Not the best Nekter Juice Bar in San Antonio. That title goes to the other location in Timberwood Park, but since this Nekter Juice Bar was much closer to my hotel during my stay in San Antonio, it would have to make do. Luckily, it was good enough that I was willing to make multiple visits during my stay. The location here is more formidable because it's closer to most other shops whereas the other location in Alamo City would be a food desert if the plaza it was located in didn't exist. I came in to use a reward for $2 off any 24+ oz smoothie or juice. Smoothies were always my go to, but this time, I wanted to go with a juice. Which one did I go for? The Large Greenie. Large because they say "Go big or home", right? Greenie because I wanted to make sure I got enough of those nutritious greens that day. When I checked in on Yelp, I also noticed a 20% off Yelp check-in offer, a rather generous offer if you ask me. I asked if both the $2 off and the 20% could be applied, and the male cashier (Aaron?) said he'd try to make something work. I'm not sure what he did, but the $2 off reward remained on my account, and the savings ended up being more than 20%, so I paid less than expected, which was quite nice! Did the juice taste good? Not really, but I definitely wasn't expecting it to. It did taste healthy, but fresh? Hmm tough call. I thought the ingredients could have been better/fresher, but I won't speculate any further at this point. I came on National Smoothie Day for $6 smoothies, and I chose the Mango Delight, which is comparable to the Strawberry Aloha I had at the other location. Not bad, but I wish they had the Strawberry Aloha here as well. On my third visit, I went with the Recovery Juice, using the $2 off that failed to come off on my first visit. I didn't want to haggle the cashier over the Yelp check-in offer again, especially since that cashier didn't really want to be working. I mean, it's not the most glamourous job in the world, but at least show some customer appreciation why don't you?! In fact, the boys running that shop have been friendlier to me than the girls running that shop. How even?! As for the Recovery Juice itself, I don't have any different comments than what I mentioned for Large Greenie. I appreciate how the air-conditioned shop also has free WiFi, and the login info is right at the order counter. That way, I could hop onto Yelp while enjoying my drink and see what my Yelp friends are up to in sub-100 degree weather. Overall, it's not a bad Nekter. If I lived in San Antonio, I'd make this my go to unless I were to live closer to the other location. I just hope service gets better here because it can really go a long way in this day and age. Also, the day I posted this review is the same day Nekter opened its 200th location. Congrats Nekter on the milestone!
Fresh and healthy! Shout out to a friend who introduced me to Nekter and the app. Download the app to obtain points with every purchase and get a free bowl on your next visit! I knew I wanted an açaí bowl over a smoothie.. a friendly employee made suggestions and I decided on the açaí mango bowl. Note - The mango and cashew milk is blended into açaí base which gives it a lighter hue in color. Pineapple chunks, not mango top the bowl, in addition to coconut, granola, strawberry, and banana. My friend got the açaí banana berry bowl- so pretty and colorful. You can't go wrong with the bowls and honestly I had a hard time finishing it because I was full : D Plenty of seating inside, but we decided to sit outside, chat, and enjoy our bowls.
I love Nekter but this location was not my favorite. The one in Timberwood park is the best. As soon you enter it felt like it was so dark inside and the cashier wasn't welcoming. I order my usual coffee kickstart smoothie and just by the look at it I can tell I wasn't gonna like it. They made it to sweet and added more protein than coffee. The decor is cute but still not the best location.
These guys go above and beyond every time. Best smoothies I've found among 5 plus Açaí Bowl joints in SATX. They are consistent, friendly as a management and service team. Finally a solid açaí bowl/juice/smoothie spot in San Antonio! I came here on opening day, and while there were some things they need to iron out, the juice and bowl I ordered were delicious! I got The Greenie, which has kale, spinach, parsley, celery, cucumber, lemon, and red apple. The combination was super yummy and all the ingredients are freshly juiced to order. The Açaí Mango Bowl was also made to order, and generously topped with pineapple, strawberry, banana, and coconut. Employees are also super friendly and welcoming! I can't wait to come back to try all their other menu items! Also make sure you sign up via their app for their loyalty program!
Nekter is a big chain juice bar/acai bowl spot that offers fresh ingredients, but lacks anything extra that makes me want to return. I ordered the peanut butter açaí bowl and recovery juice. Bowl: açaí blended with banana, strawberries, dates, peanut butter, and house made cashew milk. It come out super watery, like a smoothie rather than a thick bowl. The açaí flavor was not there and the peanut butter was very basic, like jiffys (not a bad thing but I expected more flavor). Also, I didn't want green apples and asked to sub with any other fruit, but they left out the extra fruit all together and just gave me strawberries and bananas. Lastly, the bowls are one size and if you can see in my pictures, the açaí to fruit to granola ratio was not worth $10. Juice: Beet, ginger, kale, orange, and celery. Smooth texture but I wish it had more orange or ginger because it was watered down by the celery juice. Overall, I will not return to Nekter. There are several açaí bowl and juice spots in the Alamo Heights area that feature better and tastier options.
We stopped by Nekter since we had dinner in the area. Justine had reached out to invite us. With a Yelp check in, you get 20% off. I ordered the Acai Mango Bowl and my husband had the Mango Delight. For the Mango Bowl, the mango is blended in instead of fruit on top. Everything was freshly made. Dad only had a bite to taste because he was so full. I saved some to eat for breakfast tomorrow. Grand opening is this weekend so check out this place for smoothies and acai bowls! There are 2 tables outdoors!
I am always a bit skeptical to try juice bars because the often taste "generic" like something you can buy at the store in a freezer, but Nekter is truly fresh! I tried the dragon fruit bowl and the toxic flush juice and the were both amazing! The bowl was very smooth, fresh, and I love food with lots of textures. The juice had a fabulous ginger punch that stings the back of your throat, I love it! You can taste the freshness of all the juices. It did take a bit long but when things are being made fresh it is totally worth the wait. So glad I got to try them out, this will definitely be a frequent stop for me.

