The aesthetic makes the cafe. Former coffee shop and speciality tea shop barista here. I've been to Mozna twice with mixed success, and truly wish this place lived up to its aesthetic. The first time I visited, the shop was completely empty with no customers or staff in sight. I waited for ten minutes during which time I snapped some really great photos of the place for Yelp, but ended up leaving when no one ever came out. The café was cute and had their monkey mascot everywhere from murals to plushies, the pastries in the case looked yummy, the dark chocolate samples from around the world were interesting to try, and I really liked the idea of making my own chocolate like they advertised so I decided to try again another day. Unfortunately, the café is a little more out of the way and free parking in the downtown area is limited so it made it difficult to return as soon as I'd hoped to. On the second visit there were two customers and a single manager in shop, and I finally got to order. I opted for their Matcha Latte with Hazelnut which was, at first, okay at best. It was pretty smooth for the first half of the drink or so but was grassy in flavor, and the Hazelnut was dark chocolate like the rest of their chocolates in shop, so beware if you like a milkier chocolate flavor. I would have been less harsh on this drink if it wasn't for the fast that towards the end I ended up sipping a HUGE clump of unblended matcha. It was so bad I ended up pouring out the last of the drink to assess the unmixed matcha situation and was even more appalled to see the bottom of the cup. A few matcha flecks? Fine. But I've NEVER had so much matcha caked down at the bottom of a drink before this one. It was insulting that the manager who made this drink thought this was okay. As an ex-barista, I've said this before and I'll say it again: If you don't know how to make a drink, it does not need to be on your menu. It doesn't matter if you specialize in coffee and chocolate, that does not give you a pass on the other things. If it's on your menu, you need to know how to make it. 5 Stars for aesthetic, 2 Stars for the second worst matcha beverage I've had in my life. read more

This is a very cute little coffee and chocolate shop. They have a variety of chocolate samples, merch, pastries, and signature drinks on their menu. I happened upon Mozna by chance. I was supposed to go to a farmer's market nearby, but due to some anxiety, I decided to skip it and asked Siri to redirect me to the nearest coffee shop. It took me to Mozna. I paid $2 for public parking, which I guess isn't terrible given the area, and was surprised to find a handful of patrons working on their computers and others ordering their drinks. This part is not the reason for the dock on the star, but the customers before me were, to put it as nicely as possible, a little obnoxious. They talked loudly, both to each other and on the phone, and as someone who was already overstimulated, it put a bit of a damper on my overall experience. In any case, the barista was very cool. I wish she had someone helping her because it took some time to receive my order (a cortado, Mozna mocha, and a pastry). The cortado was not my favorite. It was a struggle to drink the whole thing. It lacked some of that smooth velvety-ness I like. The Mozna Mocha, on the other hand, told me where this location shined - in its chocolate. It was an excellent mocha! I didn't eat the pastry until the next day. When I did, I really liked it. I wish I stayed a little longer to try out the chocolate bars, since the mocha was so good. I enjoy Mozna so much. It's a great place. Beautifully designed with enough seating for a large group of people. They also make chocolate bars. Such a great date experience. Just call ahead because there is usually one person working there and this takes time. This allows you to have a great experience with the store being able to still run. The chocolate is amazing. My friend and I went in at 4:45 PM five minutes before closing on Sunday, March 23, and as we were deciding our order the time past 5 PM to which we were greeted by the barista saying, "Just so you know we close at 5, so can you hurry up and order so that I can close up." She was very rude, not welcoming, and quite honestly abrasive! I asked for her name and she said she didn't want to give it to me because I was going to be writing a bad review. Nice little coffee/chocolate shop. I really wish that Austin had more places like this, there's pretty much no chocolate shops which is disappointing but does make you appreciate it in other places. They have a nice selection of different size bars with different countries of origin, protein bars, pastries, drinks, and lots of samples as well so you can try before you decide. They even have some savory items like muffins, croissants, and breads. A classy and upscale location for a chocolate and coffee cafe, with a super friendly barista and many, many chocolates from all over the world to taste. We bought bars from Mexico and Venezuela! The space is comfy with couches and padded benches, and the eclectic world cocktail music was relaxing and delightful. I could have spent the morning there easily. We enjoyed baked goods -- try the croissant with a shot of liquid chocolate to dip it in, OHMYGOSH so good -- and the chocolate muffin was a triple chocolate delight. Definitely worth the return trip. NOTE: as of now (7.26.22), Broadway is partially closed to traffic, so GPS guidance is a little dodgy. I finally got the chance to stop by Mozna. This coffee shop recently opened on. Broadway in San Antonio. Because they close so early, I've had a hard time getting in there to try their coffee. But today was the day! Parking is on the street with the meter or behind the building, which I had a hard time finding. Inside, Mozna is sooo cute! The atmosphere has a nice blend of modern and retro feel. And it's a nice place to sit and visit, study, or just have a cup of coffee. Their menu consists of the usual coffee drinks, pastries (some homemade), and CHOCOLATES! They have various dark chocolates from around the world that you can sample or purchase. I tried a chocolate from Tanzania and it was delicious. I ordered a decaf vanilla latte with almond milk. Sadly, I was a little disappointed. The latte had a weak and watered down taste, but had a strong coffee aftertaste. I've been wanting to visit Mozna for a while and I was finally able to go. It's a coffee shop that specializes in chocolate from all around the world. The workers are extremely nice and friendly. They had free samples of chocolate for people to try and a variety of their own chocolates for purchase. They had plenty of seating and it was quiet on a weekday afternoon. I ordered a peppermint mocha which was so rich and huge. I loved how they added crushed peppermint as a garnish. The peppermint mocha is a seasonal flavor but the Mozna mocha is their signature drink they always have which is more chocolatey than most mochas! There is a free parking lot behind the the storefront which is nice. There isn't a lot of other businesses near the Mozna so the street feels kind of dead, but other than that the establishment itself is great! read more

On Friday, September 16, 2022, at approximately 1500 hours I, Dante G., responded to Mozna Chocolate & Coffee Company located at 614 Broadway Street located in the jurisdiction of the city of San Antonio, county of Travis, and state of Texas, in reference to an investigative follow up. I entered through the outward opening door located on the A- Side of the business, closer to the D-A Corner. I moved to the counter which covers a majority of the D-side interior of the business. I was met by a middle aged male who mistook me for a returning customer. Once it became known that I was not. The male immediately began to explain the various chocolates available. The male provided a sample of the Mexican chocolate from the chocolate fountain. The sample was Mexican chocolate and was amazingly smooth. Think of the smoothest most flavorful you've ever had. This was better. So, I ordered a Monza Mocha with an extra shot of espresso. I sat back and listened to some of the best music (Bee Gees and Michael Jackson) and waited the few minutes for the drink to arrive. I'm not a huge mocha fan, it's just chocolate milk to me. This had all the taste of the chocolate sample and then some. I hated drinking it because it meant that it would end. My friend ordered a Matcha Latte. Thus drink was described as having a more authentic matcha flavor, superior to those places that use a mix. The drinks were accompanied my another sample of chocolate, thus time served on a small cookie. Pure heaven.
