Stopped back on the way home and tried the following... Appetizer: Sweet corn nuggets- always amazing. Soup: Pepper Pot - a very tasty rendition of the classic. It might be more correct to call it hamburger soup. Manhattan Clam Chowder - an interesting take that is very celery forward. It makes me think that V8 may have been added. It doesn't taste like the vegetables were sweated in rendered bacon. Not bad overall. Chicken Sausage Gumbo - very good and just started slightly spicy. A great rendition that is chock full of chicken and deep flavor. Entrée: Special - Red Snapper - an amazing texture that is between chicken and lobster. The flavourful fish was flaky and cooked perfectly.

My son and I met to have breakfast. Our server was very pleasant and outgoing. My son ordered the hungry man, which was 2 eggs any way ( he had over easy) home fries , bacon, toast and pancakes or French toast ( he had French toast ) , he enjoyed everything, only complaint he had was that the crust of the French toast was hard. I ordered scrambled eggs, home fries and rye toast. Everything came out hot.... Home fries could use some seasoning, beside that. We enjoyed our breakfast.

First and foremost, it's a diner, folks. ‍ With a new owner since February, 2023, there are great servers, elevated menu items along with the prices and it's an easy on, off the Route 33 from points south to the great North. Besides a staple for the locals, it's the place to stop when hunger hits and the only other options are five fast food joints along that strip of main road. I ordered the liver and sautéed onions, $12, side salad and a potato/vegetable. It's not something I eat frequently and was pleasantly surprised by the preparation with the fresh onions. Really good. We stop in for breakfast once in a blue moon. Always satisfied with that meal. The coffee is better tasting that most fine restaurants. $2 Every Thursday, the desserts are 1/2 OFF: so, $2.25/pie or $3.75 cake (chocolate cheesecake is my fave) and nice selection of sweets. And tonite we had the pleasure of welcoming BOBBIE on board. Diane, Taylor, Peaches and even Georgie are all special servers. Soups are definitely worth their price. Give it a go on your way up or back.

Decent breakfast- the country fried steak was delicious. Eggs cooked perfectly. Service is good. I just wish they had shredded hash brown instead of potatoes

My partner found this spot while searching nearby, and oh how happy I am that he did! I had been craving blueberry pancakes for days and was so excited to have a rare breakfast-for-dinner treat. From the moment we walked in, the warmth of the place completely melted the cold away. We were greeted by a wonderful, incredibly kind waitress, and the atmosphere inside was just so cozy and comforting. There was a lovely mix of people having their supper, including a sweet family of seven eating dinner together at the table next to us. It just had that perfect, welcoming community feel. The menu was seriously impressive. My other half ordered the southern chicken sausage gravy dinner, and it was phenomenal! I got my blueberry pancakes- my absolute favorite - and they completely exceeded expectations. I also tried the lentil soup, which was packed with flavor. Honestly, I don't think you could have a bad meal here if you tried. Our waitress (the same lovely woman who greeted us) chatted with us for a bit and was just so delightful and attentive. I even spotted a rice pudding with strawberries and whipped cream on the dessert menu that looked right up my alley, but between my pancakes and stealing a few delicious bites of the chicken dinner, I was far too full this time around! As we left, I noticed the pretty flowers and the outdoor picnic tables. I'm sure this place absolutely hops on weekend mornings, but it was the perfect rainy evening escape for us. Thank you so much for your incredible hospitality-we are officially adding this to our regular rotation when we are in the area.

Parking up front was plentiful, but they have a service garage and an equipment rental place on each side of them so sometimes the entrances can be tight. They have plenty of table seats and a small bar with diner stools. We sat at a quad by the window. The staff was friendly, great with kids and kept the coffee topped off. They only gave us breakfast menus, but they had all the standards you'd expect. I ordered eggs sunny side up, hash browns, bacon and rye toast. They made a Mickey Mouse pancake for my youngest, eggs and a bagel for the other and a large waffle for my wife. The eggs were on the small side, but delicious, hash browns were crispy, greasy and good. I can't complain it was a comforting meal. The kids were happy and my wife's waffle was enough for a second meal the next morning. The coffee was a tasty typical roasted diner coffee. We had a good family experience here and would return. Thanks guys!

They are almost always a plus to the atmosphere - you get a nice "family" or "community" feeling. The only negative is their parking lot. The auto business next store seems to park cars they are working on there. A few times we went to other restaurants thinking West End was crowded. And even now that we know, it can be annoying trying to get a spot. I wish they could do something about that. There double breakfast (anytime during the day) is to die for - we always take much of it home, since there is so much.
