My wife and I has just completed a living room design with Ethan Allen which included window treatments. We decided to hold off on their window treatments and investigate options in the Downtown LA Garment District. We did this over several frustrating weekends until we found Galaxy Design. It was so refreshing to find a designer so passionate about their work and designs. Galaxy took our ideas to a new level with a very unique and contemporary design. They came out to our home and helped us select the right color pallet and fabric to work with existing interior design. Installation was very professional and clean. The final product looks amazing. Our friends and family are always commenting on how beautiful and unique our window treatments are. The real benefit, however, was not only the product and design, but the price. For the price that Ethan Allen wanted for one room, we were able to to do two rooms with Galaxy and still have budget leftover. Highly recommended. I would definitely use them again. Great Job! Horrible!!! I purchased a walk in cooler and freezer from Galaxy Design. From the moment I got it up and running it was a problem. First the cooler, then the freezer. I contacted them on several occasions and consistently got the run around. The compressor on the cooler went bad two weeks after start up with all my product and then the relay on my freezer. This was the worst experience/expensive mistake I've ever made. Don't do it. You will regret it read more

What a great find in the DTLA Garment District. I went in not knowing anything about drapery. Steve guided me to a awsome set of drapes. Center Close, Double Pleated with Black out feature. Steve came out to first see if the look of the drapes will be a good match for my loft. Second was the correct measurment. Perfect. As a store owner and being conscious of interior design cues relative to trend and different cultures, I was always looking for accent pieces that would set apart my product line from the majority of other stores. After some shopping in the downtown district, I happened upon Galaxy Design by chance. Upon entering the store, my jaw dropped at the fabulous and gorgeous products that I saw. I have to say that I made a great decision as our clients are just as enthusiastic about the new line as I am. I came downtown to the Garment District after being shocked by the prices quoted to me for a single, small, simple drape by two retail shops. Galaxy Design was my first stop, and as it turned out, my only stop. Steve has good aesthetic sense, and we came up with a good design quickly. He understood what we needed, and at a price that I thought was reasonable. We ordered, and did not feel the need to shop other stores. The drapes were made very quickly, and I was very pleased with the quality. My only negative was that the cost of installation seemed very high. I chose to install them myself (very straightforward, if you are moderately handy--you might need a hacksaw, or preferable, a tube cutter). There is easy parking in a structure directly across the street. read more

Everybody at Galaxy Design is so friendly,patient, creative and customer oriented. I was walking past Galaxy Design and decided to go in because there were so many glitzy, regal and beautiful things that caught my eye. I have always had a strong sense of how I like my home to look without a professional opinion. So basically whenever a designer has offered to assist on a project, I have always declined. Funny thing is, Steve, approached me in the store and he was so friendly, he wasnt pushing me to try and buy something. We just had friendly conversation. Next thing I knew I was telling him about a theater room I was creating in my home.I explained my vision and color scheme to him, he sat down and sketched it out. I couldnt believe he put my vision on paper within a couple of minutes. He knew exactly what I wanted without hesitation. I knew then that Galaxy Design had a new customer. Steve had beautiful fabric combination ideas, drove to my house and spent great quality time there so we could achieve all of my visions. He was so wonderful, I even had him design and make draperies for my kitchen, family room, guest bathroom and of course the theater. Steve suggested a valance with rhinestones and everybody loves this masterpiece. I cant rave enough about the quality,professionalism and totally willing to work within my budget. Diana was also very friendly. She would call me with updates on the project just because she was excited for me to get my finished project installed. We live in Oakland but have family in Los Angeles and knew this was the place to get drapes. Excellent customer service. They were flexible with pricing and when we made a measurement error, they were nice enough to make the adjustments with no cost. The shipping was pretty cheap as well. They used to be really nice when they first opened. I have been shopping for five years but last few i have felt totally ignored seems like they only focus on big projects where they can make big money and online orders but they r forgetting that people who comes to the store in person need to be attended more properly than people ordering online coz they can't get offended by ur behavior. Last time i waited so long Steve to give me some ideas for my living room so that I could go ahead n leave the order the very same day but he was busy with a person on computer guiding through installation i guess which I didn't mind at all n then after that two more ladies popped in the store and instead of him attending me answer few of my questions he straight went to them n started on their project n me here still standing being wanted to show some pix n finally had to interrupt and asked for two minutes of his time and he totally denied on looking at the pix and told me to email them to me I don't have time right now. So all my wait didn't mean anything to him. Very disappointed at Steve. I have been sending my whole family here but not anymore. Not gonna be shopping here anymore. read more
