Have had positive experiences with this store before good at being helpful when sending out to grade and like to interact with customers over pokemon. But when it comes to releases I feel as they are scalpers disguised ad GameStop employees. The recent blooming waters release had 27 available but magically dropped to 18 as employees bought some which were 3 present. So the customers in line for several hours expecting 27 had to hear the disappointing announcement of only 18. Do better read more

It has been 4 years and I thought why not? And now I question why bother? I went in and wondered if I missed the "Going Out of Business" sign. Most of the floor, which once had little islands of merchandise had all been pulled. The game selection was practically nonexistent with the extra merchandise - toys, t-shirts, etc - taking up more space than the games. The walls looked so empty. A sign said that they were limiting the number of people inside but I didn't see anyone counting customers and the employees stayed firmly behind their counter. There were many floor markings indicating social distancing for check out, but most people were inquiring about various games and the ability to purchase. I'm not sure if this is related to COVID as I understand having demos of the newest gaming systems would be considered high touch points, but was surprised there was practically nothing in the store that even indicated that a new gaming system was released. The PS4 and PS5 games were intermingled like it was an after thought. The television system that used to show new game content has been reduced to one screen at an odd angle so it was hard to see. I've visited Game Stop previously (a long time ago) and was not impressed. Seems like if one was not wearing tattooed covered arms, at least a dozen face pins & a baseball hat worn backwards, service was nil. Leland, at Game Stop in Tukwila, changed all that. Went in to sell a couple of cell phones & he was the epitome of customer service. Took his time assisting me & made the business transactions pleasurable. I'm not a "gamer", but the store look ed immaculate & well stocked. Leland assisted another customer who inquired about a soon to be released game & he said the game would be in on Thursday. Knowledgeable, polite & great customer service. Who knows, I may take up Pong or Space Invaders again. read more

Came in late at night for a warranty controller exchange and was met with friendly, funny, and quick service from Alex and another employee that was assisting him with the computer. Overall one of the best gamestops I've been to with very reasonable prices on controller warranty, almost felt like I was scamming Xbox. read more

After calling in to verify that the specified game was available for my specified system at the specified cost, I was told upon arriving at the store that they made a mistake and the game was $20 more than they quoted me and I was unable to afford it. Well today is the Saturday before Christmas my little girl wanted a hatchimal and I found they were one of the only stores close that had them. So I sat outside the door 3 to 4 minutes prior to them opening at 8 a.m. the guy came and unlock the door did not bother open opening it. Not only was either first customer of the day but a woman I feel like he could have been polite and open up the door and at least said good morning. He he unlocks the door turns around and walks away doesn't bother saying good morning doesn't ask if I need any help or assistance he didn't ask if I had any questions and quite honestly he didn't say anything until after I spent my money and told him thank you and have a good day. Can I be Yelp's official GameStop reviewer? Because it feels like I already am... haha. If you've followed my reviewing history, you know that I don't think all GameStops are created equally. You've got the good, the bad, and the A-OKs. And this location is an example of A-OK! Do you ever notice these reviews that are just in the middle are the hardest to write? Haha, maybe it's just me. Anyways... I've come to this location a few times and I've mostly just looked around on my own. Because I've never really needed much help in the customer service department, I can't say it's good or bad here. What I can say is that looking at other reviews sort of tells me this location might not have the best customer service. But again, I can't say for sure. I can say that I've found the size of this location to be larger and better than downtown. Which also translates to a wider selection of collectibles, knick-knacks, and merchandise--which I like a whole bunch. Game selection is something I don't quite remember because the last time I visited was right after the Nintendo Switch launched. So they had all the Switch games that were available and I didn't look at other systems. One thing I really did love about this location is that they hosted a really cool Nintendo Switch Arms day! I stopped in early to get in line and was able to snag some really cool Nintendo Switch and ARMS schwag I haven't seen anywhere else! I really like to go into this GameStop, I mean it is huge, clean and nice. Suddenly I feel like im in Bellevue or something.. Compared to the one in West Seattle this is almost a warehouse to me. I always go in here thinking im going to spot a good deal and I never do but it doesn't bother me because the place is up to date, nice and clean. Like all GameStops I also can get updates on things coming out like I did today. I was looking for the game for Xbox 360 Kinect, upon finding it used, I searched on Amazon and found it same price new with free shipping. While looking for it, this whole time a elderly woman was talking to the only staff member working, I found out later his name was Steve. I've seen this guy here working usually every time I stop in and he is always nice, he even notice me taking a picture of the place while I was waiting for the lady to finish but he could tell I wasn't snapping it in his direction and just gave me a smile and nod and went back to helping the customer. I assume this lady must of been talking to this guy for awhile when I first walked in and like me I can tell he was raised right and has a ton of patience and respect for their elders. She was trying to find help on an old bubble tube TV and making her Nintendo work right and like most people, found no help at Rshack so she tried to go to GameStop. He tried hard to help her but I almost think she wanted someone to talk to and she noticed I was waiting and apologized even though she didn't need to and when she found out the Wii was cheaper than she thought, the lady side-noted over to it while I asked a couple questions. He answered my question trying to find the game I wanted cheaper but he couldn't and I wasn't surprised because I usually never find a good deal at any GameStop. I didn't anticipate pre-ordering Battlefield 4 yet, Steve sold me on the first question I had and made me feel no pressure in purchase. I left relaxed as I came in and that's why I like to stop in from time to time. I went to this GameStop and bought some used games. I knew that there was a chance that the games might not work and lo and behold, two out of three games didnt do nothing. Went back to return the two broken games, got one returned and one exchanged. Decided to give them a second chance. Guess what? The exchanged game still didn't work! When I went to return the games, I asked if they tested them out to see if they're broken (which of course they were). Turns out they don't test them. Points for honesty. read more

