One of the most amazing dinners I've had the pleasure of having in Youngstown (which is hard to say!). The drinks were phenomenal, the appetizers were amazing (especially the star of the show, the sweet ricotta board). The salad was incredible and tasted so fresh. And the pasta was to die for. I had the carbonara, which was so creamy and delicious, with an incredible flavor profile. The spicy rigatoni alla vodka was one of the most amazing sauces I'd ever taste. The slightest spice from the calabrian chilis really made the dish. I loved how perfectly coursed each plate was, I never felt overwhelmed with the amount of food in front of me. Our server was absolutely fantastic, I can't remember his name but he was taller with dark hair and glasses. The hostesses were also so friendly, and they were able to sit us an hour before our reserved time so we didn't have to wait at the bar! This place had the BEST people watching! It wasn't too loud, or too bright, and all of the old photos on the walls were so cool to look at (as well as the vespa above the kitchen)! I would highly, highly recommend this place. Service was very good by Kimberly. The Conrad's Old Fashioned is very good here and my wife really likes the Venetian Ice. The Ricotta Board is always a favorite but seems to be getting less and less ricotta. The Sweet Corn Cacio from the specials menu was very good. The chicken parmigiana is consistently good here. I first have to acknowledge the kindness of the server. I went down to the restaurant at 6:20am from the hotel (Doubletree) and despite not opening until 6:30am, she made me a coffee. I had to leave by 630am so I was in a rush. Now let's address the coffee. It was undrinkable, disgusting. The coffee was lukewarm at best and it tasted like dirt. No flavor other than an overwhelming taste of soil. I'm not sure if the beans are old or the machine needs cleaning but I don't think I've tasted such bad coffee before (maybe at a Motel 6 -years ago). Serving in a styrofoam cup was also very unpleasant. Now let's talk about the cost. This was nearly $11 ($1 tip). I wish I could have gone back and gotten my money back because this latte went straight to the garbage can. So disappointing especially since it's a fancier restaurant in a nice hotel. I've never given a 1 star in all my years of writing reviews. Most times I give the place the benefit of the doubt but this was too awful to not be straightforward. read more

I've been wanting to go here since it switched to this from Bistro and finally got to try it on NYE. I loved Bistro so I was hoping this would also live up to my expectations... and it did! I thought the food was so good. My biggest con would be that the prices are a bit high, however the entrees were large and I basically got 2 meals out of it with my leftovers. I was staying in the connected hotel and decided to give Cass Di Canzonetta a try. I ordered the calamari and I think it's called the papa's Sunday salad. Both needed salt & pepper but we're good. The croutons in the salad were huge and I expected them to be a little soft in the middle. However they were crispy like a regular crouton and kind of hard to cut into bite size pieces. The bartender was friendly and provided great service. As a restaurant connected to a hotel, the menu has a wide selection and good flavor. I stay at this hotel often and will visit again. read more

I had high hopes for this restaurant to be part of a festive family night when I made my reservation more than a month ago. I conscientiously booked this anticipating a large dinner crowd due to a holiday show downtown on the same night. Unfortunately we arrived 30 min early to a restaurant that was slammed. I would have been patient if they seated our small party at the next available table. But she shrugged her shoulders and told us to come back at our reservation time. I found this baffling for its dumbheadedness. We retired to a drafty hallway since we had to wait while they seated other people for 30 minutes. I tried to remain optimistic as I peered through the window at the lavishly decorated dining room and fighting off impending hypoglycemia. At precisely 6 pm my husband and daughter returned for our table. We were told to wait a minute because they DIDN'T HAVe A TABLE Ready? I feel like that is the essential duty of having a standing reservation booked BEFORE hand. The table was finally ready but not in the main dining room but an oddly built loft next to a service area. The loft stairs proved challenging for my elderly husband's knees but he made it. We found the food delicious, created with care for cooking traditions and ingredients that makes Youngstown a proud culinary destination. The food was worth waiting for but I felt very slighted by their inept handling of my reservation. read more

