Walking in here, the whole place smells like a big fat dirty scam. Everything is overpriced by $10 or more! The proprietor of the establishment is not to be taken seriously. Absolute goofball in flip flops. The staff speak loudly and confidently about games to intimidate the common fare. Highly unsettling venue, and they will NOT work with you to lower their astronomical prices. They do NOT honor PriceCharting prices and fraudulently inflate the market price to top dollar for nearly every item. Searched the whole store and could not find a single game worth at least the value of highest-price sold on eBay marketplace. Stay FAR FAR away. Check out Press Play Media. They are local and nearby and are actually fun and easy to work with. The owner of Press Play Media was able to honor a price charting value for me on The City of Lost Children for the PS1 and even knocked a few dollars off a bunch of other games I ended up buying. We have been to Games Galore a number of times. The store is a good option if you are looking for that hard to find retro game, system or movie. Games Galore takes in Items for trade credit or cash. They also have some new games and items but the better deals are from their pre-owned selection. We needed a box set season of one of the series shows we were watching. We were looking for Blu-Ray but they only had a DVD version. Nonetheless they were running a half off all DVDs including the box sets. Figured we would find what we were looking there and we did! The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and helped me with the box set. As we inspected the discs, most looked fine but one was questionable so he nicely swapped it out before selling it. He also said if we have any problems to come back and they will fix or replace it. Hopefully we don't have any issues. We had a good experience there and their prices can be hit or miss on items but it's a good option to find some older items quickly. read more

Bought a few N64 games. Have them test before you buy (I made the mistake of not having them do it). Had to do a thorough cleaning and its still 50/50 if the games boot up. Other than that they're nice people and they've got a nice variety of games. read more

I've been buying consoles games remotes the whole works from here for 2 years now, any time I've had an issue of a game not working they quickly fix my issue. I called about a PS One, was told $40, drove from Dinsmore, 40 miles, I was charged $50 even when I referred to my phone call. I got home and it didn't work, the employee had no concern of my anxiety even though my grandson was crushed so I drove back to exchange and when I got home with the new one, it worked but my husband noticed the price tag at $39.99. So I got cheated my $10 and got terrible customer service and an "I don't care about your business " attitude!! LESSON LEARNED, I won't do business there again. read more

Enjoyed my experience. The man working the counter was doing a large check in of inventroy. He took his time to search of games I was shopping for. For being in a heavy traffic plaza. I didnt mind paying a couple dollars more per game for the customer service and convenient location. I would check the CD quality before purchasing and ask them to buff it out if needed. Games Galore is a typical retail reseller of video games. People come in, they sell things for pawn shop prices, and then their items are resold for Ebay prices. I don't really have a problem with this practice, but the real issue here is availability, customer service, and overall presentation. First, there's basically no customer service at all. You walk in and there may or may not be anyone behind the counter, and they're probably pricing things or on their phone, not paying any attention. This isn't always the case, but it's pretty common. Second, they've got a really blase attitude about... everything. Expect sarcastic/dismissive responses to queries. It doesn't take long for you to realize that the store is a front. Browse their selection of games on the rack and you'll soon find that there's basically nothing of value there. Huge rows of sports games, 12 used copies of Halo 2, a big bin full of worthless strategy guides in awful condition, and a multitude of bargain DVDs no one would ever want. There's no way they actually sell 90% of it, and you can see that most of the items sitting near the window are extremely faded from the sun -- they've been sitting there FOREVER. So how do they stay in business? Well, aside from a few uncommon items sitting in the front row of the glass counters (I'm looking at you, overpriced copy of Earthbound, and dubious copy of Lunar Complete that's been sitting there for like 4 years), the valuable items they receive from people who trade in their games are cherry picked and kept in the back. A lot of times, they leave the back door open and you can see that they have a huge backlog of sorted games and peripherals that aren't advertised or displayed anywhere in the front of the store. Things you would actually WANT to buy. But, you can't. Oh, sure, you can ASK, and maybe they'll go in the back and look for something you want, but more than likely they'll just say they don't have it. A typical example of trying to get something they have in the back goes like this: I once inquired about a copy of Persona for PS1. The guy told me he had a complete copy in good condition, and then proceeded to tell me I didn't want it because I wouldn't like the game. What the hell does he care if I'm going to like the game or not? He just didn't want to sell it to me, and after a five minute back-and-forth in which he avoided my requests to purchase it, I just gave up. They clearly sell most of their quality items online, because they can get FAR more traffic and better prices for them there. The stuff sitting out front is just the crap that they can't move quickly. It's sad, but there's just really no good way to buy much of value in a physical store these days. Sign of the times, I guess. To top it off, if you actually did want to buy some piece of crap item they're selling out front, you can just find it cheaper online. read more

