a display of pastries in a bakery

Wow, what an adorable place! A taste of France in Mamaroneck! I came in specifically looking for kougin Aaman which I discovered in a French bakery in Cape Cod. They had it! I bought one and tasted it. OMG! It was buttery, crusty sugary and so delicious! What a pastry! The gentleman behind the counter was adorable and very helpful. I can't wait to come back and try something else!

Nice people, BEST croissants. Fresh, flaky, some crunch on the outside but soft, buttery on inside. You'd think you're in Paris.

With both à la carte options and a $44 Prix Fixe menu, we went for the prix fixe -- and it was the best decision of the day. A truly enchanting brunch that felt as if we had slipped away to a cozy café in Paris. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, with live soft jazz music setting the perfect tone. The staff was warm and attentive, anticipating every need -- even the bread served with a luxurious French butter with black sea salt was top notch. No land Lake served on their tables. Cocktails Bloody Mary -- perfectly mixed, bright and briny with just the right touch of horseradish Peach Bellini -- light, fruity, and beautifully balanced Appetizers Salmon Tartare -- diced fresh tuna , with a vibrant pesto sauce, served with crisp baguette toasts. Not only did the food roll off my tongue, but it was a substantial first course. Hubby opted for the Soup du jour, a comforting individual tureen of butternut squash soup, delicately garnished with sunflower seeds -- savory with just a hint of sweetness, the perfect bowl for a cold, rainy day. I had a few spoonfuls and can agree it was delicious and warming. Entrées So many options I really had a tough time picking one. So many classic French dishes, but the buckwheat crepe won out. A SMOKED SALMON CREPE Filled with chopped salade, in a buckwheat crêpe, sunny up egg. Great to the last bite. Husband continued with a French theme steak sandwich with brie cheese, pickle shallots, aioli, and pomme frites Dessert Chocolate Mousse -- airy, rich, and deeply satisfying; the perfect sweet finish. The waiter comes over with a huge tureen of chocolate mousse and scoops out a huge amount of it to add in your dessert plate . Quite the presentation. Paired with after-dinner drinks, this brunch was a seamless blend of French elegance and warmth -- every bite, every note of music, every detail thoughtfully done. A truly delightful experience we can't wait to repeat.

Some sections of the restaurant require walking up small sets of stairs, so they may not be accessible for all. Our table had couch seating on one side and was comfortable, but the table itself was a tiny bit small when accommodating a bunch of plates and glasses. To drink, I had the pomegranate martini. It was quite strong, fruity, and not overly sweet. My husband had the bees knees. It was juicy and flavorful. To start, we had a salad from the specials menu. It included mandarins, kiwi, goat cheese, almonds, and arugula. It was a large portion size and crisp and refreshing. We also had the spinach artichoke dip, which was rich and tasted very fresh. For my main, I had the penne. I loved the tomato cream sauce. I also got a side of onion rings. They were shoestring style, which I wasn't expecting, but they were piping hot and very tasty. My husband enjoyed his steak, but one should note that the dish is literally just steak, so you need to order sides separately if you want any accompaniments. For dessert, we had the lemon tart. It was lovely, especially with the accompanying berries. Our waiter was excellent. The only negative was that I asked for a special dessert and candle for my husband's birthday and they completely forgot. I even called earlier in the day to confirm they would be able to do it. So that was a slight disappointment, but otherwise it was a great meal.

The oysters were a little variable in size, but they were good. My almond-crust sole was good but could have been a little lighter on the almond. The filet mignon was good, though we cooked it a little longer at home. (It was cooked well, but the personal preference was a little more cooked.) I enjoyed the flourless chocolate cake ($12) too! I look forward to visiting in person someday soon.

Set in North Salem,…read morethe dining room overlooks a beautiful meadow with rolling hills in the distance, creating a peaceful backdrop that feels quintessentially Westchester. The space is modern, warm, and understated. Everything we ordered was excellent. The panisse was golden and crisp on the outside, soft and creamy in the middle. The hake was light, buttery, and cooked perfectly, and the lamb chops were tender, flavorful, and beautifully seasoned. Every plate felt carefully put together, with classic French techniques and just enough creativity to make each dish feel special. And then there was dessert. The profiterole was the perfect ending to the meal--a light, airy pastry filled with ice cream, covered in a crisp hazelnut shell, and finished with a smooth chocolate glaze. It had the perfect mix of crunch, creaminess, and rich chocolate, but somehow still felt light enough that you wanted every last bite.

