Really look forward to the days booked here. We typically have 6 of us play a scramble and everyone has a good time. We'll grab coffee next door and maybe a couple of drinks from the bar. They tend to have a deal like buckets or bloody mary's. I've tried the food and not blown away but for having the option while you're there... not bad. As far as golfing, I think the simulator is great. The leveling platform is a fun element. It's fairly intuitive as far as tee height, changing your putt lineup, etc. I'm a beginner and have felt comfortable golfing horribly here. The putting green is a nice way to end the day on the way out or if you're not able to be seated immediately- take the chance to practice! Their staff is often busy but I would say reasonably so considering they're serving and helping with the simulators. Super kind and have seem them go the extra mile a few times now. Came here for an elite event. When you walk in, you'll be surprised how big it is inside. There are numerous simulator bays to choose from. There are multiple games to choose from: standard play, driving range, darts, skee ball, etc. There's a bar to sit at and various sitting throughout the venue. Also, there are golf clubs at each bay, but I think you can also bring your own. If you're looking for a drink, they have various cocktails, IPAs, seltzers, and High Noon beers. I was eager to check them out. I'd heard about them from the morning news. It's a viable "things to do around Chicagoland" recreational spot. The big selling point of Game of Irons is that it's a place to go when it's not ideal golf conditions outside. Think indoor Top Golf! The bays are quite sizable. The floors adjust for the type of golf you're playing. I found it cool that you can play games like golf candy crush. There are two levels (w/ an elevator). There's no arcade and 1 pool table. The food is basic. Pizza, cheese curds, wings, etc. Other than the salad, everything is mostly finger food. The biggest con is that they are quite expensive, IMO. A monthly membership is $250! Whew! Overall, it's not great, but it's also not terrible. Some may love it, but I'm not a golfer, so it didn't move me. My girlfriend and I went here for a yelp event and had a great time! When walking in, you are greeted with a putting green and a cool looking throne made of golf clubs (felt like a king). We had a simulator bay to ourselves and tried the driving range as well a couple of the game modes. This is our first time trying out a golf simulator, but we had a blast! The automated tee off is a pretty cool addition compared to other driving ranges as well. The place is also a full bar as well so if you ever get tired swinging the clubs the bar isn't too far away. The food was pretty decent. The event served finger foods like fries and chicken tenders which were ok. What a fun place to be - ESPECIALLY if you are looking for a group activity or something to do when the weather gets colder. This place is pretty spacious - there are golf bays (where you do the virtual golfing) both on the lower level and upper level. Each bay is pretty spacious, with lots of seating, so you can talk/drink while each player goes up to golf. There is also a full bar, pool, darts and food. I figured it would be fun, but I've never heard of or played interactive golf before, so I was a little skeptical since that was definitely a new thing for me. This 2-story establishment is HUGE and has tons of screens/areas to play interactive golf. No worries if you aren't skilled - the playing levels varied from first-timers and beginners to life-long experienced golfers. And yes, I was definitely at the most bottom level. My friend and I played Candy Crush but golf version and we loved it! The employees were super attentive and friendly. There's a button at every little golfing area so you can press it for service and an employee will come to you to either take your order or simply to help you with anything you need. The drinks here were strong, which is always great ;) The prickly pear margarita was my favorite! The food was better than I thought it would be, too - not that I thought it would be bad, but I just thought it would be like average bar food. While the type of food was bar-like (wings, mozzarella sticks, pizza, etc.), the quality was higher than "just bar food"! I loved their pizza, caesar salad, and cheese curds. Game of Irons was so amazing. There are many game options and i was amazed to see how you hit the golf balls so hard and the screen is just 3-4 feet away from you. Initially i was scared to hit hard as it might damage the screen even though i was told by the staff member that i can hit as hard as i want. But eventually, i got more comfortable hitting the balls hard. Another family joined us for the game and then it was lot of fun as it was 6 of us in the same bay. And Finally, i was the winner .... Came here for the grand opening and shocked by how nice and spacious it is! There are 16 bays total, 5 downstairs and 11 upstairs, and a small practice putting area downstairs. Each bay has four chairs and two tables, there's enough room for your bags and food, etc. very comfortable. We didn't try the course, but the driving range simulator was awesome. My friends who actually golf (I suck, just came for fun) think the simulator doesn't actually record as far/hard as you actually hit but pretty close. After you swing, they show a small recorded clip of your swing so this can be really helpful for people who want to watch their form. The platform you stand on also shifts/tilts to imitate being the slopes on the course. You can reserve the bays on their website, I believe the prices vary weekends/week. All of the employees have been nice and friendly. Special shouts out to the bartender! I didn't see the menu but they offered free food during the grand opening and it was your typical decent bar food. We have also been to Halfway House Indoor Golf which gave more of a serious/professional players vibe, so I appreciate that Game of Irons is a bit more chill for people like me who are not good whatsoever but enjoy the company. I love the arcade mode where it's like Angry Birds app game where you smash blocks with your ball. So cool! The balls are automatic and you never have to bend down. The technology here is just SUPERB! From the customizations you can do for your swing and level of play that is customizable according to your experience. It's super cool that if you're playing a course, the floor adjusts to different lies and slopes. They've thought of everything! This place is YUUUUUGE!!! Two floors of fun! And if you have a party, they can divide the rooms! Upstairs is super cool with couches... assumingely for the friends that are there to hang out instead of play. All good because again, this place is for everyone who wants to hang! There's a cute little putting greens on the first floor. They provide golf clubs or you can bring your own. The simulator