They put tarps done in the areas they worked to protect our floors. Our house is nearly forty years old. They inspected the framing structure and confirmed it was solid and no deterioration. They were thorough in their clean up, so much so, the only way we knew they had been there was we had new windows. We ended up referring to them as the "window fairies." We learned that the old windows were not even windows by today's standards, they were just huge panes of glass that gave no insulation. He measured the windows so quickly (like 2 minutes) that I wondered if the windows world 3 actually fit (they did!). The price was extremely reasonable; we had intended to get three estimates but my mom and I both lined Kris so much we decided to go with him right away. I chose a day for installation when Kris was going to be out of town on vacation so he let me decide if we wait to wait until he got back or if we wanted him to send his right hand man Daniel. We went with Daniel who showed up right on time on a cold morning. I thought removing the old badly cracked panes of glass would be very difficult. I was right but they got the old ones out quickly and the new ones in so fast and they finished about 30 minutes before their estimate. They only removed one window at a time and our house never got cold on a 33 degree day This was one of the best customer experiences for a project I have ever had. I noticed a post on Nextdoor asking for handyman recommendations. There were a bunch of replies,…read morebut only 5 that seemed to match my criteria. I did research online for those 5. There was only 1 that had what I was looking for in a handyman company. Included in my list of requirements was BBB registration, insurance to protect customers and very positive reviews on all the main sites (Angi, Yelp, Google, etc.). It was also important that the 'company' be more than one person and have experience in the projects that I was interested in doing. Only one of those companies checked all the boxes: Welter Home Services. I called them and spoke with Kevin about our current and future needs. We had 3 projects. I wanted to do one to be sure I was pleased with their work (I was) before starting the other two. Kevin explained what labor and materials we needed to complete the job. He provided a detailed estimate with all materials and labor stated. Our first project was the replacement of a kitchen pantry door - including the whole door frame, hardware and trim. This required removing the old door, frame and trim - and painting the new door, frame and trim. On the agreed upon date, a Welter HS employee showed up at our door exactly on time. He was very pleasant and helpful. He completed the project, checked his work and made some touchups where the appearance as not "perfect", then did a great job of cleaning up the area he had worked in. We are very pleased with Welter HS and the work they completed for us: on time and for the price they quoted. We are moving forward with the next two projects and are looking forward to getting them completed with the same quality and professionalism that they applied to this first project.

I lost my key/keyfob. I called them up and told them I needed to get a new fob that I had…read moreprogrammed. They quoted me $175 and they sent someone over really quick. (I purchased the car with only 1 fob. I had already ordered 2 more but didn't get around to getting them programmed.) When the guy arrived I asked how much to program a second fob and he told me it would be $75 for each after the first. He programmed them and left. The next day I found out that only 1 was working. I called them back and asked if they could send someone out when they were in the area. I get a call back from a tech and he said he could head my way but we agreed on the next day. Nobody called back the next day. So, one more day later I call and I get the first guy I spoke to on the phone again. He tells me that they will not come out and it's probably my remote. Then he starts telling me that I didn't pay enough for the second fob anyway and that the guy shouldn't have done it for that price. He continued to refuse to do it and when I told him I would yelp this experience he responded "oh, you're one of those kind of customers" and he hung up on me. About 15 min later he calls up again and says he will refund my money for the second one but they wouldn't even try to help me. Now, I'm faced with going to a new place and having one key programmed for full price again. But, he insisted he would just send the tech out to give me my money back. The tech showed up and he did take care of the programming. Every time he got one working the other stopped. He was persistent and eventually successful. The guy at the door was fine. The guy on the phone, I believe may be the owner, needs to hire someone to be on the phone.

Started out good as they came out fast for a quote. Since the other companies I contacted either…read moredid not callback or said it would be 2 months just to come give a quote, they got the job. Did the work but I give them a B- for quality. Could not paint because it started snowing. Within a few weeks a board came loose, and it took several calls to get them to come back and fix it. Spring came and they never returned to paint. After several calls and discussions about what "Paint as needed" written on the contract means. Today they came back to paint. They only painted the boards they replaced not the whole thing. It looks poorly. If you use them make sure you have everything they are to do spelled out in the contract. I will not be using their services again.
