Gami burger (Carmichael) has some great tasting burgers and fries. I can also say they have some awesome salads, too. Their burgers are flavorful, has the right amount of sauce (not too much), and the buns that stay together until the last bite. We love the nicely crunchy well seasoned with a touch of spice curly fries. To top it off, for us, they carry a NA beer. Hooray! Service is friendly and helpful. They checked on us multiple times to make sure all was well. We tried their burgers not long after they opened. Recently, we returned and I tried their mixed baby lettuce salad. The current mix includes asparagus, apples, and watermelon radish. The dressing is the perfect balance of refreshing with a touch of sweet. I will have to add a photo next time. The salad is HUGE and at $11 a great value! I added a burger patty and it was a nice combo. I really like the choices to add on. You can add protein such as chicken (white or dark meat), pastrami, Ahi, or burger patty for additional charge. Hubby got a milk shake made with Gunther's ice cream. What a treat! We were excited to try this new spot for burgers. We got the double burgers with cheese, and I added onions to mine. The burger patty itself was not super flavorful, but it was put together well, and each of the ingredients tasted fresh. As other reviews have mentioned, it is a bun-forward burger, but the bun is better than your average store-bought burger bun. As a lover of Asian food, I enjoyed the pickles. The waffle and curly fries were both heavily seasoned. I enjoyed the thick ranch dipping sauce, but there was an additional herb in there that I couldn't quite put my finger on... it wasn't bad, just different. The patio area is super cute! Parking can be difficult, but not when we arrived at opening time on a weekend morning. Even though they gave us a buzzer, staff brought our food to us in red baskets. Ever since "Gami Burger" opened their doors to the public back in mid-2025, they have gained quite a following through social media and word-of-mouth. Located in the heart of Carmichael and at the intersection of where Arden Way and Fair Oaks Blvd meet, this place took over the space where Willie's Burgers once stood for many years. To see a new burger joint replace a former burger joint brought joy and a sense of relief. And to those of you that still want that Willie's burger craving, they still have their two locations in Sacramento; 16th & Broadway as well as Old Sacramento at Front and K St's. I dined here solo during the afternoon on Sunday 3/29/2026 at around 3:45pm. From the looks of the outside, the changes were only subtle with their business name painted on the navy blue walls. As for outdoor seating, the picnic-style benches complete with the blue umbrellas complete the overall exterior aesthetic of the building. Once inside, the wooden seating remains unchanged with a fresh coast of varnash giving it a fresh look. There are also upgrades to the flooring, lighting, wood paneling, and of course, the digital menu boards. Their menu consists of all the comfort classics; burgers, sandwiches (chicken, pastrami, ahi tuna), hot dogs, fries, onion rings, slaw, salads, shakes, floats, and even a kids menu. In addition to the soft drinks, they also carry a respectable amount of beers on tap as well as select red and white wines. Since it was my first time here and I didn't want to go too overboard on my calories for the weekend, I went with a "Single Cheeseburger" which includes American cheese, Gami sauce, Sunomono pickles, lettuce, and tomatoes. I also opted for caramelized grilled onions. All burgers include a slightly toasted Brioche bun. I complete my meal with a bottled "Ed & Pete's Old Fashioned Lemonade" but chose on skipping the fries. After paying, I was given a small pager that notifies me that my burger is ready. After taking the first bite of the cheeseburger, I will point out that my burger looked amazing with all the proper fillings. However, the bun was a little too toasted for my preference as I like more of a buttery soft bun. The beef patty also didn't have that seasoned juicy taste to it but nonetheless, it was delicious. I would have to say that the amount of lettuce (as you can see in the photo I took) was a bit extreme. Either way, this was still a decent burger but I would have to give it a 3.75 out of 5. All in all, Gami Burger has a lot of potential; even more so now that they opened a 2nd location in Midtown Sacramento (in February 2026) at 23rd & K St (replacing the short-lived "Burger Patch"). I will definitely give their business a try again as the employees were polite, courteous, and friendly during my visit. With above average service, decent prices, a wonderful inviting interior, and decent quality food, I am giving the Carmichael "Gami Burger" an above average four stars. read more