This is my go to gamestop. This particular store has super friendly employees who get to know you, the store is very clean and the employees are friendly and helpful. While the store is usually busy I have never had to wait all that long to check out or to get help around the store. This gamestop also houses a large selection of geeky merchandise which is fun to browse while you are in there ( I must admit that I have walked out with a few more items than I anticipated getting due to them getting in some new pops or other fun trinkets). All in all this store is a great gamestop to visit even if it isn't the closest due to there large stock and friendly employees. read more

I really should be a regular here given the amount of times I've gone over the past few weeks, but I keep forgetting to check in. As soon as I get into the parking lot I go into gamer mode... Look for Mike, he's awesome. I generally don't review mall-type chain stores but this one is special because of Mike. He is super helpful and very informative. The first time I went, I had a long ass list of PS2 games I wanted.. I'm not generally one to approach people, so I was looking through the racks on my own, but he offered assistance, and I came out with 7 games, none of which were out on the floor btw. We also went another time and asked for some suggestions since the bf is an entirely different kind of gamer with some very specific needs. The game Mike recommended was spot on. Shame it didn't work... oh well. We got a different game that was just as good. The store is pretty large, actually larger than most Gamestops. Mike said because of the space, he generally gets stuff that other stores can't carry. So for those looking for unusual stuff, this particular branch may be worth a look. read more

So after trading in my Xbox one, I had a bunch of Xbox 360 games that I needed to trade in or get rid of. I ended up here I was able to trade in my old Xbox 360 games for a $92 credit. They also have a pretty good selection of used games. The inside of this place is huge, and it seems as though no one shops at this particular game stop. Bought some games online. I had a medical issue preventing me from installing the games before the deadline. They resurfaced a broken game and sold it to me. There are no scratches on the game. It wont even install. I called them and they suggested I trade it in for 10 cents on the dollar. This way they can resell it to some other person. Great business model. I went here a couple of weeks ago to trade in some games. The girl behind the counter seemed like she had no interest talking or dealing with customers. I went in, got no welcome like at my usual GS store at Burien. It's not even that though, the girl gave me such a bad look, made me feel as if I were some crook trading in stolen items. That and she kept my ID until I had to ask for it. Usually people at GS just ask and give it back quickly. This was very uncomfortable. Longtime customer, but I've had it. Zelda launched March 3rd. It's now April 6th and I still don't have the copy i had PREORDERED. (They sold my copy because i didn't have time to pick it up within 48hrs of initial release. A warning would have been nice.) After 3 trips to the store and many phonecalls over this past MONTH, they failed to secure a copy I had already put MONEY down on. Yesterday i received a call from them telling me a copy had come in. I was at work, so asked if they'd hold it until the next day. They said "no problem". Next day arrives and I spend my work break driving over to finally pick it up. After getting there, they tell me they sold it to someone else. AGAIN. Anyways, cancelled ALL my preorders. Have no reason to ever return. Just want my time back. read more

When I asked him about the Nintendo systems he was very rude to me and acted like I was stupid. Here is a quick abstract of my review: Don't shop at a Gamestop. Not only will they gouge you in trade-ins, but you are just feeding the overpriced corporate machine. I have had a couple of run ins with staff at this gamestop that left a sour taste in my mouth, cursing the fact that they are pretty much the only place near my house to get games right when they come out. I bought Viva Pinata used there once, and the packaging they sold it to me in was labelled "not for resale". So when the disk stopped working in my xbox I took it back and the manager pretty much called me a liar when I said I purchased it there. I told him I bought it FROM HIM, but he still thought that I was just bringing in a Microsoft corporate store copy or something and that I was trying to rip him off. Gamestop employees always think they know more than the customers, but for the most part they are just ill-informed enthusiasts with corporate pressure to push preorders. This one is especially bad. Their email ad, as well as the associates at store store (which I called before driving down) both said the Black Ops 4 digital deluxe was still available for pre-order. After getting all the way down there with my rather excited kid, I stand in line for 15 minutes while the employees chat with a customer who wasn't buying anything. After one employee tells the other to turn around and help the line, I am finally acknowledged. The two employees spend 10 minutes trying to find the SKU for Black Ops in their computer, before giving up and realizing they don't know how to sell it. They call another store, waste more time realizing they don't know how to sell it either. Then the young lady gets off the phone and proceeds to complain about how some idiot at corporate (her words) must have deleted the SKU from the system and not communicated anything, typical GameStop (also her words). She then tries to sell me on pre-ordering a physical copy and just purchasing all of the additional content separately. Is this the treatment one can expect when trying to spend a hundred dollars on one game? The employees were dismissive, rude, disrespectful, and showed no interest in trying to help a customer other than asking me to spend more money--I was truly an inconvenience to them standing around and talking instead of doing their jobs. They, along with the mailer, were also dishonest and wasteful of my time, as both lied about something being available that you claimed to sell. Complete waste of time. Especially when I can go home, order the exact same item on the PlayStation store, receive the exact same bonuses for the same price, and have it automatically downloaded to my console without having to deal with rude, dismissive, dishonest and unprofessional people. The employee was very insightful and got me in and out without any hassle. I called in advance and they only had one copy, of the game I wanted, left and the guy told me he could hold onto it until I made my way in.
