This was so delicious! We flew through Springfield and had time for a nice Sunday breakfast. We found this place on line, and were not surprised to see lots of people waiting outside. We decided to wait the 30 minutes, and were so glad we did! It was actually closer to 20 min, and worth every one. The food was delicious and the service was spectacular. They did omit an item from my omelette, but had it back in front of me in less than 5 minutes! Everyone got something they loved. My husband had a skillet, I made a custom omelette, my son had French toast and my daughter had mac and cheese. She can be picky about the mac and cheese she likes, but this one was really good. I love the food here, but the service is hit or miss. Today I came by myself and was randomly seated at a "2 top" in the middle of two isles next to the wait staff's expo station. I was bumped into twice by staff trying to rush around other wait staff grabbing food off of stands used to hold food on a busy weekend. I asked my waitress to move me and she stated I would have to go to the back of the line to get a new table (even though my food order was already placed). Then waiters proceeded to carry food orders over my head as I tried to eat, as they needed room to clear the congested expo area. Also, I never got the ketchup I requested. This made for a miserable dining experience. Suggestions: Do away with this table on busy weekends, you are doing your employees and the patrons sitting at this table a disservice. Also, have a talk with the kitchen staff, they all worked hard but very few looked presentable in a open kitchen; CLEAN ironed clothes and perhaps at least a Gailey's t-shirt... not shirts from random other places I assumed they worked at in the past. I had to think twice about this review, as I love this place but ownership needs to step up and get this hardworking staff organized, working efficiently, and presented in a professional manner. It wouldn't take much to get this restaurant turned around... hopefully they give me a a chance to update this review to something more respectable. read more

Came for breakfast this morning. Super efficient with the seating, seem to be doing well there. Also loved that there was self serve coffee while you wait. Service was pretty good, but felt like the time between ordering and getting the food out on the table was a bit long. Food was delish. I got the gingerbread pancakes, which was the special. Served with amazing cinnamon sugar butter and pecans. As well as eggs and hash. A hearty portion and well worth it. So delicious. Others got omelettes with toast and the toast was awesome! Hearty, fresh slices. None of that bagged grocery store crap (I can eat that at home). Plus the omelettes were stuffed with the toppings which was appreciated. A random yelp find but a pleasant one. My mom got the eggs Benedict - the hollandaise was amazing and she really enjoyed her breakfast. I had the country skillet with eggs over medium and it was also very tasty. Only downside was the side of biscuits and gravy - the gravy was a bit bland and the biscuit a bit dry. However, the heavy was the perfect addition to the country skillet. I also really enjoyed the texture of the hash browns - not too crunchy, not too soft. I plan on coming back. I was greeted and sat in a timely manner, the inside was decorated in a modern way and I loved all the fun colors and decorations on the wall. My server was Kennan (I'm not sure that's how you spell it) but he was awesome and made he me feel welcome as I am new to this state and this town. I absolutely loved their coffee and I probably had 2 and a half cups. To eat, I got eggs with sausage which was absolutely amazing and a nice waffle that came with maple syrup. I have been going to Gailey's for several years. Kinda of hit miss with the food. I sat in the kitchen dining area and watch the cooks. None of the cooks were wearing hair nets. The one cook had a really long beard and long hair and he wasn't wearing a hair net for his beard or hair. He was also the only one not wearing gloves. Not sure if wearing hair nets are required but if I owned Gailey's the cooks would all be wearing them. It just isn't appetizing to watch hair hanging over my food being cooked. read more

I have been here a few times & there is nothing that could ever make me go back. Long waits, slow service, terrible food, unfriendly staff & management. All around terrible. Last time it was just my husband and I. We ordered Bear Hugs. Things trickled out, 1 of our biscuits and gravy but not the other, then one of us got their eggs, but over 90 mins we did manage to get all the items we ordered. The problem was that the cook brought out my husband's eggs over easy, the whites were still clear. The egg couldn't have been in a pan for more than 30 seconds if that, you could see before he set them down they weren't cooked. My biscuits were so hard I physically could not cut them with a butter knife and fork, they were inedible. My bacon was so burned it broke into dust when I picked it up. After all was said and done, we didn't have one full meal between us that was edible and were told it would be another hour to remake the food. We instead asked for one of the meals to be taken off the bill so we could leave & hit a drive thru for better food. All they kept saying is "Well we are busy right now." So being busy means you can potentially kill ppl with food borne illnesses? read more

First time here. Went for breakfast on a Tuesday morning around 0930. Not very crowded. Hardcore early breakfast folks already departed. Took a seat at the bar. Multiple breakfast combos on the menu. Decided on "Bear Hug" on advice of the beautiful young lady behind the bar. Excellent hardy breakfast: 2 giant biscuits with ample sausage gravy, 2 eggs, 3 sausage patties, hash browns. Attentive service, perfectly made-to-order meal, and comfortable atmosphere. 5 stars in my book and definitely a prime breakfast spot. read more

Everything about this place is perfect! The food, the ambience and the service. Went here on a long weekend Sunday at peak time and we were still seated in about 10 minutes. They have the softest and creamiest banana walnut pancakes ever! The Omelettes and the side hash browns were well cooked and were a good serving size. The coffee here is pretty good too! The food is a combination of a traditional diner and English breakfast-inspired items. The coffee is good. I ordered the Southwest Omlette - it was tasty but a bit spicy for my taste. My husband ordered a relatively standard breakfast - the eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon was delicious and cooked well, their signature sweet potato hash browns were delicious. This charming diner was located in what was formerly a pharmacy. They had live music in the morning, which was an extra special touch. I do want to mention that their bathrooms were really unclean.
