Or repurposing some old materials into something new. Maybe you have other purchases in mind rather than photoshop suite, a space to shoot objects, a table saw, a compressor, drills, or a welding rod. Creative tools can be expensive... why not share instead of investing in something you will use only a few times? Well, you can thank your lucky stars you stumbled across this place, and thank the Mother/Son team who built the organization along with other contributors and volunteers. Lots of love has poured into Chimera. A dream come true for anyone who wants to take on new project or learn a new skill. Walking around I couldn't help but notice creativity fills every inch of the space, a 100 year old Truck converted to battery powered by solar, a fun frisbee game welded out of bicycle tires, chains and a stand... a two seater recumbent bike (maybe a burning man creation?) awesome sculptures hanging inside. I feel fortunate to have come here with friends to work on another friend's project. We spent the day in the space working quietly and met a handful of people. Including an inventor who was volunteering at the front desk, and a web designer who helps fellow makers create an online presence and market their work. Helpful, cheerful, and excited about what this space is for the community each and every person lit up with a smile when they talked about how great Chimera is. With entry level memberships at around $10 per visit, it's affordable for even a dabbler or someone from out of town who wants to rent an airbnb and have a long weekend of tinkering. Conveniently located near downtown, the community market (also a NPO, run by VERY nice volunteers) is across the street offering locally made food, and an organic food bar. There is a CVS several doors down, and downtown has a variety of restaurants and a whole foods market too. If you're still reading, you're clearly curious... Come learn how to 3D Print, or use a laser cutting machine, weld, sew, make jewlery, and then photograph your Etsy worthy pieces and have a great time! Need photoshop or video editing? They have computer stations you can use too. Such a great spot! Come on by and say hello. I promise they're friendly. The Scene: Artsy Fun, Creatives, Inventors, Co-Working Destination Rating: 9 Date Rating: 10 Hob Nob Potential:9 Strong Suggestion: Even if you do not live close by it would be worth the drive. GREAT space, lovely town. *** Note: If you have any tools that you would like to donate, I believe they can provide a tax deduction and the community would be grateful.

We wanted it to be restored, the leather was cracking, the brass was coming off, the wood needed care. We showed it to a few people who didn't want to take on this project. Richard was very upfront with the time and money it would require for him to give its best care. He took the time he needed to restore the desk. We had regular communication about it so I knew what Richard was working on. We love how it turned out to the point that we put this precious family object on the shelves in our family room. That way we enjoy it everyday. I would highly recommend Richard to restore antique pieces. He's knowledgeable, professional and nice to work with.

The second was a mid-century dresser of my grandmothers and the latest was a cherry wood Ethan Allen coffee table that was in multiple pieces. For each project he has exhibited true craftsmanship and dedication to bringing my beloved pieces back to life. The the attention to detail was impeccable. I wish I had a before and after picture to show how bad the coffee table was when I brought it to him originally. In addition to top-notch restoration, Rick talked with me beforehand about my expectations for the piece and the finishes I was interested in to make sure I would be satisfied with his work. He is a really friendly nice guy who is very passionate about his work. If you are looked for good restoration, I would highly recommend bringing your pieces to Rick.

Yessica, our main point of contact, was incredibly responsive and always quick to answer messages or address any questions or concerns. Anytime something came up, the team listened carefully to my feedback and fixed it right away. I'm definitely a perfectionist, so details really matter to me--and they truly delivered. I'm especially thrilled with the backsplash, which turned out exactly the way I envisioned and requested. The crew worked very hard and took great pride in their work. Like any remodeling project, there were a few minor delays involving third-party vendors that were outside of their control, but Green Bay Remodeling Inc. did everything they could to work around them and keep things moving. Thanks to their efforts, our kitchen was completed before the holidays, which we were so grateful for. We're extremely happy with the final result, and if we take on another remodeling project, we wouldn't hesitate to work with Green Bay Remodeling Inc. again.

Green Bay Remodeling was the highest bid by 20-50%. We selected Green Bay because they pitched themselves as a turnkey solution and I would simply sit back and just make payments. In reality I needed to be involved constantly to keep this project on track. A few examples: - Sourcing: In the sales meeting, we were told that materials would be sourced by them from their "catalog" and shipped from "their warehouse". I liked the simplicity of that, but in reality, they order things from online vendors like Wayfair and Home Depot and shipped directly to my home. This turned my garage space into their warehouse for nearly 2 months. Also, it is just bad business to ship heavy, breakable things - for example, we had 2 toilets delivered to our home in giant packages - both of which were broken on arrival. (there's a hardware store less than a mile from my home that has toilets in stock) - Communication: We were promised daily updates, this did happen once the construction work started because they often wanted a payment, but we went for long times not hearing during planning process. - Timeline was set by PM as 4 weeks from sign date for permits and planning (closer to 8 weeks due to absences and avoidable omissions on permit application) and 4 weeks for construction (that was met with multiple issues and creative workarounds deployed). - Presence: We understood the PM would be present on the site and would be the main point of contact, but he was missing at key times - including during an inspection with the city permitting department - Attention to detail: Materials were sourced late or incorrectly (a 60 inch vanity ordered rather than 72inch) and broken materials were not identified immediately. We made the construction timeline but only with some creative solutions and lots of legwork. Overall, the guys at GBR are nice, charming people and the finished product looks good. But I give that credit to the amazing sub-contractor who completed the entire project. He covered for their issues and went out of his way to solve problems so that the finished product looked amazing and was finished on time. I would give this person a 5 star review, but I would not engage GBR in the future as this does not reflect value for money.