Finally got to try Gami Burger.. and, unfortunately, I left a bit disappointed. I like my burgers with all the veggies, so I paid to add onions. They're sliced so thin and they gave so little for $1 extra.. I didn't taste them and had to dig around to even find them. I love onion, so this was a huge disappointment for me. Then, more disappointment with the sweet potato fries. They were so heavily seasoned, which I did not expect as sweet potato fries are rarely seasoned, but the flavor was so strong that it was hard to eat. I sat there trying to scrape off the seasoning and, ultimately, just gave up. I would try them again, but now know to ask about seasoning on the sides. Upon arrival.: Pros 1) clean little restaurant. 2) staffs were so friendly. I love it. I got like 3 smiling staffs that welcome me as soon as I walked in the door. I felt welcome there. 3) I saw a bar there. Small. But it is a little bar with TV. 4) you order and pick up your food on the side counter (by the front door you walked in). They do provide a little machine thingy that beeps when your order is ready. 5) there is a jug of water and cups you can get your own water. Water tasted good. No funky taste. 6) you can additional side onto your burger for an additional fee. Like mushroom, caramelized onion, avacado, etc. 7) bathroom is for men or women. Two separate bathroom with locks. 8) the special (grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup) was really good. 9) I saw seating outside and a few tables by the front entrance before you walk in. 10) there's 1 game for kids to play. Cons 1) burger was ok. Didn't have much flavor at all. But we did like that there was a little kick to the burger from the sauce. 2) not much tables inside. When we arrived, all the tables inside were taken. No room and it was too cold to eat outside. Conclusion We liked this restaurant. Staffs are very nice. Love that the water jug is on the counter where you can get water all you want without having to ask. Our burger was just....meh. OK. Sweet potatoe fries were just ok too. Grilled sandwich (half sandwich) and tomato bisque soup was good. It got devour by my little one. Parking can get tight if you come during busy hour. I came to this restaurant a few weeks ago with my boyfriend. The parking lot seemed pretty full and we'd assumed they'd be fairly busy. To our luck they were busy- but there was plenty of available seating indoors/outdoors to choose from. We both ordered the standard burger, which I believe is a double patty, and it was cooked perfectly. The gami sauce was described as sort of a thousand island dressing by staff. I'd agree, the sauce + the pickles create a very nice, light burger while still maintaining the meaty bite a burger requires. The avocado was smooth and smeared into the bun. The bacon was nice and crispy! They were happy to accommodate when we asked for normal onions instead of grilled. We ended up sitting outside because the indoor space was pretty loud and lively. The music continued the play outdoors at a delightful volume. Staff was attentive and kind, we were treated as soon as we came through the door. Line moved quickly and cashier answered all my questions. Prices reflect the quality of the food and would happily come here again. Only complaint was that the bar staff was glued to their cellphone! The ambience was good in that you can see the kitchen making the food. Tables and chairs were ok. I sat at the bar but they have large tables which I'm guessing you might be sharing with other patrons as inside seating is limited. The food was good. There was a line when Woody and I arrived, but it went pretty quick. I wasn't super hungry, but happy to see cheddar cheese on the list of add-ons. One thing that concerned me was the named pickles, "Sunomono" pickles? I thought, "I hope they aren't sweet." I should have asked. I ended up pulling them off my burger. Very sweet. I'm a dill pickle fan all the way and my favorites are the McDonalds style pickle. But the Gami sauce has some heat to it. Not bad. I had a couple of Woody's curly fries. They were plentiful and seasoned traditionally. The soda was properly mixed and decent sized with a fair amount of ice. The dining space is large and spacious. Tables are not crammed together. The tables are wrapped with stainless and the seats are wood benches with unique 1"x1/2"wood weave that are surprisingly comfortable. They have outdoor dining as well. A good burger. I really liked this place. I decided to check them out after seeing people talk about them online. The service was fast and friendly. Prices weren't bad for what you get. I got an ahi steak sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was really good and the sweet potato fries were fried to perfection. I'll definitely have to try their burger or chicken sandwich next time I go. The only thing that kind of sucked which isn't their fault is the parking lot is very tight. There isn't much room to turn around if you