Well now that I have had time to think about our dinner . It was disappointing ! The appetizer focaccia and peppers was really good our dessert was really good ! But for an Italian restaurant I didn't think our food was all that great. My husband got rigatoni in vodka sauce but the vodka sauce was more like just plain spaghetti sauce . It didn't look any different from my bolognese sauce. I had bolognese with pappardelle noodles it was a bit dry. I don't have a problem paying more for good food but I can go to any Italian restaurant and get bread salad and dinner for and very good Italian cheaper . They will lose customers by making everything ala cart. This isn't NY it is Youngstown . People want a good meal and to go to nice places but they don't want to be ripped off. I was so disappointed . We had an extraordinary anniversary dinner here a couple days ago. We shared the house salad for a delicious start along with the Venetian Ice and Pineapple martini, both which were delicious and creative drinks. A+ to the bartender. We shared the cacio e pepe spaghetti which was perfect for sharing and a lighter but flavorful and delicious version of the pasta that may have been better than the version we had in Firenze. My husband had the salmon and loved it, and I had the pork chop, which was a different option for me but very good and flavorful. The amarone wine went perfectly with both entrees. Last but definitely not least. The hot brown butter espresso cake truly was worthy of the hype. It's rare I pass over tiramisu at an authentic Italian osteria, but the brown butter espresso cake was beyond delicious. The ambiance was lively and friendly with very Italian decor that was fun and not stuffy but appropriate for a white table cloth dinner. Highly recommend this place for a special occasion and to go all out and sample the diverse menu offerings. Great staff and service as well. This is really a gem. read more

I had dinner on Thursday, March 27, 2025, before the Gianni Russo event at Deyor. I have to say, I was quite disappointed. There were maybe 10 people in the whole restaurant. My son and I sat at the bar. My son ordered a half portion of the pasta and meatballs. I ordered cacio pepe with one meatball. Now, as I said, maybe 10 people in the whole place, and my meal was lukewarm at best, and the meatball was stone cold. To top it off, the redhead behind the bar delivers us the check, and I see a $6 charge on the bill for meatballs over and above the meatball I ordered for myself. So, I said to her you made a mistake. You charged me an additional $6 for meatballs. She says, on the half portions of pasta and meatballs, we charge you for the meatballs. I said, when I asked you if my son can order a 1/2 order of spaghetti and meatballs, you said yes. Now, you figure when you order 1/2 portion of spaghetti and meatballs you get 1/2 portion of pasta and half portion of meatballs. I said to the red head behind the bar, You did not say the meatballs were an additional $6 charge. She says, I know, but the 1/2 portion of spaghetti and meatball entry doesn't come with meatballs. Now, you know where I'm going with this,.... any person with half a brain would say, my bad, and take the charge off the bill. She proceeded to ring it up as is and didn't own up to what she did. The entire experience was just bad from the beginning. We arrived at about 4:45 during a blizzard and, but for one table, the entire restaurant was empty. We were told that there were no tables available so we had to sit at the bar. We began to order and were told that the items that we ordered were not available and then we saw those same items being served to others who arrived later. The food we did receive was bland and just bad. Shrimp scampi was nothing more than a few boiled shrimp with a dollop of garlic butter on top. The Caesar salad was watery and wilted. The pasta dishes were dull and under-seasoned. Our dessert (which seemed to have originated at Aqua Pazzo and is much better there) continued the theme of bland and boring. The ONLY bright spot was our bartender and her cocktails which were great. Of course, when we finally left, most of the restaurant was still empty so I'm still not sure why we couldn't get a table. First, we made a reservation for 6 a week in advance (to celebrate a very special birthday) which was confirmed with a text confirmation. upon arrival, they said they could not find our reservation in their computer system. Luckily they had a cancellation, so we did not have to wait long. once everyone in our party arrived, we ordered simple cocktails that we waited for atleast 20 minutes to get to our table. We put our whole order in (appetizers AND entrees). we received our appetizers in a timely manner but then our waitress seemed to disappear. Finally when dinner DID arrive, not one of us were happy with our dishes which were EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE ($45 for chicken Marsala that I could have cooked at home and tasted better!) All in all we were very disappointed and ended up leaving still hungry! I would NEVER go back or recommend to anyone! read more
