The took out the prior fence and checked in with our 96 yr old neighbor that we share the fence with to make sure he approved. He did! The walked me thru the finished fence and even added a "puppy protector" mini fence to keep our dog contained. They were super respectful, kind and FAST. They were very friendly, respectful, and considerate of the house. The job was completed in a single day, and they made sure to clean up after themselves. I've hired OrCo for two projects, tiling my sunporch as well as my kitchen and dining room. The sunporch was quick and painless, and their master tiler whipped it out in a day. The kitchen was a bit more of a challenge given the age of my home, unlevel surfaces, and surprise layers of linoleum lurking below what we thought was the bottom layer of flooring. The OrCo brothers were consumate professionals despite these challenges, and by some miracle they were still able to finish the job on time. Honestly, I still don't know how they did it! I love my floors! It's been several weeks since they finished the work, and every morning when I step into my kitchen I look upon the results with joy. I don't know why I didn't contact OrCo sooner! The floor is level, the grout is holding up, and the floors sparkle when I walk in the room. I sourced OrCo in the Projects section of Yelp, and their bid was one of the first responses I received when I published my request for proposal. What I love about the Yelp Projects Workspace is that approved vendors come with a $2500 guarantee from Yelp. That means if the project goes south, or I'm not pleased with the work, Yelp has me covered! OrCo came in with the second lowest bid, and I confidently booked the work based on their positive reviews and the Yelp guarantee. I am looking forward to hiring OrCo again. I don't have a lot of experience tackling big home projects like this, so next time I would like to have more options when it comes to finishing touches like the trim and thresholds for the doorways. Nic Koff, owner operator of Garage Door Excellence, LLC, is probably the only garage door repairman I will use again and that's a major compliment because having rental properties means I've been introduced to the world of "emergency repair people" and since things usually don't break during regular business hours I've also been introduced to weekend and after business hours rates. So, I was surprised that Nic not only answered his telephone after 5:30pm on a Monday night, but he also agreed to come out to my home at 7:00pm later that same night. He arrived early and didn't charge me for "after hours service". No other repairman has ever missed that opportunity so I was surprised when Nic didn't do the same. My garage door was stuck in a partially open position; one side firmly closed and the other side opened by about 6inches. I guessed that a spring had broken or something major like that, but I am embarrassed to admit that wasn't the case and I had caused the garage door problem myself. The fix was simple for Nic and there was no actual repair needed. He charged me for a normal service call (a very reasonable rate) and didn't take advantage of me or my garage door function ignorance, which he could've easily done and I wouldn't have known the difference. Nic is honest, experienced, efficient, fair and value priced; I definitely would recommend him. read more

After reading other positive reviews, I decided to call Garage Door Excellence to repair my garage door. In short, I found out that what others said about this business was spot on. I also had the opportunity to do business with Nic. I called thinking that I knew what was needed for repair, so Nic quoted me accordingly. Nic called to notify he was on his way and arrived at the time he said he would. He was very professional and courteous in communication. Nic looked at my garage door and quickly determined that I was wrong about the type of system I had told him over the phone thus the work I asked him to do and got a quote for wasn't for my system. Nic ended up having to do more work than what was quoted. Despite the additional work, Nic decided to let me pay roughly the cost of the repair for the system that would've required less work. I'm sure as you read this, you will agree that there's not a lot of businesses that would've done that. They would have simply charged you for the additional work. That's a testimony to Nic and how well he treats his customers. My garage door is up and running again and I'm very happy. read more