go too far after accidentally not seeing an open spot. It can also get loud inside if people bring their kids which I noticed when I was there. We ordered little bit of everything - 2 Gami Burgers, a BBQ Chicken Sandwich, Kids Grilled Cheese, Waffle Fries, Onion Rings, Curly Fries and Sweet Potato Fries. Everything was hot, fresh and tasted great! The fries were a tad on the salty side, but I still enjoyed them. I forgot to order a side of their ranch and Gami Sauce which I think would have helped with the saltiness. I liked that the BBQ Chicken Sandwich is made with a chicken thigh - it made the sandwich juicy and more flavorful. Service inside was fast and friendly - when we arrived to pick up, they announced to the kitchen and our food came out a few short minutes later. I didn't get a good look around since we were just picking up and it was crowded, but the outside does have a few tables - parking lot is small, but we got lucky finding a spot. This place is such a fun little hideaway, even though it's right on the corner of Arden and Fair Oaks. The outdoor setup is great. There are picnic tables under big pine trees with market lights strung above really give it a cozy, relaxed vibe. The inside has a lively feel too, making it a nice option whether you want to sit out or in. Food-wise, we ordered the double burger and the crispy chicken sandwich. The burger was solid. It was tasty, but nothing that stood out as especially crave-worthy. The crispy chicken was a little too heavy for me personally; the batter was thick and combined with the bacon, it just felt like a lot (though I know some people might love that style). The fries were a highlight! The waffle fries were super well-seasoned and flavorful, and the sweet potato fries were delicious. Definitely worth getting a side or two. Overall, it's a 4/5. For me, I think it's a solid option but also not craveworthy. However the atmosphere alone makes it a spot I'd come back to. I love how their menu items have some Japanese flair ! Unfortunately, the customer service and food fell short to my expectations . Upon walking in , we were hesitant because of how busy it was . The gentlemen with braided hair didn't bother serving people based on who was first in line , but instead served whoever he wanted in whatever order in line they were ; which was pretty unfair . I've been excited to try Gami Burger since they opened. I've been watching the Yelp reviews and social media posts, and finally got to stop in this week. First off, it's a lot bigger than I thought it would be. They're located at the corner of Arden Way and Fair Oaks Blvd and have their own little parking lot. The lot is a weird shape and a bit small, so watch out for other cars. However it's great to have some designated parking. The actual restaurant has a large indoor and outdoor dining area and is very open and modern. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and it's overall a very cool space. We ordered for dine in and got a Quadruple Gami Burger ($15) which is only a $2 upcharge from their double burger, Crispy Chicken Sandwich ($15) and had the choice of white or dark meat- we opted for dark, the Ahi Tuna Steak Sandwich ($17), and the Chopped Salad ($14). Each of the sandwiches came with fries so we got curly, waffle and upgraded one to come with Onion Rings (+$2). We also ordered two milkshakes ($8/each). We found a spot outside, and while it was hot they have umbrellas over each of their tables which adds some much needed shade and makes it a but cooler. Their team brought us out our food and milkshakes, and were even super kind and took back our sandwiches to cut in half so we could share them more easily. (Definitely less messy than us trying to do it ourselves, which we originally planned on) We did notice that our milkshakes came in 12oz cups, even though they're listed on the menu as 16oz shakes. Not sure if they ran out of bigger cups or if it was a mix up, but the 12oz was more than enough shake for us- they might just want to update the menu to reflect the correct size. The salad was a stand out- The Chopped comes with red romaine, Napa cabbage, egg, bacon, avocado, radish, and their creamy miso-garlic dressing. The dressing was great on the salad and all the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. You could upgrade to add protein to it, but we had so much other food that we kept it plain and it was delicious as is. The Ahi Steak Burger was also delicious, with a perfect cook, on a brioche bun with avocado, wasabi aioli and their slaw. The wasabi aioli was just the right touch of flavor without the burn in your sinuses and the whole sandwich was fresh and flavorful. Definitely a nice lighter and healthier choice with full flavor. The Quadruple Gami Burger was huge- I had read some reviews that the double was small and decided $2 more for 2 extra patties would be worth it, but I feel like the regular double would have been plenty. They did have a little extra char than I'm used to but overall it was a solid burger and I enjoyed the Gami sauce and sunomono pickles that came on it. Definitely a deal for $15 for this huge burger PLUS fries. