Egg salad sandwich with fresh made tortilla chips n salsa.

I had a brunch here at Lido cafe this past July. Yup, it's been awhile and now I'm finalizing my draft review. The cafe in Carmichael, CA, gets a thumbs up from me though. It's the type of place is becoming extinct... family owned and operated, neighborhood signature vibes, simple good homemade food, and decent pricing. The hours are 7am-2pm Wednesday-Sunday. I dropped in on a late Sunday morning. The place was packed. Bustling with lots folks ranging from large generational families, solo diners, young teenagers with their friends on break to golden couples happily trudging along with their walkers. But even me and hubs could feel the sense of family ownership and welcoming neighborly vibes. Trust me, I don't get those vibes often. They had patio dining as well, but it was a bit hot for me to sit outside in July even with the shaded covering. But I'm a wimp regarding the summer heat. We sat inside. Comfortable and air conditioned. When it's a full house, it is loud and crowded. For folks with hearing aids, the tables along the walls are the best bet. I ordered an almond milk latte. I didn't have high hopes of anything spectacular, but I was wrong. It was deliciously smooth and creamy with an airy froth and espresso flavor. Darn delicious. One of the best I've ever tasted. I also ordered a half order of eggs benedict. Luv that they offered a half order, most places don't. The hollandaise sauce was smooth and the poached egg had a satisfying perfect yolk ooze. The flavors were ok overall. Hubs ordered an egg salad sandwich that came with fresh fried tortilla chips n salsa. No complaints from him. Another cool thing about the menu is that they offer doggie meals (for your fur babies). No lie. The meals average $4.95 and come with a water bowl. Dogs are served on the patio. Also if your dog needs to do his business, there is an ample strip of lawn with shade trees near the sidewalk in front of the parking lot.

I had a veggie omelet with bacon and my Hubby had chocolate chip pancakes and scrambled eggs

Once again, Lido's never disappoints. Food, exquisite! Scott was our waiter, phenomenal service. The owner of course exceptional hostess. Place was packed. Christmas decorations We're perfec tly placed with good taste. They can't keep me away. Thanks Lido café!

Been here twice, both times were very, Very good! The first time I had the fitness omelette and this time I had the chicken apple sausage plate. My friend had the chicken fried steak and he loved it: said he was stuffed! lol It's a cute, quaint spot where everyone is upbeat and hospitable, including the owner. Great breakfast and lunch options, a full bar, a baked goods & pastry case. Definitely worth checking out!

We tried this place for the first time today. The chicken fried steak, eggs, and sausage were very good but everything else was not. The strawberry cream cheese french toast had a very artificial flavor to it, the biscuit and gravy was very dry, and the potatoes were bland and not cooked properly. The server was very friendly and attentive. Maybe we will come back and try something else since most of the food was tasty and the service was good.

We came here after my morning hair appointment. This was recommended by my hairdresser. She liked the place and said it was good. She was not wrong. When you walk in, you just grab some menus that are stacked on the table and seat yourself. I ordered the Corn beef hash and my husband ordered strawberry French toast with eggs and a protein. Everything tasted yummy. Service was good. No complaints.

My husband introduced me to this charming café almost 10 years ago, and they have never disappointed! You can catch us here once a month, savoring the delightful atmosphere. We usually choose to sit at the counter to watch all the mouthwatering dishes being prepared--it's quite the experience! They have some of the best waffles I've ever tasted--I'm literally drooling just thinking about them. The service is always quick, and the food is consistently piping hot and delicious. They also have a bar and serve up some killer manmosas that are perfect for a brunch treat. Whether it's breakfast, brunch, or lunch, this place never disappoints!

    Biscuit & gravy

Place was packed! Got an order of biscuit & gravy. The biscuit was not fresh & was very dry. The gravy was fantastic though! Will try again for sit down & sample more of the menu.

Cute little cafe. Friendly service and they still served us 15 minutes before closing time. The food was pretty good! The fries were fresh and so were the onion rings. The sandwich I wish was a little less "sandwich at home like" but all in all it's not a place where you go for immaculate vibes . Overall experience was great! I would recommend for a quick family brunch or breakfast. OH we both got water and one glass tasted fine, the other tasted funky almost like salt water.

When I walked in, the lady at the counter greeted me in the most unique way possible: by staring at me in silence until I made it to the register. Eventually, I got a menu and ordered the Turkey Chipotle and Chicken Pesto Club. I have to give credit where it's due--the sandwiches were delicious. The Chicken Pesto Club was packed with flavor, the marinated chicken was juicy, and the bacon tied everything together perfectly. The Turkey Chipotle was so good I went back for the second half later. That's when I got an unexpected extra ingredient: a long hair in my sandwich. Nothing kills a craving faster than that. As someone who works in the food industry, that's a pretty big miss and instantly ruined my appetite. Cookie? Mac salad? Straight to the trash. The food was honestly great, but finding a hair in my sandwich definitely took some shine off the "best sandwiches in Carmichael" title.

There was also a side of complimentary pickles that came with the meats that were quite tasty! My only criticism was the cornbread, hubby liked it but I thought it was too dry. The restaurant sign is hard to miss, and they have a good amount of parking available. The inside is decked out in old memorabilia, posters, and racing signage and it has an old school feel. You can order to-go, like I did, at the counter or get a table and enjoy a seated experience. The people working here are friendly and when I let them know it was my first time they were happy to answer questions. I ended up ordering the Pepper Steak sandwich, the Italian Cold Cuts sandwich, a pepperoni pizza, and a side of mac salad. The pizza is a simple one, but had plenty of cheese and is perfect if you're craving it. The medium size they offer is perfect for sharing and could easily feed 2-3 people on its own. The pepper steak sandwich is one of the items they're known for and after taking a couple bites I could see why. The mixture of cooked meat, onion, and peppers along with the fresh bread, tomatoes and seasoning is so flavorful. The sauce soaks into the bread to make each bite delicious. The Italian Cold Cut was very unique. I had heard it's a favorite, but I didn't expect something as out of the ordinary. There's laters of meat and cheese on the bread l, and then there is a sweet pickle relish (like you'd put on a hotdog) and then plenty of chopped tomato and onion and sub sauce. The sweetness of the relish through me off, but works with the sandwich. Something interesting about both sandwiches is that they didn't have sandwich toppings like lettuce that wouldn't rewarm well. The chopped tomatoes and onion are great cold, but if you decide to reheat your sandwich they're still great. I don't know if this was the plan but it worked out well. The portion sizes on everything were also fair for the price, and the food was filling. I'm excited to visit again to explore more of the menu, including their meatball sub, pastrami, and cannoli.
