A big bite of cappelini in oil, touch of garlic, and some delicious mushrooms. A first for me. Great!

Gallo's. Great food. Great service. And the ambiance was welcoming. I'm a jerk when it comes to food, I don't post what I think of the place if I don't like it. I don't believe in a lousy review anymore. I try to only post after I've had a good meal. And in Gallo's case, Linda and I had really good meals. I was a bit concerned about a couple of reviews. Hunh, it was like that? And you're Italian too? But... Gallo's menu online has a few kinds of fish. And the apps looked good too. Will my Sicilian wife let us eat there? Because she is like that too. Lot of folks are. The meal has to hit the sweet spot. Which is usually Sunday sauce cooked on one of those basement stoves for hours, along with a meat course, a soup course, a big plate of baked bread. And then Grandma passes, and now what? If you can still get that at home, I am seriously jealous. If you can remember and really want that kind of meal, Gallo's hit what we had like boom. Just freaking great! Wifey got the Salmon almandine with greens, rice pilaf, and wedding soup. I got cod loin. With angel hair in oil and garlic and mushrooms and I had never had pasta like this before. It was sooo good. And my veg was green beans almandine. And wedding soup. And this review isn't about how much Mrs. Lucido-Lehtonen and I loved the ###### #### out of our dinners. Or how I told the waitress we wanted a nice slow meal, and Kazmere (Like the Zeppelin song, kind of) just had that clock running perfect. We had a meal that came out hot. On warmed plates. Full of delicious food. It came with a warm loaf of some unbelievably great bread. That i buttered and had with the soup, the hot bowl of just delicious wedding soup full of greens (endive i think) and them there little meatballs. The stock was chicken-licious. Sorry, couldn't resist. We also had, before the mains came out, a plate of the best calamari I have ever had. And I've been to Italy. A few times. Aviano Air Base in Pordenone region specifically. Near Venice. So, while I'm definitely not a chef, and am not lucky enough to have been born Italian, I'm pretty sure I know the tastes and smells of the fare in that area. And this dinner at Gallo's was so darn good! So. Not going to go on about how perfectly prepared and plated the dinners were. Or how torqued I am at myself for not coming here earlier. And the waitress Kazmere being, like, perfect. What I am saying is, this food was great. I loved it The wife loved it. And she wasn't kidding because she was talking later that night about; when are we going back? My wife, who I can only get to go to an Italian restaurant if there is steak on the menu. Sorry, I mean salad. So I guess I am giving a solid YES to should I eat at Gallos again with the wife. Like I said, not a review. It was our experience here. And we enjoyed it immensely. Now, if someone could tell me where I can get cannelloni, with veal filling not cheese, I'd appreciate it.

Burnt bread , soggy eggplant, was given a minimum amount of fries. Legit the only good thing was the sauce

First time experience was horrible , food was disgusting. Manager was rude, upon ordering they misheard my order(which I understand mistakes happen) but when I arrived at the store I said why is the price so high? I asked for an eggplant parm sandwich, they rang it up as a sausage eggplant sandwich so it ended up being like 5 or 6 dollars more, I said no I ordered the eggplant parm, and she yelled back to the cook "Hey those eggplants need to have the meat taken off of the sandwiches. ( I am a vegitarian with stage 3b kidney failure and if I eat meat I feel very intense pain in my kidneys, I should have left right there. But I said no those need to be remade i can't eat meat at all, so they did remake it but I feel as if the chef didn't put a single ounce of effort into the second dish and if the first one looked similar you guys need to find a new cook. This is unacceptable. Reading all of these horrible reviews and that experience I don't understand how you're even still opens also 4 sides of ranch I paid for were forgotten and when calling and telling them, they said to come get the ranch, I said I dont think I'll be coming back to eat there anymore could I at least be refunded for the ranch i didnt get, she said no we can't do that. I won't be coming back . This meal was $27 and to think they expect a tip lmao paid $33 for this trash. Frozen fries, frozen eggplant, hell I think even the bread has been frozen. Do not eat here. I'd rather eat fast food than this

    a pan of lasagna

The amore roma pizza was great and I'd get that again. The lasagne fell short for me. I'm used to meat in my lasagne for one thing and the filling just tasted like a ton of ricotta with a lot of dried parsley mixed in. Also I have to agree with another reviewer that their veggies taste like they came out of a frozen food bag. The manicotti and meatballs were good. The hot stuffed peppers also were disappointing - I make them much tastier so probably going forward will continue to order their pizza!