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich came on a brioche bun with bacon, tomato, lettuce and aioli and was crispy, hot and I loved that you could choose white or dark meat for it. I also love that they have so many french fry options- Curly, Waffle, sweet potato or shoestring- plus they also have onion rings and slaw as side options. The curly fries and waffle fries we ordered were hot and crispy, well seasoned and came with a good portion size. The onion rings also were nice and crispy and fresh, but to our taste were over salted. I felt like a sour cream would have been great to dip them in to try to take down the salt flavor a bit. First time visiting this place since it changed ownership/name. When you walk in the door, you can clearly see the kitchen and food prep area. You actually stand next to the assembly station and fry heaters when you wait in line to place your order. Very smart design! If you don't want to wait in line, you can find a booth inside or picnic table outside, which has a QR code with menu for mobile ordering and they will bring your food to your table. The outdoor seating area is welcoming to groups, with the addition of flat-screen TV and a corn hole section to give you more things to do if your large group requires a few minutes longer to receive your food. The burgers are not especially large but you can order a single, double or triple patty and they come with cheese, home-made pickles and their sauce on a brioche bun. Your choice of fries is also included in the price, which made the cost very reasonable. Fry options include curly, sweet potato, and waffle. I opted for the triple with a side of waffle fries since I was pretty hungry. The burger was cooked just right and really good and the pickles really added to the experience for me. I had such a great experience at Gami Burger. Everything from the service to the food was top tier. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles. Every staff member was incredibly kind and welcoming. When our order arrived, we were planning to cut the sandwiches ourselves to share, but they kindly offered to take them back and slice them for us which I thought was such a thoughtful gesture! The restaurant itself is surprisingly spacious and modern, making it a perfect spot for families or groups of friends. It reminds me of an elevated take on classic diner-style patio seating. Inside, you can watch the chefs work behind the glass, and they even have a full bar with a TV. I can totally see myself coming back here during football or basketball season to enjoy the space. The back patio is just as lovely. It's clean, roomy, and shaded by umbrellas and trees, making it super comfortable even in the summer heat. The Gami Burger is a solid, can't-go-wrong classic, but just a heads up, it's made with smash-style patties. The chopped salad is good, I'd honestly come back just for that alone. The sides are VERY seasoned. I loved the waffle fries the most, with the curly fries being a close second. I found that the onion rings were too salty for my liking, but if you don't mind the salt, this side is for you. GAMI BURGER (formally the Willie's burger off Fair Oaks and Arden) is an American Asian fusion burger joint and it did not disappoint. With subtle hints of Asian fusion such as sunomono style pickles and what I can only guess is a hint of sriracha perhaps in their burger sauce, this burger joint left us with full bellies and happy taste buds. They also serve a variety of shakes- we got the strawberry which had some strawberry chunks in it, and a variety of sides- we got the waffle fries and onion rings. The staff were super kind and engaging, offering insights on the menu and bringing quick refills and sides of sauces. Overall the ambiance is small. That being said the team is great, so helpful and friendly - ready to answer any questions you might have. Inside is very nicely done, and an outside patio boasts lots of seating. A bar with beer & wine runs along the back wall with bar seating. Gami is open until 10pm, making it late night craving approved. While in line you pass the expo area and kitchen where you can see everyone is hard at work. You can really feel the attention to detail, and it shows in the food. Chefs at work here! FOOD: the menu is simple but allows for tons of combinations, depending on what your tastes are. Get yourself a milkshake, so creamy and delicious - ice cream from the local Gunther's! All "adult" burgers start at a double and go up from there. See photos for the combos we got. I love a brioche bun, and it was the perfect combo for these juicy burgers. Gami Burger has been on our list since they first opened, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We already loved their sister restaurant Origami Asian Grill, so expectations were high and they delivered. The space itself really stood out right away. It's spacious inside with a walk-up counter and a clear view of the prep line and kitchen, which I always appreciate. The decor is clean and modern with diner-style seating, and there's also a bar area featuring several local beers on draft. Outside is a whole vibe too, with large picnic tables that make it a great spot to hang out, especially on a nice day. Now the food... everything hit. