The next day he was able to come over with his son and snake a drain that was suspected to be clogged. After five minutes, they were able to get our drain unclogged. Bill made some recommendations on what to do for the future, how to properly take care of our drain and make sure that we don't have any more issues, and even suggested in due time repairing some of our old piping, whenever it was convenient for us. Prices seemed very reasonable, and we're not trying to be gouged in someone's time of need. I would recommend Drains Unlimited in a heartbeat and look forward to doing more business with them to continue the upkeep of my home in Livonia.

The waterproofing and finishing sides are completely separate from one another and do not communicate. We found this out the hard way after booking them for our projects. We received the opposite treatment, temperament, and professionalism from the same people referenced on other reviews (Dan the Project Coordinator mainly). The lack of communication between ourselves and the company/workers as well as between the waterproofing and finishing sides was lacklaster and, most times, non-existent. While Basements plus will acknowledge and apologize for the "experiences" we had, the "experience" will never be something they take financial ownership for... and we have proof of that. Most of our issues lie with the process involved, the lack of accountability from the people involved, and the company's lack of accountability for the burdens my wife and I ended up with to keep things moving. Our bi-level house flooded multiple times in our downstairs. Prior to Basements Plus waterproofing, a plumber put in an emergency storm drain that fed into our sum pump. This was relayed to Basements Plus and was clearly attached to the sum pump that was being replaced. After waterproofing was "completed", the emergency storm drain was never tied back into the new sum pump and our downstairs flooded again. They had to come back out and fix their error with the sum pump. No all, but our main issues (we have so much more, please ask us): -You will get an App that is meant to provide you a daily schedule so you know what work is being supposed to be done when and who will be at the house. This schedule will NOT be updated automatically and will be useless quickly. The ONLY way we got this updated was repeatedly asking. -Due to the bi-level home, we asked for a door to be put at the bottom of the stairs. It took SIX WEEKS for the project coordinator to put one in. HIS original suggestion was for a zipper door. When asked the next week about a zipper door, Dan was confused on what that was. We ended up with a magnet door that was installed in the wrong place, had to be moved by me, and did not function as well as hoped. -When going through the process of picking out cabinets, countertops, and accessories in the showroom, we were not presented prices for the options. -We had multiple occasions where the waterproofing and finishing would overlap. Neither side knew what the other was doing and would interfere with themselves. In one instance, we were called that materials would be dropped off the next day; the truck backed into our driveway with materials 1 minute later. -We had power knocked out to multiple rooms upstairs one day. Workers took 0 accountability until forced to. -Beware! This company does NOT prime and paint before laying flooring down. This was confirmed by multiple workers. Due to this, our flooring had white trim paint soak through the tape that was on it for 2 months. Almost every 4 inches of the floor against a wall is dulled in color now. -This company also does not grout tile in the bathroom. That is on you if you want it. -We asked for a new project Coordinator and, instead, just got a middle-man between us and the Coordinator. -Company threw away brackets for blinds, ceiling fans, and barn doors and all had to be replaced. -When Project Coordinator went out of town, we had no work done at our house. Company confirmed this is not how it is supposed to be, but that's exactly how it worked for us. At the end, we told Basements Plus we were done and we would take care of the rest ourselves. We coordinated FAR too much of this ourselves and were exhausted with the lack of communication and accountability. We asked for compensation back for all of the errors and work that became ours. Their "good faith" offer was 2% of our total paid (which didn't include plumbing costs) and would have to sign an NDA. We would never accept that offer and have so much more to say!

A date and time were scheduled, but no one showed up. A call to them indicated a lack of professionalism and process where apparently the service rep had and took the option of not coming to the appointment, or calling to cancel. Such geographic discrimination is ridiculous, especially since they are located in Southfield, not exactly a tony suburb to flip their noses at business in Detroit. I found them overall to be amateur, unprofessional, and unworthy of further consideration.