It's a great space: simple and comfortable, lively yet not too loud. My one complaint is re nuts. Why so many dishes with them when so many people are allergic? And...I chose the 1 of 3 desserts which didn't mention nuts only to discover that had nuts in it and the other two could leave them out. Frustrating. Overall though we really liked it and will probably return.

Estelle did not have anything prepared ahead of time and was 15 minutes late. The assistant who was there to greet us seemed unhappy and annoyed that we were there and did not let us know Estelle was running late. When Estelle started the class there was no greeting or introduction and no instruction as to what the girls would be doing. She split the girls into two tables but the assistants were not able to give instructions so each table had to wait while Estelle worked with the other table. One of the assistants just kept rolling her eyes at the girls and repeating "I'm not the chef" and pointing to Estelle and saying to listen but there was no way for them to listen to the instruction because she was demonstrating with her back to them at the other table. So most of the time the girls were just sitting around waiting for instructions. When my co-leader tried to step in and help give instruction Estelle was extremely rude to her, and in front of the kids! The kids barely got to do any cooking. They basically just measured some ingredients into bowls and poured them into cupcake tins. These girls were between 9-14 years old and they have all been doing that since they were 3 and 4 years old. We thought they would be learning more than prepping ingredients and stirring ingredients around. When we asked if the girls would be doing any of the actual cooking Estelle told us she couldn't have them working with the hot oven. I asked my girls when we got home what they thought and they said it was boring and they didn't get to do any cooking, that Estelle did everything for them. The pictures of the shop online look nothing like what it actually looks like in person, which was very run down with stuff piled everywhere, no pastries in the cases, some dead plants in the window and very dirty. The fact that Estelle charged us $900, which is money the girls made themselves selling cookies, felt like a huge scam. I'm so bummed we wasted their hard earned money and our time at Estelle Gourmet.

From the door, we were kindly greeted and immediately sat. Evelyn, the manager, frequently came to check on us and our experience and truly made our night special. Our server Cole was attentive and made great recommendations. Let's get to the food...I know that's why you're here. We started with the escargot, duck wings and the bone marrow app special. It was my first time having escargot and I pity any other restaurant that may serve these to me moving forward. We were given extra bread just to make sure we could dip it in all of its garlicky, oily wonderfulness. The duck wings had a great Asian, sticky-wing type of flavor (another first for me) and the bone marrow just melted in your mouth. If you like the fatty part of the steak, say "yes" to the marrow. *chefs kiss* For entrees we had the chicken leg special, steak frite (you get a choice of cut) and the salmon. We were all just taking bites off of each other's plate all night. The gravy that came with the chicken special was perfect and paired amazingly with the crispy skin of the chicken. The steak; cooked PERFECTLY! (You see the pics!) & that salmon in the beurre blanc?! More perfection. Like the good children we are, we ate all our food and felt we deserved dessert. We ordered two apple tarts, which they outsource, and the crème brûlée. The apples were sweet and tender and I never have any bad words for crème brûlée . We also ended our evening with some cappuccinos and a healthy pour of amaro noninno; just devine. To top it all off, we noticed a DJ setting up towards the end of dinner service. What began as the dining area quickly turned into a dance floor. We had such a great time and can't wait to come back!

We had a noon reservation and there were only two or three other parties, so it was super easy to book and felt refreshingly unhurried. The staff was fantastic. They welcomed us warmly, even offering to take our jackets, which was a nice touch. The menu has a solid mix of breakfast staples like omelettes, pancakes, and eggs Benedict as well as lunch options like a burger, salads, and a turkey club. I went with the eggs Benedict and they were perfect. The potato hash came in a fun triangular shape; very crispy... almost too crispy, to the point I wondered if it was intentional, but still tasty. My partner got the pancakes and wow, huge. And delicious. Overall, great service, great food, and a gorgeous atmosphere. Would definitely return!