Hint: there's a 20% off coupon for checking in on Yelp, and even better - your first smoothie or bowl is FREE if you download their app and sign up for their rewards program. An awesome perk to get people in the door! I opted for their Health Nut smoothie with peanut butter (you can sub almond butter for $1 more) and it was 5/5 fabulous! The perfect flavor combination for something creamy and delicious without being terribly sweet. Probably one of my favorite smoothies! The menu has all sorts of smoothies and bowls, and you can customize as needed. They are a bit pricy (you're looking at about $8+ for a small 16 oz. smoothie), but most smoothie places cost this much and if you're going to spend that much on a drink you may as well go somewhere good (or learn to re-create at home). Overall, very satisfied with my order and can't wait to visit again to try something else!
I got the dragon fruit bowl and it was divine! It was light and refreshing and the fruit was fresh. What a great way to cool down on a hot day. The ambiance was chill and the staff was friendly. Can't wait to go back! Also not pictured but equally delicious was the Dragon Fruit Refresher. It's $2.99, but if you purchase a bowl you can get it for $1.99. That was so delicious. I wish they had a bigger size to indulge in this all day long.
Lovely atmosphere, clean environment, clean ingredients. I got a small pink flamingo smoothie, and it was so refreshing and filling. You can taste the fresh ingredients that are used to make the smoothie in the smoothie. Or, you can just watch them make it behind the counter. The staff was really friendly. I had to wait because there were so many people in line to get their products. That was also a really telling sign that this place is good.

The young man answered all my questions and was super nice. As for the menu, they have bowls, smoothies and fruit juices. I love that they offer "functional" options for the health nut in me including wellness shots of ginger or turmeric. You can add immunity, protein or metabolism boosts for $1. Tea refreshers include black tea, passion or strawberry green tea. The To Go spots includes juices and healthy food items. Nektar has cleanse programs for purchase as well. This place is amazing! I stopped in knowing exactly what I wanted....until I saw their menu. Everything on their menu sounds amazing so it was difficult for me to decide. Service was knowledgeable of all their items and products which helped me in my decision making. Service was also super friendly which made me buy more than I planned. Grabbed a chocolate peanut butter smoothie with whey protein (alternative is pea protein), two ginger shots, one turmeric shot and a seasonal pumpkin pie smoothie too. $36.10 The ginger shot is quite tart and wakes you up rightly. The tumeric shot is good, not as harsh as the ginger shot at all, quite palatable. Their napkins are Nintendo Switch advertisement. The pumpkin pie is decent. The chocolate peanut butter is good, once in a while I get little bits of the cocoa nibs. It's chilly inside of this place, could be the open Good To Go cooler blowing air? read more

I have always heard great things about Nekter in Austin but never get the chance to go when I visit. Our local business is equally amazing! The dragonfruit bowl is flavorful and naturally sweet and the berry banana blast was really sweet but very good as well. Nice to know of a go to place when I'm in Alamo heights or surrounding areas! They have indoor seating as well and a nice sign in doors. I so saw they have an al carte cooler section with goodies in it as well read more