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich was incredible. A huge piece of dark meat, fried and seasoned perfectly. The aioli was spot on, definitely messy in the best way, and the brioche bun was buttery and super soft. The heirloom tomatoes added a really nice, fresh flavor. The BBQ Chicken Sandwich on brioche was next level. Grilled dark meat with a smoky BBQ sauce, topped with a fat onion ring and ooey gooey melted cheese. Insanely good. We also shared the Double GAMI Burger with two smashed patties, house-made sauce, and pickles that had a little kick. A perfect classic burger done right. For something lighter, the chopped salad surprised me. Avocado, hard-boiled egg, bacon, and an Asian-style cabbage with a sesame flavor that tied it all together really well. Both the curly and waffle fries were crispy, well-seasoned, and gave total old-school nostalgia vibes. Even though it was busy, the service was great. Word of mouth travels fast and I heard this was a spot worth checking out. I've been to Origami (their sister restaurant) and have enjoyed their food. Location wise, it is an awkward spot to get into. Parking fills up fast and they run out of food so I went a couple hours after they opened on a Sunday. It was worth the 25 minute drive out there; I plan on going back! Pros: I was greeted immediately after coming in by the friendly staff. Shoutout to the employee who helped me get my ring that I dropped under the restaurant owner's car. Loved the burgers (ordered the pastrami and the double with egg, avocado and mushrooms with sweet potato and curly fries). I love that you can get the burgers as is and additions are reasonable. Burger was seasoned well and the additions paired very well with it. Pastrami was great, I enjoyed the sauce it had. Burgers and sandwiches come with fries. I really enjoyed the seasoning in the sweet potato fries, but they seemed a little more on the burnt side. I saw the kids PB & J and it looked real good. Cons: parking is a bit tricky. I was really looking forward to eating here because I love a good burger, but my teen daughter and I were really disappointed. Pros: 1) Service was very friendly 2) Homemade ranch was yummy 3) Waffle fries have tons of flavor 4) Sunomono pickles (I wish they sold them separately) Cons: 1) Curly fries were underseasoned and overcooked 2) Shoestring fries were fairly bland 3) My burger was fine. If you had asked me about Gami Burger a year ago, I would have given you a rave review and you would've found me at this neighborhood spot on the regular. I was so excited to have an amazing alternative to what used to be Willie's, which had taken a nosedive in its last year or so, and I was regularly lobbying my family to go to Gami. It's sad and disappointing how much can change in just a year. Gone are the soft buns, perfectly cooked burger patties, juicy heirloom tomatoes, and general feeling of satisfaction before, during, and after devouring that burger. It took me three straight visits the last couple months to sadly confirm this truth. But the doozy was that after having dinner here on Thursday, May 14th, 7 people I know (including my two kids and myself) from 4 separate families came down with food poisoning after all eating burgers that night. Those that had the chicken sandwich that night were unscathed. If you're skeptical, that was the only thing the 4 families shared in common; my in laws went back to the Bay Area, and one of the families we only happened to run into that night and do not otherwise spend time with. The kicker is that when I tried to call Gami to notify them of this so they could investigate and handle accordingly (I asked for nothing), a) I had a hard time finding Gami's phone number, so after a Google search, I called a number that ended up belonging to one of the Gami owners (I only know this because he identified himself as such); and b) after informing him of the 7 people from 4 families that got sick after eating burgers on 5/14, he only replied that they had not had any other reports of food poisoning. There was not a single apology or expression of concern. Very disappointing from an establishment that had become our go to neighborhood spot. Actually, the real kicker was when my $120 worth of food for my party of 6 was ready at the pick up counter. When my MIL noticed the ranch she had asked the cashier for when we ordered wasn't on either of the food trays, she asked the man at the pick up counter for ranch (pretty sure he is either a manager or higher up the food chain - mustached and tattooed man). He told her she didn't order a ranch, and even went through the trouble of checking our receipt, before looking at her as if she was trying to scam him out of a 50 cent side of ranch. She offered to pay for it, but he ultimately took pity on her and handed over the 2 tablespoons worth of ranch. Next level service, really. 