This place has great social media marketing. I was disappointed with my experience overall. The chicharrones were really dry and overcooked. One piece was ok. The rest were unedible. Way too hard on the teeth and jaws. I had one Guatemalan Pork taco and my husband had two Tacos Al Pastor. That, plus 1/2 pound of Chicharrones, three drinks was $42 for lunch ($45 with tip) and we waited 35 mins food on a weekday. The green sauce was divine though. Sadly overrated. read more

This side of the road bus shells out some seriously authentic and delicious food! You might miss it if it wasn't for the bright colors on the bus and long line of regulars. Lots of delicious options on the menu to try. Limited outdoor seating, and sometimes a little wait, but well worth it! We had to try the chicharron which was crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth on the inside. Wrapped up in a delicious pupusa with some hot sauce and guac... yum! Definitely a must get. We also did the Guatemalan hot dog with carne asada (shuco). Filled with all sorts of meat and topped with delicious condiments, it was a taste sensation! I hate writing bad reviews and I never do but this food truck has to do better getting people food out faster! I was heading back home to deer park from Mount Sinai and placed my order leaving my in-laws for a pick up order or just 3 arepas. Placed the order and drove to Brentwood since it's right by Deer park. Got here and food wasn't even ready. I was told I had a wait an additional half an hour which I was very disappointed smh. The drive alone from amount Sinai here was already over 20 minutes and I was told I had to wait an additional 30! They gave me a timer that finally went off after waiting 20 plus minutes to walk up to the food truck and order was still not ready smh! I only ordered 3 arepas and at this point was so over it. I had a leave and contact for dash and dispute the charge which was a also a nightmare. Since I was canceling after almost an house door dash didn't even want a refund me and I had to wait for a call back from the high up's! After a few day they got back to me and issue me a credit but I would never come back to this food truck. This is the second time and after the first I should have known better but they do have amazing food but just need to do better on expediting food. They have plenty of people working on this food truck so I don't why the food is still taking forever but you guys got a do better. If you read reviews online it seems like a lot of people are having this issue and you need to fix it asap otherwise your going to loose a lot of business! Wish you well but do better! read more

I ordered the birria tacos, a set of 4 tacos half chicken and half steak, and the half pound of chicharron. The advertisement on Instagram is a little misleading when it comes to the chicharron. I recommend ordering the 1 pound as the half pound is realistically only around 5 pieces. The chicharron and the steak tacos were the best thing I tried. I really enjoyed how juicy the steak was and the crunch on the chicharron. I would want to explore the menu some more and try other options they have. During my visit the music was blasting extremely loud, so it was hard to hear the person taking our orders and the parking lot have random potholes so be slow and careful when driving through it. read more

