Definitely recommend this place. It was such a nice sushi restaurant. Everything was perfect, the food was fresh and crispy. Service was in high level.

Great service, excellent fresh sushi. I go there for lunch at least once every week. The rainbow roll is my go to favorite. Their Happy Hour specials are a steal.

Very good American-style sushi for the price. My wife and I are very happy this place is in our general vicinity when we're not looking to cook and want something fairly refreshing at a decent price point. Service has always been prompt. Sushi chefs are fun to watch sitting up at the bar. We've had 4 of their rolls, the flaming shrooms appetizer, and the mixed tempura. The rolls were solid, if not spectacular. Lots of sauce. Obviously some super fresh, minimalist style nigiri would be preferable, but you're probably not coming here for that. The mixed tempura was massive! Like way too big of pieces, actually. Overall very good. We'll be back many times.

The dozens of times we gone here its always been sooo good...but today everything was completely 180. first sign when we opened the bag very strong smell of days old salmon. The salad dressing was extremely watered down, bone in our terrikii chicken. Really disappointed the sudden change in quality. Hoping its just a bad night and next time its back to what we love

Definitely the best sushi spot in Carmichael. The inside is modern and maintained really well. The staff and owner Alex running this place know how to serve up some quality sushi and treat guests top tier. This place is definitely the Shogun of sushi.

Another great experience! The fish is incredibly fresh and the flavor combinations are on point. We enjoyed some fun sake bombs and, as always, received the best service. A go-to spot for consistently delicious seafood and a great time. Recommend!!!

We are so thankful to have Shogun Sushi in our neighborhood. The food is always fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious, but what truly stands out is the people. Daniel and Rebecca have consistently been friendly, attentive, and welcoming, even when we are not seated in their sections. On separate occasions, both have shown genuine compassion, care, and a strong sense of community. Most recently, Rebecca made a meaningful impact on our family by praying with us for a loved one going through serious health challenges. Tonight, she remembered us and was genuinely happy to hear that prayers had been answered. Daniel also noticed when we needed a little extra attention and stepped in right away. We also appreciate Alex, who always helps make sure everyone is taken care of, and Andrew, whose creativity always shows in the beautiful and delicious rolls. It means a lot to have a restaurant nearby that not only serves amazing food, but truly cares about its customers and community. Highly recommend!

1st time going here, ordered online from their website, and it was super easy. They fulfilled all my lunch time desires: ready on time, staff was friendly, restaurant was clean, and food (Alaska roll and zig-zag hand roll) was delicious. This will be my new sushi go-to place.

My husband surprised me with a dinner date at Shogun Sushi, and it was such a treat! The Omakase Sashimi Platter was absolutely amazing! Everything was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. We also ordered a few sushi rolls, but they were so good they disappeared before I could get a picture. Great vibes, amazing service!

Are there cutoff dates or holiday hours for boat orders?

Is this business still open? I've been trying to call and no one answer. OR are they open on Wednesday?

Hello yes we are open 7 days a week.

Are you still open? Last two times I went during work hours you were closed, and no one answered phone

I'm so sad/mad. I made a reservation for 5 women, lunch this week. Lovely young lady took my name, phone, 'event' info. Next day we arrived 12noon. Closed. I would have…

Do you all do take out orders? We have tried ordering take out 8 times now and when someone answers the phone they always say "can you please hold?" We hold for 10 Minutes +…

They do! Recently some staffing issues but I know they are getting it dialed in as of recent.

Not sure if you're open? Called earlier. No response. Online it says you're open. We stopped by anyways, around 12:30pm, Location was closed. No signs up about hours changing. Hours in window indicated they were open.

We went there in December. Like wise they were not open even though the hours said it would be open.

Hi, are you open? I hope yes, because I love your restaurant but wasn't able to reach you by phone.

Hello, yes we’re still open, but we’ve been having serious staffing issues so we’ve been having trouble keeping the restaurant open 6 days a week as scheduled. It’s always best if you call first. If you get the machine then we were unable to open.…

Just tried calling and the phone number is no longer in service. Have you officially closed? If so, so sad to see you go.

Gina, Thank you for letting us know. It seems that there's been some work going on in the strip…

I've been driving by checking to see if you are open. Based on all the reviews and your replies, it seems you won't be open due to being short staffed. Can you at least put up a sign that you are temporarily closed to avoid frustrated customers?

Jessica, Thank you for that suggestion. The only reason that we haven't placed a sign on the door…

Hi! Have hours changed recently? Family and I have called a few times and no one has picked up the phone on those days. We miss you Shogun Sushi! Thanks!

Hi Stephanie we've been severely under staffed for the last month now and we're doing our best to get more bodies into the restaurant so we can go back into full time regular hours. We will always answer the phone when we're here.. So the best I…

What are your hours? We've tried to contact this place twice and have came to the store during their posted open hours and nobody picked up and their sign was closed and yet I see reviews

Sarah, We're very sorry about your experience with not being able to get hold of us, or finding…

I don't see any information on sushi platters/boats. Is this an option?

Absolutely available and best pricing! Just ask!

Is there new restaurant hours due to covid?

Their hours of business M-F 11a-3p, 5p-9p; Saturday 5p-9p; Sunday Closed

Is this all you can eat?

No. This is not an "all you can eat" restaurant. The best thing, however, is that it doesn't need to be. Shogun Sushi is more "all the quality you can find" restaurant.

There were two other tables of folks when we got there around 5:30 and a few takeout orders came in while we were there. Only two people working, so I'm glad there wasn't a crowd! They managed perfectly well. We started with the chili edamame - it was delicious! Simple and tasty. My husband got the Udon noddle stir fry with chicken. It was really good! Not greasy or salty, just flavorful! Lots of fresh veggies and the noodle to meat/veg ratio was on the mark in my book! I got the chicken and prawn hibachi! So good!! It had a little too much sauce for me (even after asking for very light sauce), but that didn't stop me from enjoying it immensely! We had plenty left for lunch today and the best part - no congealed oil on either dish! I felt like it was a little pricey for three dishes ($57), but the portions were huge, so it covered two meals. We would definitely eat there again.

I tried their sukiyaki set, both wagyu and seafood. I wish they had given some instructions on the approach or order I should eat the sets of food. It was a little chaotic trying to figure out how I could submerge all the ingredients in the broth so they would cook evenly. The tempura is perfectly crispy, but the rice was a little brittle and got dried really fast. The texture was more like Vietnamese broken rice, and it caught me off guard because when I tried their sushi a while ago, they used very high-quality rice. As is typical with sukiyaki, the broth becomes very flavorful at the end, absorbing all the flavors from high-quality ingredients, but my udon got a little dry while waiting. Since I tried both set, the wagyu sukiyaki broth became a little too sweet at the end. My favorite is definitely the seafood sukiyaki broth. Would I try these pricy sukiyaki again? Probably not. Would I go back to Azayaka again? 100%. This would not discourage me from going back there any amount.

We are glad we did and we'll probably return due to the freshness of their food. The rainbow roll was just right not too fishy. The chicken teriyaki, miso and edamame also tasted fresh and delicious. Some other sushi places usually have a similar taste or the chicken doesn't taste as fresh but here, the food was of a different quality. The edamame too tasted different with what they called the "spicy edamame". It wasn't your typical chili flake spice; this one tasted like a bit of gochujang or miso paste. It was a nice change from what you normally get at other Japanese places. The inside is just on the smaller scale so if you have a large group, it may not work out especially if they are busy. They also do not have an outdoor area. So, I would say 1-4person group would work. We came on a Friday evening and there was only 1 table of 2 left for us. So, we will definitely be back.
