This lumber yard gets great reviews, but I'm a bit befuddled after some recent phone calls today. I'll I was trying to get was a price quote for five different sizes of lumber, so I can put to together a rough estimate for what a fence I'm going to be building will cost. That's it...... Instead, I had somebody from sales put me off over the phone. Wanted me to send in an email... Really??? All I need is a price for FIVE different lengths of lumber. I'm so very sorry that I asked a question of the difference between premium lumber and heart lumber. I was then put on hold, for approximately 20 minutes. Excellent place, was looking for some wood for a project and they got all kinds form small pieces to big sheets to fancy hardwoods. A bit intimidating since it looks like it's for huge projects, but if you wanted a could peices it's okay too. The front of the store looks like most home improvement stores selling things like wheelbarrows to traffic comes. The back area is where the magic is, just rows and rows of lumber. I love how clean and neat the store is it just makes me feel so happy at the organization. It's nice when the employees take pride in their work area. If you know what you're getting just go to the counter under the Hardwoods sign and they'll get you sorted with your receipt and order. If you are cutting down a big sheet you get five cuts for free, then additional cuts are 50 cents each, so plan ahead also measure your vehicle if you have a compact like me. You wait outside for your forklift of goodies, the staff even loaded the lumber for me in my car. I was super impressed, and how do they do it without gloves? Don't you get splinters?! read more

The back is where the magic happens. There are all kinds of lumber divided by type of wood and size. We've come here wanting to make wood-framed screens to keep critters out of our crawl space and to buy the wood to build a raised garden bed. If you have the type of wood in mind, and the measurements, Ganahl will cut the wood to size. John prefers Ganahl to Home Depot because their wood cutting services are so much more superior. Ganahl is generally frequented by contractors. The appeal to me? The store is GORGEOUS. It's clean, modern, and spacious. The employees are ridiculously abundant, professional, and helpful. We probably pay a bit of a premium to obtain this luxury in a hardware store and lumber yard but it's definitely worth it! read more

Ohhhhh boyyyyy!! If you aren't going here you're crazy. First of all the review is for my boy Lloyd. This man knows his paint. I literally just jumped off my ladder while painting to write this review. After going to Home Depot for all my paints and failing with everyone I decided to come here for some paint. Today Lloyd made my life so much easier and recommended a certain paint for a metal awning I have and has given me hell since I started painting. I've been using the Rust-oleum paint and it doesn't stick and after almost giving up Lloyd pointed out the correct paint. The Aqua-life paint for metal and guess what!!??!!! It works like a dream. First off, will say that Ganahl Lumber carries a nice line of brands for your window and door needs. A fairly good selection to touch, sample and price for your needs. I dealt with two salesmen along my eventual purchase process. Matthew and Miguel. Initially, there service and follow through were poor. Even after subsequent visits and sending approved plans it took weeks to get an estimate and often emails and calls were ignored. Eventually there response improved and did receive a terrific estimate from Matt for Marvin windows. The account was transferred over to Miguel since he had a previous working relationship with my project manager, Frank. While Miguel was responsive I did not get a feeling he was that motivated to win my door business. After comparing bids with two other door providers I ultimately went with another company. While I did finally get my windows delivered yesterday the initial delivery time fell through. The communication and advance notice for delays and changes could be improved. My overall feeling is quality products at this company but only fair customer service. read more

I wish I could give 5 stars, but I can only give 3 stars at this point because Ganahl's door and window salesperson Adriana Duarte was incompetent and abusive. When my husband and I discovered she erroneously ordered textured interior doors instead of smooth doors as per our verbal instructions and multiple emails with photos of our existing doors that we told her to match, Adriana Duarte said we would have to accept the textured doors. In addition, when our doors and windows were delivered to our home, the delivery man refused to unload them because he alleged a forklift was necessary. Adriana Duarte told us prior to the delivery that only 3 people were needed to unload the doors and windows, and there were indeed 3 people at the time of delivery. When we tried to arrange for re-delivery, Adriana Duarte said we would have to pay another $250 delivery fee and a $75 fee for a forklift because my husband allegedly refused to step on the truck bed. A complete falsehood. Adriana Duarte also reiterated that we would have to accept the textured doors, and threatened that if we didn't pay another $250 delivery fee and a $75 fee for a forklift, we would be charged $50 per day for storage and then after 2 weeks our doors and windows would be donated. Basically, Adriana Duarte's attitude was that since we had already paid the total of $15,459.97 due for our doors and windows, we needed to accept her incorrect textured doors and Go Away. When we asked to speak to her supervisor, Adriana Duarte tried to dissuade us from doing so because per her June 1, 2023, 8:20 pm email, "there likely will not be any new information in your conversation with the Operations manager". Nevertheless, my husband and I arranged to meet with the General Manager Luis Rojas and Adriana's supervisor, Chris, to deal with the delivery and incorrect textured doors issues. Luis and Chris were exceedingly PROFESSIONAL and polite and solved both issues to our Complete Satisfaction. Luis and Chris arranged for 2 smooth skinned interior doors to be ordered without charge to replace the textured doors Adriana Duarte erroneously ordered, and agreed we should not be charged for a second delivery. In addition, Luis and Chris noted that the french doors we ordered were not properly fabricated and offered to send them back for replacements free of charge which we agreed to. Despite our very bad experience with an apparently rogue Ganahl's salesperson, Adriana Duarte, we will patronize Ganahl's Lumber in the future because Ganahl's Lumber has a great selection of quality products, a beautiful showroom, and their managers go above and beyond to correct mistakes by the underlings. Looking forward to changing my review to 5 stars when we patronize Ganahl's Lumber again. read more