I was so surprised and sadly not in a good way. I was so excited to go to Garcia's after seeing it numerous times as well as their page popping up on my Instagram. I finally stopped and ordered. They always seem to have plenty of customers but appreciated the workers who were kind and took my order efficiently. It was cold when I ordered (middle of February) but the ambiance was great. You can just tell in the summer it would be amazing to hang out in their sitting area. However, I was a little upset at the food itself. Very underwhelming. I was expecting a bit more flavor as more consume with the Birria tacos These tacos were also very pricy as well. First time here ! Located in the middle of nowhere for me but it didn't disappoint . The food is made to order and comes out hot and fresh. Authentic Guatemalan cuisine . Unique concept ! It's a decorated truck on the side of the road . There was a wait to order and the food took like 20-30 minutes to come out . There is an option to sit outside on some metal chairs but you're sitting on the side of the road basically . Hands down the best pupusa's I've ever had. The tacos were cooked to perfection. Was really looking forward to trying this Taco bus, but we won't be back. They were unorganized, got our orders wrong & we were actually missing chicharrón orders as well. The girl taking the order had a weird attitude and really made the ordering experience distasteful. I did go back and mention it to the gentleman there, he apologized and gave us the orders we were missing... as I turned around I then tripped over the cable that they had laying across the ground. It wasnt staked down, it was dark and I def didn't see it... Now the food- the chicharrones were stale. Suchhhhh a huge disappointment since thats one of the main things we wanted to try. They recently decorated for the holidays with lights and always have music playing so the atmosphere is always fun and energetic. Their chicharon's are by far one of the best. Insanely overpriced. Waited roughly about an hour for our food. We ordered the carne asada platter, garnachas (4 ct) and a 1/2 lb order of chicharron (4 ct) . First impression with the meat platter: meat was tough, pasta bland. Although I will say, the refried beans and white rice were quite delicious. Moving onto the garnachas, the fried corn tortillas tasted more like oil than corn itself. Shredded beef on top lacked flavor as well, didn't really taste like anything. Lastly, the chicharron (part I was looking forward to the most) was rock hard. I couldn't even eat it. There was only one piece that passed the test. As far as customer service goes, I'd say it could be better. I noticed there was another customer who was there before us, who kept complaining about his 1+ hour wait. When his food was ready, he took it and went back to his car only to come back and complain about a missing item. Instead of apologizing and taking accountability, the woman who was in charge of packing the orders up simply said "here you go." I don't know about y'all but judging by his face, I could tell they had just lost a customer. The service was not good. There was 1 couple in front of me when I placed my order and I waited for 1.5 hour. The food was inconsistent. The taco and enchilada was good, the carne asada was chewy and the pupusas were the worst I have ever had and after 1.5 hour they forget to give me the curtido and sauce. Can we all say in unison.... Yum! The food here is really good. I found out about Garcia's through social media. I have to say, I wasn't sure about it because food trucks can be hit or miss. But it was an excuse for us to hop on our motorcycles and go grab lunch. We got there just before 1 and there were about 20 people standing on the line. No one in NY waits behind 20 plus people for anything unless the product or items is a must have. My wife and I shared the 4 tacos and a 1/2 pound of the chicharron. Some of the most delicious chicharron I've ever had. You could seriously just order a pound or two of if and go home and make some sides for you and the family. The initial crunch of the skin followed by the juicy pork on the inside was so good. The truck is cool. Has the whole South American vibe with the lighting and colors. Almost cliche, but I get it. About as good as it gets! An authentic taco restaurant on wheels, and not just a run of the mill food truck, its a converted school bus on steroids! They have a military refrigeration trailer and a giant tow behind grill set up. The food is fantastic, They have a cult like local following and over 4000 instsgram followers! On my home from Costco there was this shiny red and silver bus with a line of people, I was exhausted so I headed home wondering.... What was on that shiny pretty bus. 7-7-2023 Soooo next Costco trip I said if I see the bus I'll stop. I saw it, so I had to stop and see what it was about. My my my! What have we here? Menu is in Spanish & English. Guatamalan Mexican mashup. Shuco? What's that?! Did I read that right? A Hot Dog with Avocado, Cabbage, Bacon, Ketchup, Mustard & Mayo?! Wait! I can also add steak?! Yeah gimme dat please! It's not my culture so maybe this is the norm. But for me my tastebuds exploded with flavor! And I eat ere'thang! This was a combo I was not familiar with but fell in love immediately. I didn't drive home. Lets start with I'm from guatemala. I will say their food's taste is oretty good but i ordered a shuco two different occasions and both times no guac on the shuco. Second time i made sure to tell them to please make sure it had guac and i was guaranteed they had available and it would be in the shuco. It was not. Food taste great! Quality control making sure you are giving what you are selling needs to be improved. Wait time with no crowd was far too long for me having pre ordered 20 mins ahead and still waited an additonal 10 while there when i was told 15 mins it would be ready over the phone. This was my first time going to Garcia's after I saw The Grub Father make an instagram post about them. Unfortunately I was underwhelmed. I was most excited for the Chicharrones and while they were crispy they were too hard and the meat was wayyy too dried out. I'm talking bone dry. Fortunately the tacos and the pupusas there were great and probably the best part of the meal. The staff was super friendly and the service wasn't too long of wait getting the food. I had been wanting to go to this "Bus" for the longest, when I was finally able to do so, I went on a Friday just before noon.....there were approx 5 people waiting for their orders, when we were reading the menu the cashier hurriedly approach the window and yelled to wait and read the menu because she was not ready, which is fine, after maybe 10 mins she finally came back and asked for the orders. We ordered 3 things, but I definitely believe they are overpriced. This is the price I pay for things at a restaurant, with an enclosed sit down area with a waiter. Ask for your receipt! Because they will not offer to give it to you. After a 25 minute wait, we finally got buzzed, and food was handed without a thank you or even a smile from these ladies. Again, I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, saying they were "busy" and they were probably only employees and not the owners because they had not a drop of customer service in them. I was secretly praying this food was at least ok in flavor, for the price paid and part of it was.
