day for work so I look forward to that and getting the massage. I'm also a licensed cosmologist so I know how nails are supposed to be done and when they took off my old polish she literally took the cuticle clippers and cut chunks of the polish off and then just filed part down with a nail file. The polish wasn't even completely off. Then the message was so short and she didn't even really massage. She pretty much just let my legs and barely touched my feet...Then I went to pay and they told me my total was $65...to go from $45 to $65 is wild. I asked, was that just to get gel polish?? The guy said yes. $20 for gel is ridiculous! They didn't even tell me it cost more until I checked out. Terrible experience. Will never be going back. read more
