The woman at the counter was helpful in telling us what was part of the event and upgrade options. We chose to have the grilled cheese panini and the Fancy Italy. We found a seat at one of the tables and shortly after, our sandwiches were served. The sandwiches were well assembled and pressed to perfection, toasting the bread without sacrificing its soft interior and warming the ingredients through. The Fancy Italy had finely shaved prosciutto, goat cheese, spinach and fig spread. The ham was sliced so thinly it was easy to bite through and chew. The balance of salty and sweet between the ham and the fig was divine, with the tangy goat cheese rounding out the sandwich to create something delicious. The grilled cheese was pretty straightforward but nothing special. An assortment of cheese I couldn't particularly identify melted together to make a fairly standard grilled cheese. Their grilled cheese is a testament to the beauty of restraint. The bread - crisp outside giving way to cloud-like middle - delivers that textural contradiction that separates civilization from barbarism. A blend of cheddar and American cheese, melted to that precise moment, speaks to someone in the kitchen who knows about timing. It's buttery without apology. The prosciutto sandwich offers a more complex narrative - paper-thin ham playing against the yummy anarchy of fig spread, while goat cheese delivers that farmyard funk. They said no as soon as we left and walked out to our car, my son started having an allergic reaction severely. I don't know if they didn't rinse the containers and it was cross-contamination but they need to do better. My baby ended up going to the hospital via ambulance & needed an EpiPen & breathing treatments, needless to say we spent our holiday in the hospital for hours. This is not OK. They need to have a whole separate station for allergies free container containers that you make smoothies in this could've been very badly for my son who is only seven. And no one asked us as soon as we walked in there. If there was a nut allergy my son actually asked the staff if there was nuts in his shake please do better. This is not OK and cannot happen again.

If I was staying in the area for a longer duration and buying groceries, I would pick up another bag of those 'Not Your Mama's Bars'. Thank goodness I found this adorable shake shop, hidden in a nondescript plaza right next to a Stop n' Shop supermarket. The menu is extensive and impressive, and even though the shakes sound decadent, they are actually healthy and packed with protein - just what you need to fuel up before tackling a jaunt to Cliff Walk or cool down after a run on Bellevue Avenue.