Outstanding experience with Nic! Our 41-year-old garage door had just about fallen apart, and the other one had a hole in it, and one call got us an immediate call back, same-day visit, and two brand-new doors installed next day- Pricing was better than fair, actually came in less that he said it would be. Not only did he completely install all new parts, doors, and hardware, he hauled off the old doors and parts (at no charge) and left nothing behind but two shiny new doors- I routinely will contact a few contractors to give a ballpark figure for comparison purposes, but after only one call, I knew Nic was the way to go! It is great to work with a professional who takes pride in his craftsmanship and stands behind his work, and his efforts have dramatically increased the curb appeal of our home. Nic also told us about our 6-year old door opener and gave us recommendations for replacement when it gives up. Finding resources for home projects can be very daunting for most. Nic did an excellent job helping us with our new Door and Opener. We had the original wood door and a 24 year old opener that were at the end of their lifecycle. Nic came over and walked through options, design and benefits of different door types and insulation ratings. I had a lot of questions around pros and cons of various door types as the price range can swing wildly. We settled on a medium insulated entry to mid range door. I was not oversold or miss-led through that process. Installation was timely and completed within the estimate. I found Garage Door Excellence through Yelp. Reviews were all positive. My experience was consistent with what other have said. Nic was professional, courteous, and timely. He was at my home when he said he would be and called 15 mins in advance to let me know he would be here. Within 5 mins of arrival, he had provided an estimate for the obvious problem and had given an estimate of costs to replace other items which may need replacing once he started the job. The costs were reasonable and the work was performed very quickly. He left the work area as it was when he arrived...there was no mess left behind. I called at around noon on Thursday, expecting that maybe I'd get next day service at best for a broken spring on my garage door. Nic answered my call and said he'd be here between 1 and 2 pm. same day... he got here at 1:20 pm, it's now 3 pm and the garage door is now functioning like new. About half the time that he was here was spent in conversation. A hearty handshake and an amazing guarantee of his work later he was on his way after completing the work for exactly the amount quoted. Left a service request on this web site Friday 7/28/17 at approximately 0900. No call back so I called the number and left a message in the afternoon. No call back, got a text around 9pm saying sorry for the delay, call tomorrow to set up an appointment. Called Saturday 7/29/17 and again left a message for Nic. Guess what, still no call back and it's now Sunday. It would have been nice to at least hear that he was too busy or out of town or whatever to do it. He is a great role model of today's generation, my wife and I wish we knew more of todays generation that are like him. Well, that's not true any longer, I called on Wednesday when a spring broke and they initially gave me a date of next Tuesday to repair. I got a bit testy and they moved it up to Friday. Terrible experience with Ben's Garage & Gates…read more Installer screwed the garage door opener into the sheetrock of the ceiling, instead of the ceiling joists. A few weeks later the opener fell off the ceiling and crashed onto my car, causing damage that will cost over $4,000 to repair. Despite vague promises on two occasions to pay the cost of the repair, no follow up. Now they take the position that I "accepted" the work and they are not responsible for the damage and will not even refund any of the purchase price. They claim to be bonded and insured, but I checked with the Oregon Construction Contractor's Board for a bond and found no registration for Ben's Garage & Gates. There was a registration for Abraham Bar Lyani, the apparent owner of Ben's, but it was suspended according to CCB because "insurance not on file."

Eric answered the phone every time I called, unlike the other company. He was enthusiastic and spoke knowledgeably about garbage doors openers. Eric had several jobs the day I called, but he offered to still install my opener at 7:30 that evening. At the appointed time, Eric showed up still pleasant and ready to get the job done even though it was late. He worked quickly to install the door and even lubricated a second garage door at no charge. I was very impressed and happy with his work. I will be using Garage Door Experts again for my garage door needs. I'd recommend that you give Eric and Garage Door Experts a try.

The quotes were just for installing the storage racks that I had bought from AMZ. When I got in touch with Ricky, he was kind enough to visit my home and have an initial look at the space available. He then took time to discuss what he was thinking and how he planned to go about doing the work. He suggested that we use a sturdier option that he had installed at a number of other places. Since he was the expert, I decided to take his word and I am so glad that I did - Ricky did a fabulous job installing the frame and adding in the wood base. Thanks to him I now have a lot of space for holding my sports stuff + additional household items. All this at a much better price than what was being quoted to me earlier.
