    Two games from GameStop

I bought these games from GameStop but Mario Odyssey I had to wait for 15 minutes I think while call of duty WW2 1 minute. Why does Mario Odyssey have to wait so long and 70 dollars for a Mario game! At least lower the price a little?

    And now on the inside

It's really disgusting how 80% of people in the hobby are larping manchildren that are no better than TCG resellers. 2.) I find that retro game shops across the US are generally really terribly ran with insane pricing, dirty interiors, bad selection, and rude staff. I'm happy to say that Gameshop Downstairs is the SOLE EXCEPTION. Their staff are very polite and genuinely want to help you find what you're looking for, even when swamped with customers on a busy day. Their selection is unlike anything I have seen in any game shop in the entire NorCal region, especially for late 2000s-2010s era games such as Wii, DS, and 3DS. I also appreciate that they have a wide selection of DVDs and BluRays - old anime, movies, and cartoons alike. They even regularly stock CRTs, and while a bit expensive, they do in fact sell at fair market price. On that note, their pricing is extremely fair, and even the more contentious pricing I saw was actually on the dot with fair market pricing when checking online. Even if some things are slightly marked up, I think they easily make up for it with the sheer amount of stuff they carry. I can't emphasize enough how good their collection is, I spent a whole hour here. The museum is really cool too. The mix of 80s-90s and 2000s-2010s gear made it a perfect trip for my Dad & I, since that represents the generations of technology we grew up with respectively.

They have new school, old school video game, consoles games, movies and Pokémon cards. I just wish that they were open on Sundays. Brought in my old GBA SP which had a busted screen, I've watched videos on how to fix it, but wanted to also swap out the shell. So after countless videos of people saying the trickest part is the hinges, I figured it was best left for the professionals. I also wanted to mod the GBA SP charging port to a USB-C but with Eli's insight, replacing the screen with an IPS and upgrade to USB-C it would probably be better to just buy an entirely new Modded GBA SP. So I just stuck with the shell swap and new IPS screen. We ordered the parts from Ebay as he showed me what was available on 3/28/2026 and called me 4/9/2026 to let me know it was ready for pick up so roughly a 3 week turn around since he had to wait for the parts to be delivered. Finally had it back in my hands and it was beautiful, 15 settings on the brightness and it opened and close with those satisfying clicks the OEM came in. Couldn't be happier, I will say the buttons do rotate when I'm gaming a little too hard, but nothing like rotating them back into their place fixes it. As for the shop itself, BEAUTIFULY CLEAN, it's spotless and they really make this place feel like gamer heaven. All the games in the store were in their respective locations and you had no issues finding what you wanted. (Unless it was in a container with no label)

The owner is super helpful and chill. We came with some games we were thinking of getting and found them all. I even found games I forgot I loved so much. I think their price is fair, better than getting stuff online. I also love that they will clean disk for you for free and have the 2 week return policy. I got a FFIX game and it wasn't working and I got to return it no problem and got a replacement. I was also having issues with my PS1(that I have had for a very long time) and was told pretty much it's too expensive to fix and better retire it. They didn't try to sell me another one because they said it will have the same issues in the future. I also didn't know PS2 and PS3 is backwards compatible to PS1. Saved me some money. lol I also found out the shop owner used to own Retro Rewind in Milpitas which I also frequent before. Anyway definitely stop by if you are into the retro games (or games in general) this place is super well stocked!

Legends is a great place for finding collectibles and trading cards. I've been to this location…read moremultiple times and the employees were all very nice. During my most recent visit, the store was very busy (the checkout line was almost out the door!) but I was able to stop by and pick up the newest issues of The New Batman Adventures and X-Men. I asked an employee if they carried any Batman Beyond, but they didn't. (He was really nice and said he wished they carried more of it though!) This specific location of Legends has a very limited comic/manga selection and no back issues. If you're looking for comics, I recommend going to the Legends location at Eastridge Mall, which has a better selection of trade paperbacks, back issues, and current issues. This Valley Faire location sells mostly trading cards, collectibles/statues/figurines, Funkos, and board games. Overall, I still like coming here even though I don't always buy something! I always come back to look around at new items when I find myself in the Valley Faire area.

Very Disappointing Experience at the New Location…read more I was a loyal customer at their old location. They would always ask what I was looking for, and it felt like a very human experience. This time, I was looking for a card for my baby cousin, but I will not be returning to the new location after my experience today. I walked in and was completely ignored, albeit it is standard for a deadbeat college student not to give a fuck. My main problem was when I threw my trash into the trash can, like most people would. Twenty minutes later, while I was browsing all the pretty cards, the worker came up to me to say that the trash can is not for consumables and shoved it back into my hand in the rudest way possible. That being said, I do understand that they don't give a fuck. They're just there to make ends meet and want to continue the banter with the coworker who was allegedly an hour late. To be quite honest, I usually just take rude interactions and move on with my life, because life would be miserable if everyone started pointing fingers. It would just start a game of he said, she said, and I would rather keep the peace, but this experience just has to be heard. It was unprofessional, rude, and lazy. If your staff is more interested in gossiping than serving customers, you have a serious training and management problem at this new location. Realistically, nobody important is going to give a fuck, since people just come and go in most places, but for this experience, I just thought I'd let my thoughts be heard. All that being said, the products were great, just the workers there were not the greatest. I guess if you Wana just window shop or just enter and not be bothered it's the perfect place for you. Just don't toss ur trash in their trash. I understand that there j Is a trash can like 30 feet away just the way they were t about it was the most immoral way about jr.

I ended up having some extra time after circling the mall before my dining reservation and went to join the line. The employee was a bit rude when asking the people in line if they were there to build or shop. (There was nothing to indicate that there was an ongoing event, so I didn't know what they were talking about.) After going inside, I saw they had stations set for people to build a race car. I ended up going back outside and waiting to participate in the build event. It would've been nice to have been provided some info about what was going on this day. Sometimes Lego stores have a sale area, but everything was full price at this location when I visited. However, after the initial rudeness, the employee was friendly when I asked if I could also build and provided him with my LEGO membership info. He sent me to a station to get set up with my LEGO pieces, and the staff inside were very nice! I had a great time building my race car and am glad I had the chance to participate in the fun event.
