So Gwen is amazing and this is one of the most welcoming bars I've been in. The patrons are awesome here. I'll definitely be back because Keno owes me twenty. Great little bar.

Very tiny bar. Bunch of regular local drunkards. Friendly bartender lady far as this kind of joint but not overly friendly. Drink ordered was an apple martini which was strong so thank goodness for that. It was worth $7 for sure. There is a tiny daily drink special menu, but it was holiday time so there were only holiday style type drinks on special. I'm not into pepperminty kind of alcoholic drinks. Restrooms need some serious work. You have to step up to get in only to deal with piss on the seat and floor. Uh...this was the ladies restroom I went in. Shameful! Can you also imagine someone that intoxicated trying to step down onto the main floor of the bar? Can you say 'accident waiting to happen'. So if you go, use the bathroom at home first.

The rest of the bar and the booths.

We first wandered in on a cold, rainy afternoon and were immediately charmed by the cozy atmosphere. The service was warm and welcoming, and everywhere we looked, steaming plates of comfort food were making their way to happy diners. The cod Reuben with sweet potato fries was outstanding, and the clam chowder was exceptional. In fact, after trying chowder at six different places during our trip, my husband and I both agreed this was our favorite by far. The shepherd's pie looked incredible as it passed our table, but we'll have to save that for next time. The only real downside is the limited parking, but it's a small trade-off for such a wonderful spot. If you're in the area, don't miss this hidden gem!

Unfortunately, we left pretty confused about where the 4.5 stars are coming from. We were seated quickly, and the staff was genuinely very nice and welcoming. We had a booth, although it was oddly high and uncomfortable for me at 5'3" because my feet could barely reach the ledge. Service was pleasant, but after we ordered, no one really checked in on us. Our table tried quite a bit: the Reuben, classic New England cod, another cod and clam dish, clam chowder, and a pretzel. The clam chowder was probably the highlight. It had good flavor, although I would have loved more actual clams. The wine was mediocre. Unfortunately, the rest of the food was about a 5/10 for us. Nothing was terrible, but most of it was surprisingly bland and just not memorable. My cod and clam dish was especially disappointing. It came with four very large clams, but one was completely closed and should never have made it onto the plate. The cod, potatoes, and other ingredients were sitting in a pool of cream sauce, yet somehow the dish still tasted underseasoned. It felt more like something I could have steamed and put together myself at home for a simple, healthy weeknight dinner rather than something I'd be excited to order at a restaurant. Maybe we caught the kitchen on an off day, because the consistently high ratings made us expect much more. We specifically chose this place based on those reviews instead of going somewhere with a view and slightly lower ratings. In the end, we got neither the view nor particularly good food, which was disappointing. The kind staff and clam chowder were the bright spots, but based on our meal, I personally wouldn't rate the overall experience anywhere near 4.5 stars.

People debate whether Plymouth Rock is worth a detour, but I found it to be an interesting stop with a gorgeous waterfront view. While in Plymouth, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch at East Bay Grile. The restaurant gives off a country club vibe with valet parking, a classic darker indoor dining area, and a wonderful bright outdoor patio with appropriate background music. I had the fried shrimp dish with onion rings and fries, a very tasty meal and a wonderful value at just $23. Our lunch averaged about $35 per person all in including drinks, tax and tip. I would highly recommend that people swing by Plymouth when visiting the Cape, especially if flying through Boston. If you do go to Plymouth, East Bay grille is the place to go for a wonderful meal.

Our server was unfamiliar with the menu. When asked what type of marinade was on a dish her response was "just a basic one", she had no idea and did not offer to find out. When our food arrived the runner dropped off our plates and literally ran away, no asking if we needed anything else. Our server did not stop by to find out how our food was until we were almost finished with our meal. I had to flag down a busboy to request a condiment. My lobster roll was the worst I've ever had. Anywhere. I've lived on the east coast for 50 years so I've had a few lobster rolls in my life. I've never had one that was warm with butter but also crispy and dry on top. The meat was mostly the tips of small claws, had no flavor and was really tough. There was a good amount of meat in the sandwich but it was unpleasant to eat. When the server finally bothered to stop by she offered to replace it but I was done with the entire experience at that point. The restaurant was not full so there is really no excuse for the poor service and food quality. Please don't waste your time and money here.