5 stars all across the board! This place is solid! I rarely go out to eat these days because it costs too much and it doesn't taste good. My hubby and I were looking for a place to grab some good eats that had a patio with outdoor seating and dog friendly so we could bring our dog and we found our new favorite spot! You can grab a double burger and fries for under $20 and it's well worth it. They have specials on Sundays and you will not be disappointed. My husband got the double beef burger and I got the Lamb burger special and added a fried egg. We both got onion rings and shared some waffle fries. Everything was absolutely delicious! Don't sleep on their special Gami sauce either! It's like a fry sauce with jalapeño sooooo good! From the moment we sat down they brought our dog water. They were so attentive and even brought our baby girl a burger patty! The entire staff was beyond friendly. We will definitely be going back regularly. Had the cheeseburger- it was delicious. The bun was fresh and soft. The patty was thick and seasoned really well, giving the burger great flavor in every bite. I have been here 3 times. There burgers are really good. I like how the fries come with the burgers. My first time here, I ordered the double with bacon, pickles on the side. The meat is super flavorful, the bread is toasted, the bacon is good and so is the American cheese. My new go-to order is a triple burger with double bacon and a fried egg. They have a nice selection of beer/wine/cider. The service is good, they ask if you need anything while you are eating, and they are quick to clean your table and get it ready for the next customers. read more

Tried Whittey's the weekend before Gami's... and um, someone explain how Gami can have a line OUT THE DOOR and still run smoother than butter while Whittey's can't even figure out online orders. For my birthday, I chose Gami over the fine dining my husband had reserved (LOVE him, but I was hungry and those reservations were at 7:30). He pivoted, and off to Gami we went. They were busy, but no one in line seemed to think twice about waiting. There's plenty of seating, but if it's packed, you might want to grab your food to go unless you luck out and snag a table when someone leaves. When we got to the front, the guy taking orders was super chill. Answered all my questions without rushing me. I forgot to tell him it was for to-go but the bald guy that was bagging peoples order was ON TOP OF HIS ISH. There was a girl that was about to take care of it but he was like 'I got it' and a part of me was like 'F#%k yes, he's got it!' (Lol). Here's what we got: Ahi Tuna Burger - 3/10. Lacked flavor, most of the taste came from the coleslaw. Pastrami Burger - 10/10. I just love pastrami in general so I knew I was going to like this regardless. Gami Double - 10/10. I'm surprised my Husband let me have his burger lol. I'm getting this next time with extra cheese. Onion Rings, my personal favorite. It's the crunch for me! I practically ate the whole thing. This place is exceptional! Upon arriving it was no surprise that the parking was going to be bad but it was ok we parked around the corner! Gami Burger is an Order First type of place, and we love that! The menu is sweet and short, which makes everything so much easier when it comes to making decisions on what to eat. The prices were GREAT $13 for a burger fries and soda? Sign me upppppp. We had no problem finding a place to sit even though it was really busy. The tables also had a QR code that allows you to place an order. GREAT FEATURE. This place is very staffed, and it reflected in the short amount of time we waited for our food. The Burger, the Fries and our Soda, insane 10/10. The minute we left we told our family how deliciuous it was and they decided to also make thier way over!! I've been wanting to try this place since it's opened and I'm so happy we finally tried it. This was the best burger and salad emphasis on the salad I've ever had. It was so good. There were so many flavors and I wanted to try so many more items I also added on sweet potato fries and a milkshake, which was the best decision I could've made. Gami burger is delicious. I had the double with bacon and caramelized onions. Had the onion rings and the criss cut fries with a side of ranch. Service was fast.
