We made it through 4 staff check points , set up our booth only to be asked to leave an hour into it because our car was in the wrong category on the wrong day. We escorted off the grounds like criminals in a $300k car. Absolutely ridiculous!!! It seems like politics have now made it to our car shows. Highly unorganized and expensive. Too many rules !! Definitely not like it used to be.

We rented two 15-passenger vans for Mexico (flew into San Diego airport) for a week and all went well! At first, I was hesitant because the price was almost half of what was quoted by EZ rent-a-van and it was hard to believe. I phoned Ryan and Carlos several times to get confirmation and ask questions. Though they are closed on weekends (family time), they get the vans ready ahead of time for rental and are available by phone. The drive was 10 minutes and the vans were ready to go on a Sunday. I paid Friday by phone/credit card on Friday, signed electronically and received the rental agreement. Ryan made sure that everything was good for us. Even, when last minute someone returned one of the vans we were going to use, damaged -- he got a replacement ready quickly. The vans themselves were fine - actually a relief that they weren't new - so we felt comfortable travelling in them. One did have a light come on that lasted, but it wasn't serious. We fit 15 persons and put luggage in a truck. Otherwise, it's ideal to have 11 passengers and then room for luggage in the last bench. We drove 3 hours from the border into the hills past Ensenada and that was fine with the Company. After our trip, we dropped the vans off on a Sunday and put the keys in the box. That was it! We will definitely be using Sun Diego Car Rental again and are grateful that the two vans fit right into our non-profit budget!

Bring your track shoes and train for a few months in advance because your gonna walk until your ass falls off. Cars owned by people with way too much money. It's kind of depressing. Some cars are worth more than my house and took years longer to build. I don't know why I go every year. The price jumps a few bucks each time. I guess you get your dollars worth but something seems backwards to me. I have to pay to watch rich people gloat over the money they spent to have someone else build a car for them. When I think about it that way... it just seems wrong but I love cars. Hand painted tiny little parts in places you'd never look. Ridiculous right??? It's hard to rate this event. It's a gigantic spectacle of Hot Rods so big you never see all of them however, the cost is rediculous. I gave it 4 stars because it's huge and well organized but I'm out of money so I can't afford the 5th star.

I had legitimate questions about the warranty and nuCamp policy/process and instead of allowing me to ask questions, he kept interrupting me and would not let me speak. When I finally asked him whether he was going to allow me to ask my question, he said "You know, maybe this isn't the place for you. You should just leave" and he just walked away. Is this really how you treat someone ready to spend more than $40k in your establishment? From the moment he walked up, Paul seemed irritated to be having to answer any questions. Answering questions was an inconvenience. You know, if you can't answer questions, professionally, then you should be in another business, or in no business at ALL. I will NEVER spend my money at such an establishment. I will also be contacting nuCamp, because they should not be selling their products at this place. I would be careful about what this place is offering and their representations. Paul said there was no warranty on a "Demo", but nuCamp offers both a 1 year and 3 year warranty and those warranties are transferrable. This "Demo" was only a year old, yet Paul kept saying there was no warranty. They just wanted it off the lot as-is, which is not right. OR, they just wanted me to purchase their extended warranty. We didn't even get to that topic because he was so rude I just left.