Review # 529…read more Tuesday, 12/30/2025 My review is based on a referral from a reliable Roofing Company I've known since 2005, to have Resurrection Brick Business view, estimate and to replace old worn layers of bricks on 2 chimneys near tops on My 35 year old colonial home. This year in April was a damaging wind and hail storm that ripped off, the backyard upper roof and family room area of shingles. Finally in August the roofers completed the 10 hour job and we kind enough to point out in camera photos of the two cracked brick areas on 2 chimneys. After 3 days I called Resurrection Brick for a Free Chimney inspection since they use a Drone camera as well with overall details. History: I have attached several photos explaining this professional brick business with help and approval from their website called "Resurrection Brick, Family Owned & Operated, Licensed & Insured." From the start with Sales Rep Matthew, he was kind and detailed with his conversation that was slow and not rushed plus explaining the process of brick replacement, employees and workmanship. He even brought over several Brick Samples to match up the next day for a 35 year old Colonial Home. The Contract was written up and in one day I was approved for their financing with U S Bank. I was relieved since the roof replacement claim and deductible wiped out my cash flow and 2 other unplanned Summer projects. :-( This company is on Google, Facebook and Now YELP with My Review! Buckle up. This is going to be a long one…read more If anyone needs masonry/construction done, stay far away from this company. I needed some work done on my front porch. They charged the hell out of me. Almost $7000 to replace some outer bricks, remove my old steps and place new ones, and do a little tuckpointing under my window. I thought the work seemed good but when I initially posted it on Facebook I had several people tell me the steps weren't up to code. I called Chris, the project manager to express my concerns. His response was "which people? Who are these people?" When I told him some people on social media told me they are not up to code. One of them being a former city inspector for city of Detroit. Chris told me he could look at it but that they were up to code. Not too long after that, an inspector from city of Dearborn gave me a notice that the work had multiple violations, being that the steps were not of equal heights, no permit was pulled, no four foot footing was installed, and that they were not even licensed to work in the city of Dearborn so they were getting a ticket for that. Chris stopped by my house that evening to tell me city of Dearborn called him and in order to correct the work I needed to reimburse them for the permit and would need to pay them $1000 for the four foot footing. I was a bit taken aback but soon realized I should not pay for a violation that they committed. I wanted to speak with the owner instead I got Brittanie the operations manager who told me to "calm down" and "you would just have to pay $1000 for the four foot footing." She told me they are a licensed residential builder and that they are licensed to work in the city of Dearborn. The city inspector confirmed with me the next day that they weren't licensed to work in the city of Dearborn so she lied to me about that. I decided to have a different company correct their work. I wanted it done legally and with the way they did the steps, they were a tripping hazard and I didn't want to get sued. The other company pulled the permit and corrected their work. Unfortunately when Resurrection Brick did the work we financed through the bank they use to finance which is US Bank and the finance company is Wisetack. I tried to dispute it with them but they told me there was nothing they could do. I spoke to a lawyer who told me the bank shouldn't have given them the lump sum and they should have had me sign off that I approved of the work. I asked the finance company about me signing off on the work and giving my approval. I never did that after they were done. They explained that when I applied for the loan I checked off that I approved the work they did. How can I approve something if I never saw it? I asked the bank to send me proof of that and they told me they couldn't send me any proof of that. So there are issues with the financial institution Resurrection Brick chooses to use. Resurrection Brick also never gave me a copy of a signed contract. Now, I am going to be taking this to small claims court

We compared with several different companies and decided with John McCarter and I am glad we did. Our experience started with Clyde, who really did win this deal for them. He was the ONLY one who brought us any kind of mock up for our house, offered design suggestions, and even gave us advice for our roof for a future project. I highly suggest you ask for him. He explained the entire project and how it would work. Next we worked with James, who did final field measures. And double crossed the t's and dotted the i's to make sure everything was exactly what we wanted before they ordered. We very much appreciated this. While we were working with James, we had an attic inspection done by Jim who caught a leak in our attic! So added bonus, always better to find that sooner. When you have a project this large, things ARE GOING to go wrong. The important thing is how does the company handle things when they go wrong. And I can give nothing but the highest praise to this company and specifically our Project Manager John Giese in this regard. He always got in front of every issue, quickly communicated everything and kept the project on track The job is split into separate crews, Vas was the Forman for the actual siding. And to this day I can't believe how fast and efficient his crew was. The gutter team of Hunter, Aubrey, and Jason were quick and offered great guidance! Helped us consolidate a downspout! One less for me to step on! Tony came out and quickly fixed our before mentioned attic leak. Dan and Josh took fantastic care of us when installing all our doors. They spent extra time making sure they were PERFECT. They also did painting work to fix some issues with the siding. Julio and Jeicob made our house truly look BRAND NEW!