Yeasty bread brushed with butter, garlic and parmesan.

I got veal piccata over angel hair. It was great. (no bread brought to table, which wasn't the kitchen's fault) The caper sauce was very good. I like veal piccata every now and then when I go out for Italian. It's really more of a fusion dish from the 1300's, when Italy (which didn't exist yet) was on all trade routes. Veal piccata pre-dates the intro of tomatoes to Europe by a few hundred years, it's really a culinary window back in time, Italian food-wise. Anyways, loved the veal piccata. Linda got a burger with fries. In the future, I'm thinking I'm getting anything at Soni's that comes with French fries. Soni's fries were so much better than any fries I have ever gotten, anywhere, that other than just saying, "the fries were the crunchiest, crispiest, internal texture bestest, that I have eaten in my life French fries!", anything more is futile. I CANNOT tell you how great these fries were. IANK! (I am not kidding) Overall, I will be back at Soni's sooner rather than later. I want to try the artichoke dip for one thing. And the interior of Soni's is beautiful. They don't rush you. The waitress really was great, just overall, a place to "...sit back and enjoy a long, slow, Italian lunch." As my friend Vince Dinsio used to say. I know Mr. V would have loved Soni's too. Linda, the wife loves Soni's. I can't imagine NOT loving Soni's.

When I ordered the fried greens, I specifically asked the waitress if they are made fresh on the spot when I them and she promised me that they were....... I told her if they are not fresh I do not want to order them and she insured me are fresh fried greens, which is fried escarole with peppers and onions and garlic and oil along with sausage that is crumbled..... and I was brought a plate of what looked like chopped up spinach that somebody just vomited it onto a plate. I did not eat them, and when I asked the waitress to take them from my table and told her that they were beyond pitiful, and that I would like them removed from my she sent over a manager to my table. In front of my wife and my 10-year-old son along with a fully packed restaurant full of guests the 500 pound manager with stains all over his shirt told me that the greens were fresh. He clearly was trying to insult my intelligence and told me that since I did not like them and I did not eat them that he would take 10% off of the price of the appetizers which if I'm not mistaken equated to about $1.20. When I did not eat them or even try them because of the way they insisted that I had to pay for . At this point, everybody in the restaurant is looking at me and my family at the table as I pleaded a case that in a restaurant if a customer does not like what they have been served and if they do not eat it, then they do not pay for it. This manager refused to remove it from my bill. When I told him one more time that I was not gonna pay for them, he then threatened to call the police. My wife and my son and I then at this point being totally embarrassed in front of dozens of people through cash on the table and we did not finish our meal we got up and we left. I contacted the of this restaurant, Mr. SANSONE. I LEFT A MESSAGE AND EXPLAINED BRIEFLY WHAT HAPPENED AND I WAS NEVER CONTACTED AND NEVER DID CALL ME OR MAKE A RESPONSE EFFORT WHATSOEVER.. I have friends and family who have had similar experiences, just like mine at this place. The worst part is this place is always don't care about the customers that they treat like garbage. Stay away from this place because the people who own this don't deserve your money.

The menu is homestyle Italian and everything sounds appealing. I stopped in for the Meatball Stuffed Loaf and it did not disappoint! Massive meatballs, stuffed into a crusty loaf of freshly baked bread. The bread is soft on the inside, but not so much that all the delicious red sauce and rich melty cheese make it soggy. The sauce is somewhat sweet, but not that kind of sweet that lingers and makes you not appreciate the flavors of the tomatoes and seasonings. I really don't even like meatball subs, but something about these lured me in... I'm glad, because they're incredible and you should definitely stop in and have one! *Mangino's is an hour from my house and I made the drive 4 times in 2023, simply for the meatball stuffed loaf and french fries! I'll stop at a few of the waterfalls in the area to make it a day, but I'm making the trip for the loaf. I've purchased extras to bring home to my family and they were enjoyed as much as my fresh one.