I tried selling my 500gb Xbox 360 and about 20 games (including all the newest fifa, madden, and 2k games) and was offered $20 store credit. I left immediately and tried this place out for my first time, Games Galore gave me $130 in cash... I was a fan ever since, come here all the time when I need stuff, from ancient to new. They offered nearly 30% back on the game at the selling price from several websites when I looked them up . Sadly we wish we could review on our purchase from this shop, but unfortunately we are unable to do so. The individual who was working never came back at the time posted on the door when it said out to lunch. Actually, they still had not come back for a long time after. We waited for quite some time as we live two hours away and wanted a game console that he only had one of. When I called back to ask him to hold it since we were in town no one answered. On a Friday in the middle of the day several other customers tried to come to the store & looked disappointed. This is the only system we could find other than mail order so I guess we will simply have to order a replacement for our son online as no one ever came back to the store. read more

My boyfriend and I came here to do some window shopping and maybe get him a birthday gift. As soon as we walked in, no one greeted us and I should have seen that as a sign. Finally my boyfriend saw a Gameboy system he wanted. The guy behind the counter let him try it out with some batteries and we were set to purchase it. Since they guy disappeared in the back room, my boyfriend asked the girl behind the counter about the Pokemon games they had. From the back the guy yelled they had red and blue, he'd just need to change the battery. My boyfriend and I talked it out and then told the girl behind the counter we wanted the Gameboy and one of the Pokemon games. She said "ok" and then just continued to sit there doing nothing..... Finally the guy came back out, we told him we wanted the Gameboy and the Pokemon game. His response "yeah I just had a battery explode in my face, I don't want to mess with that right now". Prices are so far past planet earth you will need oxygen dare look at a price of a game. I'm not sure what the newer games go for(xbox360 and up) I am more into the older stuff. Clearly these people look at prices of games on eBay that are just asking prices and not what people are actually paying for them. The guy at the register seemed nice enough when my boyfriend and I went. We didn't buy anything that time but looked around and found a lot of older games. My boyfriend went on his own and picked up an old GameCube game (not a popular one, so it's hard to find even though it isn't valuable) for $10. They also have some anime that we completely missed our first time in that seems reasonably priced. Overall, they do have some things that are probably more expensive than they should be, but they also have plenty of great deals...and honestly the next closest similar store (that isn't a GameStop) is 45 minutes away and I don't feel like doing that for a used game very often. read more

Games Galore is great. I go there mainly for their older (SNES, Sega Genesis) games. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the store is clean, prices are good, and they have a pretty good selection. I received a system purchased from there as a gift. When I got it, after a couple days I noticed a problem with it. I took it in they verified the problem and refunded me with no problems. I was happy enough with the service that I used the refund to buy a different kind of system and some games, and I've been back a few times since for more games. I also love that they're not a huge company. I only have 1 piece of constructive criticism: They don't always have every system in stock, so you might not be able to verify a game works before you buy it. I feel like they should have at least 1 of each system so they can use it to test games on. read more

Games Galore has tons of video games from all eras. There are lot of games for NES, SNES, N64, PS2 and they actually have a reasonable stock for systems like Genesis, Sega CD, Sega Saturn, and Dreamcast as well which you don't typically see. Prices are fair and you can definitely expect to pay market value for popular game titles. However, many of the games are also priced below what I can find them on ebay for which makes trips to this store worthwhile. I paid basically ebay prices for games like Resident Evil REmake and Super Castlevania IV but then also found good deals on games like Mischief Makers, Rocket: Robot on Wheels and Space Station Silicon Valley. I used to frequent the Games Galore location on Blanding Blvd (which was a smaller store) more often since it was along the way on my daily travels but that store closed and their stock has been brought over to the Beach Blvd location. I do find coming to this store enjoyable just due to the sheer volume of games they have and most of the time do walk away buying something. read more