is set so that it can shift your stance....for example if you are uphill, it will be set so that it seems like you are standing on an uphill. The service was good. Had THE best Father's Day with 2 hours of fun! The Whisky Flight was a marvelously decadent luxury when normally I'd be at Sunday Worship! And Felipe, my son-in-law was right to order Bloodies with cheese curds and calmari. Ryan took excellent care of us and 'the gentle onslaught' of grandsons, spouses, and then my son and his wife, really made it a great family affair! I don't really golf but the community event here intrigued me so I thought I'd give it a try. I was really impressed with the technology used to show distance, trajectory and speed of the ball when you hit it. My boyfriend got to review his hits with an instant replay of each hit during the driving range function. I really enjoyed playing the Arcade games that involve golfing. They have a variety of games ranging from hitting a bullseye target, to smashing windows, to matching color blocks. They also have a small putt putt area where you can practice. The upstairs is packed with more driving range areas and it's a bit more private. This is a great place to go to with a small group of friends to take turns hitting. They've got a stocked up bar with IPAs, a variety of beers, mixed drinks, sodas, etc. and a lot of pub food from waffle fries, to fried chicken, to coconut shrimp and more. Came here for a Yelp Elite Event and it was SO much fun! They served appetizers for the event, and the servers made sure that they were refilling the food for us. Additionally, the staff truly went above and beyond their service to make sure that we were having fun. They were willing to answer our questions about how to use the interactive golfing, and checked in on us to see if we need anything. Went for my birthday on the fifth of January. Upon being placed at our particular bay there wasn't any direction based for our party just more or less - "here this one is available." Nearest to the door during these cold months even though they have another floor of bays no big deal - that was the last of us seeing our server until about 15 minutes later when she came and asked us for our drink/food order. Mind you, we were still trying to figure out the parameters of the simulator.Our server then took our drink order but we still weren't completely educated for how to proceed with the game play. I was hesitant to come through the doors, being a crummy mini-golf player, less a true golfer. I was happily surprised, and happy I went out of my comfort zone to come here! The food is well-done bar food, with the fried cheese curds and spicy chicken egg rolls my favorites. There's a full bar on the lower level, and helpful staff/servers to both fetch you food, drinks, and set your "portal" to the golf experience you want. You can bring your own clubs, and some REAL golfers did. Luckily, each portal has a selection of clubs the novice golfer can use. Our portal attendant set up a Candy Crush type of game for us, which was perfect! We played two rounds in an hour, and had a blast! There is a happy hour with cheaper drinks and apps, and a late night Thursday 15% deal as well. Why not five stars? It's pricy... $39 an hour to reserve a simulator portal, $49 on weekends. Not too bad, but the drinks and food are big priced- $6.50 for a Miller Lite, and $12.00 for a pretzel. And the most UGH part of the experience mentioned by my friends and others leaving were the high powered blowers at the entrance. Why? I know it's picky, but everyone entering and leaving freaked out with the 50mph winds blasting them with hot air. Off. Had a fantastic time with my husband at Game of Irons tonight. The food was tasty (especially the pepperoni pizza), the bays were plentiful and roomy. The whole building is spacious. You never feel closed in. (My beer was super warm...my only nit of the evening). Oh, and I discovered that I can't play a lick of golf... ;) But we had a blast! My husband got about 6 or 7 bullseyes playing the Darts golf game. It's great that there are so many options of games to play. Nice find in suburbia land! I actually really love this concept for someone who is a golfing newbie. I really was intrigued with the interactive virtual type simulator for golfing. A way to get your form right? And your stroke right? Wow! Going through the motion of a game of golf. My favorite was actually being able to get out of the golfing mode and get into the almost like arcade mode. Some different games and variety Even with options to customize, let's say if you were left-handed. My favorite wait staff person had to be IRA. He was amazing. So attentive. Knew everything about the games and how to be better and what to focus on and really put some of our anxiety related issues regarding safety at bay. We even f found out that it's a happy hour on Sundays there all day, even more reasons to come back. What sets them apart from other places is that the hitting mat uses a hydraulic system to simulate various lies when the ball lands (ie uphill, downhill, deep rough, sand trap, etc). You won't get that extra layer of difficulty at other indoor golf spots, which is a nice plus for advanced golfers. Where to start The one thing I've really enjoy about Game of Irons is the space and the amount of simulators they have. Theres a great bar thats fully stocked. Amazing food, Pool tables, comfy lounge chairs and great workers who are there to help explain how everything works. One thing that makes this golf simulator unique is the elevated ground that plays as if you were on a real golf course. I would save your money on this one. I have been here multiple times and it continues to get worse. The last time we made a reservation, but we ended up waiting 20 minutes to get a bay. Placed drinks in the meantime off their barcode menu and didnt receive them until we bugged the bartenders after an hour wait for them. While everyone who didnt use the barcode menu got their drinks right away. When we did get the food it was cold. This was a weekday with no real traffic. No one helped us with the simulator and I had to rely on prior knowledge to get us through out 3 HOUR time slot. Certain courses are locked unless you pay for a membership. They didnt respond to call buttons. Also, they have one "manager" that only comes out when your time is up and it's time to pay. We were lucky enough to find this place on a whim and it happened to be their grand opening. As others have mentioned they have this high tech golf simulator situation with 16 bays to reserve (65/hr) and downstairs there is a full bar and a menu at each table to order from your phone. No matter where you're at you order everything online and they'll deliver it to your table based on the table marker. The drinks were great, the pizza is delicious, the couches were comfy my husband and I lounged in the dining area downstairs watching the Masters.