Their hardware section is well-stocked enough to save me a trip to Home Depot unless I need something pretty obscure. But the lumber section is where they shine. For sheet goods and dimensional lumber, you can just call in an order and pick it up a few hours later. But I went in person recently when I needed some hardwood, and everyone I interacted with was friendly and patient with me even as a hobbyist woodworker who doesn't know his way around a lumber yard. Jacob explained the process, helped me pick out some maple, pointed me toward the cashier, then made the cuts I needed as I loaded the finished pieces straight into my car. Bottom line: if you need lumber but don't know how lumber yards work, you can just go to Ganahl, say "I don't know how any of this works, but I need lumber," and they'll be nice to you. Every employee was wearing a mask (and properly, too -- none of the under-the-nose business), and they're diligent about social distancing in queues and at the service counters. read more

Everything was good until one & then the second electronic door lock failed in installation. Believe me that's when you need Corey. She could have just made the sale & left me to fight out the problem but she believes no sale is final until the customer is satisfied. She got me a full refund of the 1st lock (in all its disassembled pieces) & worked with the sales rep of the 2nd lock to get the missing accessory. I went in in May spoke with Joe in the window department. He was very helpful ordering me some parts for my Milguard windows. After two visits, many emails and over 2 months I have still not received anything. The last time I spoke with Joe he told me the parts would be in in 2 days. Since that day, around July 6th he has not communicated whatsoever. It's as if he has left the business. It's become so awkward calling and leaving messages. The store is beautiful, clean, and well-stocked. The staff was friendly, informative, and very helpful. I ordered fifteen, 15-foot pieces of MDF baseboard and paid $125 for delivery. I was asked if I would help the driver unload my order, and I said yes. The delivery arrived on the appointed date within the promised time window @ 7:30 a.m. So, why two stars? When I saw the truck in front of my house, I put on my clothes and shoes and went out to move my cars out of the driveway and assist with the unloading. I found the load was already off the truck and sitting in my driveway atop a fifteen-foot long 12x2 plank behind my parked cars. I asked the 20-something-year-old driver for assistance in moving the delivery into my garage. (There was a mist in the air, and I was concerned it might rain.) To my utter amazement, he said no, curbside delivery only, pointing out that my driveway was way back there. (My house is on a small lot. There is no room for anything to be "way back" from anywhere.). So I roused by 67-year-old wife who has sciatica and chronic rheumatoid arthritis, which makes her very unstable on her feet, and the two of us moved the load past two cars in the driveway and into the garage. I then dragged the 2x12 plank to the back of the house to clear the driveway. Ganahl should fire the lazy girlie-man who delivered my order. read more

I went in the day the of the grand opening (Feb. 6), and was greeted by many smiling and helpful associates who were more than willing to help. The store is very clean and well organized, and has a great selection. All of the aisles are well marked with what it contains, very much like a grocery store. It's really refreshing to go into a hardware store / lumber yard where everything is organized and clean. Plus, there are folks that can fill your order or help you load your cart and then load your car or truck. Home Depot isn't really a lumber yard and they don't carry "A" stock and they don't carry nice hardwoods. However this place is a real lumber yard with a great selection or high quality wood and construction grade lumber. You still might have to dig through the pile to get a straight stick but at least you can find the wood you want. I was worried the lumber would be more expensive than Home Depot but generally the prices were the same if not lower. A sheet of MDF was 2 dollars less than Home Depot. 2x4s where about 50 cents more but they were way better quality. Also, the cuts were way better here than Home Depot. No wandering around and waiting 25 minutes to find some one to do a cut. And the cuts were accurate. Not to mention that they perfectly ripped a but of trim for me that would be impossible for me to get done at Home Depot and annoying for me to do on my table saw. Lumber yards generally can offer competitive pricing on lumber because they actually do a lot of volume. My guess is that Home Depot might be more competitive on tools and whatnot but it's a case by case thing. Happy to have a nice lumber yard close by. read more

Gave us quotes on the spot, and drew up sketches of other options when we had ideas. He then followed up with us via email, to provide quotes for anything he couldn't provide the day we'd gone in. Turns out, Ganahl had better prices than both Lowes and Home Depot. And their stuff is so tasteful. The showroom is well organized, easy to look through. They also had some catalogs if what you want isn't in the showroom. We haven't even purchased the door yet, but it was such a great experience that I had to write a review. MASSIVE place with every kind of wood you can imagine. The staff is super helpful and friendly. I was in and out in less that 20 minutes and that includes picking out and getting my selection cut. If you are building any kind of structure this is your place. I didn't spend time in their store (huge like Home Depot), I was mainly out in the lumber area but it seems they have a fully stocked hardware store as well. I definitely will be back. read more

My husband and I went to Ganahl lumber to buy paint, actually stain, for our fence. We had excellent service, the paint specialist was so knowledgeable and helpful.
