Wow wow wow! Went here for the first time a few months ago just to see what all the hype was about. I'm a huge fan of chocolate cream pies so of course I had to try it. One of the best chocolate cream pies I've ever had, so it's made its way to the top 3 best ones of all time! I always saw them posting about their bite sized jelly donuts so of course had to try those too! So fresh and filled with a good amount of jelly inside. The workers were extremely friendly. I finally stopped in! It was my first time here. Love this place! Of course, I had to try the jelly donuts, and I went home with a pecan pie and a Keylime tart and a couple of black-and-white cookies. Everything was delicious! Cute neighborhood spot that gives classic feel as soon as you entered. This spot is cash or check only, only street parking, and no seating. We got the almond danish and onion bread; danish was outstanding while the onion was average though we paid $24 for both so its pretty good value. There was a time that this weekenders lines being down the road was justified... Now is not that time. I've been totally underwhelmed with some of the baked goods I have received from there, including their Easter, breads, and Sunday buns.... They were average at best and certainly not worth the wait of the line. Not sure what has changed over the years, but it certainly has not been a change for the better and I'm sad that it's not what it used to be. It's not worth the struggle for the parking space. Galloway Bakery is a classic neighborhood spot with old-school charm that's hard to find these days. It's a long-standing bakery that focuses on doing things the traditional way, and it really shows in the quality of their baked goods. The pistachio pound cake was excellent--moist, rich, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. You can really taste the pistachio, and the texture was spot on. Love this bakery. Everything is fresh, homey and delicious. I come early when they first open, to make sure they don't run out of my favorite items like the jelly donut holes. So, I've never had trouble getting my items. Our favorites are the donut holes. Jelly is our favorite because they are so fresh and fluffy, with generous amounts of jelly. The glazed are really nice, light and fluffy. All are best the first day. Whenever my kids come home for a visit, they ask for these donut holes. Second favorite is the banana cream pie. This is also another very popular request at holiday get togethers. Hint: these freeze very well, so if I have leftovers, I can eat a little at a time so I'm not overeating. Other good items: rainbow cookies, and the rye pumpernickel bread. Both were delicious. The bread in particular was so fresh and perfectly chewy. read more

Pies are good and not too sweet! Their most popular item is the jelly donut but I'm not a jelly donut fan (cuz of the sweet jelly part). The donut part was delicious 10/10 though, so I'll definitely come back for other donut flavors. The only item I wouldn't get again are the cinnamon rolls. They don't use cream cheese frosting and it had a very flowery flavor rather than cinnamon-sugar. More like a monkey bread with icing on top. Will come back to try strawberry shortcake and maybe coffee cakes next time and regular donuts. read more

They are a bit pricy at $25 to $30 per pie and you are paying for its name & reputation; but at this price range, you will have a lot of choices. It is also cash only. Galloways, where have been all my life? Open only fri-sun and this place churns out business, so you know it is the trufe! Supposedly they make the best banana cream pie and around the holidays there is a line out the door. I needed to outsource the labor for a cherry pie and they delivered. There were so many other things I wanted to try from there. Heard the jelly donut holes are a thing of beauty. My kids are picky, so I got the butter cookies that have chocolate on the back and look like little men - delicious. The mini pecan pie was amazing. This review has been a long time coming. Galloway's is a staple in Westchester. In a time when corporations dominate every aspect of life Galloways is one of the last family owned mom and pop bakeries that I know of in the area. Quick advice prior to scheduling a visit; Galloway's is only open from Fri-Sun (holiday hours are different). It also can get VERY busy, so I'd recommend coming over, earlier as you can beat the rush. Immediately upon waking in, I am greeted not only by the lovely smell of fresh baked goods, but also by the entire staff with smiles brightening up my Friday morning. The inside is exactly what one would think of when it comes to a family bake shop; warm and welcoming with no frills. I highly recommend their donuts. The jelly and glazed are my particular favorite. They're absolutely out of this world. To the point where I have coworkers asking me to bring them extra or ask me to pick up a separate order for them. A close second for me is their almond melt away. Though, you can't go wrong with any of their baked goods, honestly. I cannot recommend Galloway's enough. Picked up the GREATEST poppy seed rolls here. Get the rolls. They are the fluffiest, densest, sweetest, freshest rolls I've had in my life. This establishment is racially biased and I do not recommend potential Black customers to patronize this business. They are cash only and have a machine to check the legitimacy of bills, but do not use the machine consistently. My mother and I have gone there to purchase pies during the holidays for the past couple of years and notice that the only bills they check while we're there with white clients are ours. As black women, we are unfortunately adept at noticing inequalities and difference of treatment while being serviced. We confronted the manager about this but she fiend ignorance and claimed we were making it up, but it's happened more than once. Galloway's is the definition of old school. A family-owned business just north of NYC, this bakery consistently delvers the goods every time I patron them. The bakery is only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays - but really their products are so good they probably don't need to be open more than that. While they serve a variety of baked items, for me the pies are the star. The cherry crumb is out of this world - one of the best pies I've ever had - period. The chocolate cream pie and apple crumb are other standouts for me - but in reality almost all of the pies are top drawer. Another standout item are their doughnut holes - the best has to be the jelly ones coated with powdered sugar; I can pop those like potato chips. They also have a good variety of rolls, muffins, and danish which are also high quality and tasty. Come for the old school bakery feel, stay for the superb pies and doughnut holes. This place looks like a local favorite and always crowded with soccer moms and teenage girls. That's not a bad advertisement and not saying that's the only two groups that crave sweetness ;-). Place apparently carries all home made items, with family members at the counter. Usually they are very eager to sell and friendly, though if you ask their recommendation on what to get, you are responded with confused looks. Not very helpful, but if pressed they do help you out. Not being too harsh here, but indicating that it is family run, so be nice to them. Have tried their pies, which are A-Class.
