I'd just been offered $120 by a local pawn shop and asked if Sound Exchange could do better. The clerk dismissed me immediately, stating, "We typically offer 50 cents to a dollar per Blu-ray," and refused to even glance at the organized digital catalog I offered to share (via CLZ) to save her time. Instead, she insisted I bring in the entire collection, clearly uninterested in helping or making an informed offer. Her attitude felt unwelcoming and uninterested -- like my time and business weren't worth the effort. Ironically, as I left, I saw one of my exact steelbook editions on their shelf priced at $89.99. They offer you pennies, then turn around and mark up massively. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the most dismissive and disappointing retail interactions I've had. It felt like they just didn't want my business. Based on my experience, I do not recommend Sound Exchange to anyone.

The amount of inventory here is almost overwhelming in the best possible way. As a music collector, it honestly felt like I had died and gone to heaven. I was especially excited to find a large selection of leftover Record Store Day titles, including two rare releases that I was thrilled to add to my collection. I also came across many original pressings of 1980s LPs and 12" singles, along with a huge number of CDs in the annex, including several out-of-print titles that are becoming increasingly difficult to find. Everywhere I looked, there were hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Atlantic Sounds is the kind of record store where you could easily spend an entire day -- or several days -- browsing and still not see everything they have to offer. I don't have a lot of vinyls but I would definitely buy some from Steve's if I needed them since the pricing seems fair. They also have great wall banners for sale and plenty of CD's. If you're looking for something specific just ask Steve for help because this store is jam packed full of music. Steve was super friendly and informed me if there was something I specifically wanted he could get it for me. I didn't find anything I wanted on this visit; however, the last two times I was here I purchased a few CDs from his clearance shelf for $1 each without a scratch on them, not bad at all.