Guys this place is GOOD! It's healthy and tastes amazing! I'm usually not one to get green juices because of the taste, but on a whim I got their toxin flush and I couldn't get enough of it! Also grabbed a few bowls, and they were both tasty as well. I was really loving the immunity bowl, esp with the chia pudding! Like all juice bars and smoothie bowl places though, it is a bit pricy, but I guess that comes with the territory, especially when it's good for your health nowadays. If you've got a couple extra $$ too spend on some good stuff though, go here for sure! read more

Nekter in Alamo Heights has tasty recipes and friendly service. We saw this location pop up in our neighborhood where a frozen yogurt joint used to be. This is an upgrade because we can enjoy tasty treats that are full of delicious fruits and nourishing protein. The PB Mocha smoothie is creamy and has a dark coffee finish. The Açai Banana Berry bowl is loaded with fresh fruit and granola. My only word of caution is for drivers. Be watchful in the tight parking lot -- big luxury SUVs are popular in this neighborhood, and sometimes they make fast moves in small spaces. Also the speed limit (including school zone) is well patrolled on this stretch of Broadway. read more

I found my new açaí bowl place! Love that it's more natural tasting, not overly sweetened. They are the perfect portion size and the cost of a bowl is around $9-11, fairly priced. There are some places that are charging crazy amounts and this is not one! Love the cleanliness of the location, super easy menu and made fresh there. A very nice little juice shop in a nice party if Alamo Heights. I learned that Nekter was a pretty big chain, but I was pretty impressed. The inside was clean and had about 6 tables. A good menu and kind staff. Jade was helpful. They looked to have a variety of juices, presses, smoothies, and bowls. The açaí bowl was a good size for the price I thought. Yum!!!!! This bowl was super good and really reasonably priced. I'm a big proponent of getting a huge serving for a decent price. That's exactly what this place was! The bowl is pretty massive compared to other popular açaí bowls in the San Antonio area and I think cheaper too. Everything about the bowl was really fresh. The fruit was great and the dragon fruit base was the chef's kiss! So refreshing and delicious! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I can't wait to come back here! Came after work and was very pleased with both the service and the dragonfruit açaí bowl I ordered. The store wasn't busy so I was helped very quickly and was able to enjoy the bowl in their nice indoor dining area. My least favorite topping was the pineapple chunks on top of the bowl but the bow was a very generous serving size. Definitely want to try the other options they have. read more

My photo makes the bowl look small bc of the camera angle but the fruit bowl is actually very filling! I got the dragon fruit bowl and its very tangy, tarty, not too sweet, very very refreshing. I wish the granola layer was thicker bc it was probably the best topping! the strip mall its in has the signs all the same color so I almost missed it. Who doesn't love a good cold pressed juice, smoothie, or Açaí bowl... Here is a great new place in Alamo Height nestled away in a small strip of stores. There is ample parking and a few outdoor seats. The inside is nice and bright with a good amount of indoor seating. We were greeted promptly when we came in and there was a couple ahead of me which was good. It gave me time to look over the menu. They have several options of cold pressed juices to detox and energize that can me made on the spot as well as bottled options if you wanted to purchase a detox regimen. If your not a fan of cold pressed juice then smoothies may be you go to drink..which they also have plenty to choose from. However I chose to get a bowl ( I am a fan of these)... I got the berry açaí ( blueberries, strawberries, banana, hempseed granola) for my son and I got the mango açaí ( mango, strawberry, pineapple, coconut, and hempseed granola). The small size is enough to share between two. We didn't have to wait long either to get our goodies... they were packed to the rim. Definitely a nice treat on a hot day! read more

Yelp elite event!! Arrived on a Monday around 12:30. Parking was a little tricky as this shopping center is a busy place. Walking into Nekter Juice Bar was nice. Very clean and the employees were very welcoming. Only three customers inside and nobody outside, probably because it was too hot out! I went to check out the restroom because there was a lady ordering when I got to the counter. Restroom was very clean. I got back to the counter and told the young girl I was there for the Yelp Elite event. She proceeded to tell me that I could pick a bowl, juice, or smoothie. I looked through all the choices and the bowl looked good to me. I picked the Dragon Fruit bowl. It was very appealing to the eye! Bright pink/purple on the bottom. This was so refreshing on such a hot day. Was not too sweet, the fruit and agave on top was just the right amount. Definitely will be going back this weekend to try a juice or smoothie. I love the hours here. They open at 7 and close at 8 perfect time for smoothie and açaí bowls. The store is super clean and employees are friendly. I liked the dragonfruit açaí bowl and will be back to try more again soon! read more
