I had an amazing experience today at Elegant Nails & Spa in Roanoke. I went after work without an appointment for a mani/pedi and assumed that I'd need to wait. I was greeted promptly and seated even though it was rather busy. The place is large and clean. I requested an hombre solar nail fill (first time - usually get dip) with Tom and an Elegant Spa pedicure with Angela. Tom did a great job with my mani - nails weren't too thick and the filing the perfect shape. Angela used just the right amount of pressure for the massage and hot stone. The hot towel and paraffin felt AMAZING. Pricing is reasonable and it's very convenient. I will be definitely be going back. read more

I really wish I could remember the name of the woman who did my nails, I do t believe all technicians are the same. However, started off by informing her that I like my toe nails a little longer (I don't like to see skin on the end of my toes). She did great, except on both my big toes she cut them short. So you can't see skin anywhere except on my big toes. Looks ridiculous. Also my pedicures usually last 4 to 5 weeks. About 3 days went by and polish was already chipping. I have gone to this Nail Salon several times now. While they have some proficient technicians, their customer service just sucks! During my last visit at the end of March, 2022, my manicurist abruptly announced that now "someone else" would be finishing up my manicure and would take over in "5 minutes." After 10 minutes, I had to nudge the receptionist to have some one come over to finish the job. Apparently, the other worker had a pre-determined appointment; and she had not made arrangement for some one else to take over before she attended to me. Today( April 22, 2022), I went in for both a pedicure and a dipping manicure. I was seated with two nail salon workers. I had very hastily selected a nail-color when I had sat down; while I had my nails still wrapped up in cotton and foil, I asked him if I could take a second look at the color pallet since I was having second thoughts about the color I had initially selected. At this, he became very agitated and announced that he would no longer be able to do my manicure. And he hadn't even started the process of the actual manicure yet! I said that he was being very rude and he couldn't treat a customer like that. He ignored me, got up, pointed to some other manicurist who was busy doing another lady's nails, as the person who would do my manicure "as soon as she was finished." I reported this to the manager on duty, who tried to tell me that he didn't speak good English. I explained that it was his attitude rather that his command over any language that was unacceptable. Even after this, I started waiting; But when I was told the wait would be at least 15 minutes, I had had enough! I paid for my manicure and with my nails still wrapped in foil, I left the place. I have been coming to this salon for around 7 months consistently. In the beginning they were great, they always met my expectations and made sure I left with the nails I wanted. However, lately when I come in for a fill or fix I will start with one of the women but end up with Anthony. Anthony is very nice, but he always makes my nails look below average. He barely shapes or files the nails so they all come out mismatched, super flat and shapeless, or way too thick. Not to mention that when Anthony does my nails I am always there longer than I expect because he is always getting up to go do something somewhere else, he even got up to go smoke in the middle of my service one time. I want to be able to trust Galaxy with my nails, but at this rate I may as well just find somewhere else. I take pride in my nails and I want them to look good, I feel bad saying no to Anthony doing my nails, but he really just doesn't seem to care about client satisfaction. read more

The most horrible place to go to. All the nail tech kept saying is how time consuming it is to solar nails and how he didn't have any of his nail tools and supplies for the acrylic nails. He said they are at the shop he used to work at! Seriously! Basically all they want to do is dips. Dipped nails do not last me not even one week. They wanted to charge an extra $10 for the coffin shape and $5 for the gel top coat. They nickle and dime you to death. Still the best place to go is Cime nails in Keller. I will not go back to Galaxy nails EVER! I went home and couldn't stand my nails so I cut them off and went to Come nails to have the rest soaked off. If you're in a hurry, this place is great - they are in a HUGE hurry. Everything is clean and the well maintained, but my nail tech was ready to be done the moment she sat down. I told her I liked the dip a little thinner and not too thick. I've never had it as thick as she did it. She actually redid two fingers Bc they were crooked - her observation, not mine. I visited today for the first time, and I had a wonderful experience. They use liners and fresh tools every time. They make sure they understand what you want, and answer any questions you might have. the water was perfect, the staff was friendly and the massage was wonderful. Please don't waste your time here. I went to get black gel with sparkle on the ring finger. The tech kept telling me to take out my nails before the timer was up. This resulted in them getting ruined from being half dry. They kept getting wavy from the gravity of holding my hands certain ways for her to paint. I kept pointing it out just to be told i was being "too picky for her to deal with." She also forgot to put the top coat on about four fingers, and the sparkle wasn't done nicely. Once "finished," I noticed a bit of black gel on the top of my hand and sparkle gel on the inside of my finger. Instead of using polish remover, she buffed my skin with a nail buffer and drew a tiny bit of blood (the picture is of a day later). My nails were cut extremely short and were painful. I just wanted to leave the entire time. I ended up going to Lavish nails in Keller(love them!) and the tech seriously could not believe that a "professional" nail tech did that to me. read more

My mom and I decided to treat ourselves and try this new place out ... There was a wait so we waited, they wanted to seat us separately and I told her we didn't mind waiting to seat together and the lady made a face about it. When we finally got seated together one of the ladies came over and started doing my nails and like 20 minutes later another lady started doing my mom's nails. Lady that did my nails did a good job, but the lady that STARTED doing my mom's nails was rude the whole time ... my mom asked her for a little bit more dip in one of her nails and she got extremely mad and started yelling "I have another client waiting for me and I don't have time for this" then she called her boss and started yelling in her language so we couldn't understand anything that she said. She got up packed all her stuff and went to do her clients nails, she left my mom there and my mom had to wait another 30 minutes for another technician to come and finish the job.... all of this happened because my mom asked for a little bit more dip? Right when you walk in someone welcomes you. Everyone is very family and the atmosphere is great and relaxing. The owner makes you feel welcomed and helps out.