Every time I go in the guy that is working is always helpful. They have the best prices on all games no matter what system you own. I used to be a very loyal customer to Game Stop, but now I will only do business with Games Galore and here is why...... The other day I went to get a charger for my DS Lite an the guy working had different DS models on the shelf and showed them to me to make sure I got the right charger for my DS (I bought the charger for 9.99). I was also looking for a game, Animal Crossing, and he was sold out and it's normally around 12.99, but told me to check back and that I needed Animal Crossing Wild World as the newest one would not work well on my DS Lite as I would not be able to see all the graphics. I went across the street to Game Stop looking for my game and the guy in there instantly tried to sell me on the newest game, Animal Crossing New Leaf, I told him I was not interested and he still pushed the game at me along with a new PS4 system (I never even asked about them). Once I told him to back off and that the game would not work on my DS Lite then he states that maybe he should have asked me what type of DS I had. He had the Animal Crossing Wild World, but wanted to charge me 29.99 for a used game. I asked how much was a charger for a DS Lite and he said 24.99. I informed him thanks but no thanks as I was going to go back to Games Galore where they actually believe in quality customer service like asking questions to fully help the customer, don't push games or other products on customers that they don't want, and don't charge new game prices for used games. I called guy back at Games Galore and asked him how often he gets the Animal Crossing Wild World in and he said quite often. I may not have gotten my game that I wanted as he was sold out, but I rather wait for him to get one in and know that not only am I saving a little money, but I also will get quality customer service every time I go in. I will also be taking my kids there to buy their games from now on as well. I am now a loyal Games Galore customer and completely done with Game Stop. read more

I bought through Amazon a game worth £16.99 (Deck quoits) and the delivery charge was not disclosed until it had been despatched - the charge £18. I was told by the company The Toys & Games Store that delivery would take 16 days and they offered to cancel the order. They came back to me 2 hours later saying that it had already been dispatched. At the same time I ordered 2 swingball games and a wall mounted fan - all delivered to the same address in Italy, both much larger and heavier - the cost of these were £5.82 and £6 respectively. The owners son was very nice to me when i purchased a av cord for my nephews playstation 2 they prior day. before i left out i asked if i would be able to return the item if it wasn't the issue with the game system he says yes. so i return the very next day and i walk in, this older white guy is behind the register along with two customers standing on each side of the register i walk up and stand a bit back b/c i didnt know who was in line and waiting to be helped. the whole time the big old white guy keeps his head down for a min then says can i help you. i look around b/c i didnt know who he was referring to. then he finally looks up at me and says can i help you. then i say i'm reading your return policy now but i brought this yesterday and i asked if i could return it if it's not the problem with the game system and he told me yes. immediately the white old big white guy is like "he wouldn't say that" then of course i get defensive and said "sir, thats that he told me" and he keeps saying that He's the owner and i know he wouldn't tell you that!" and i get pissed and say don't tell me what someone told me, i know what was said to me yesterday. so he goes on and on basically calling me a liar! so i turn to the customers and apologize for me getting pissed off and stooping to his level and i say that from the moment i came in he had a pissy attitude he never looked me in my face, i didnt know he was referring to and he basically called me a liar. and then i stormed out with a few more words to say. this was a true example of poor customer service, i guess thats why it's games galore and not game stop! i will never do business there again, and i will be sure to tell whomever will listen not to do business there either! i am still extremely pissed off at the way he talked to me and thought that it was ok. i understand only exchanges and i wouldve been fine with that but the way he went about it and saying what he knows the guy didnt tell me, i feel he was an old racist bag or maybe he just didnt want to be at work but suck it up! i hope he knows that business 101 says that a negative review by word of mouth reaches people a lot quicker than he thinks. i know this is bad but i honestly hope he goes out of business b/c i'm sure i'm not the only one he's treated this way. read more

I would honestly give this zero stars after my experience here! But I actually like the store, just horrible management. I've been a long time customer ever since moving into the Area due to my husband being stationed here. To sum it up, the gentleman who sold us some DVDS 2 of the box sets were the same as the remastered box sets with the same exact episodes. But why would we want four box sets with the same exact episodes. But of course we were going to keep the remastered version so we went back to return the other box sets. (Mind you we never received a receipt.) Apparently there are no refunds. He pointed at the sign in front of the desk that said no cash refunds. And i said "CASH" I didn't pay with cash I paid with CARD. Anyways, I was obviously upset because the gentleman (who took my anger quite well) told us they were all different box sets. So he obviously misinformed us and admitted to it. So I spoke to the store owner over the phone about the situation and he just literally.. And when I say literally did not give. A sh** about my situation. I then told him "So you don't mind taking your customers money but you mind helping out the customer over a legitimate reason that was YOUR employees fault.
