Food not bad but does not stay around long if you know what I mean. The service. Is horrible even when you are the only diners there. There doesn't really seem to be a good Chinese place around Broomall that we know of, Yang Ming in Bryn Mawr is worth the trip. read more

The service is absolutely horrible! They have children waiting on tables who have no manners and who act like we are bothering them when we enter the restaurant. We are typically the only table in the restaurant and we have NEVER seen an adult come out to check on the front of the restaurant. The food is okay, however the frustration of dealing with terrible service is not worth the trip. We have gone to this restaurant on several occasions and the children are unable to say thank you or you're welcome (very basic phrases in any business) under any circumstances. There are many other Chinese restaurants in the area - Dragon Garden is right up the street and their food and service is outstanding! Please do not waste your time and patience by going to this poorly managed restaurant. These children should not be taking orders and dealing with customers. read more

One of the most satisfying Chinese restaurants I've eaten in. OK, I haven't sampled a lot of the dishes on their extensive menu, but the Hunan Chicken, Hunan Beef, spring rolls, and hot&sour soup are excellent, with fresh vegetables, good quality meat, and expert cooking.The tea, which is free, is always tasty,and so are the freebie fried noodles, always fresh, crunchy and not greasy. Not much ambience, but it's clean and pleasant. The young teen waitresses may not be skilled at stroking egos, but they get your order right and deliver it quickly. Menu prices are inexpensive in most cases, and the lunch specials served daily, even weekends, are bargains. If you need an upscale ambience try Margaret Kuo or Yangming, otherwise this is a gem in plain clothing. read more

Go there all the time. Always pick up. Good food. Sometimes they forget when I ask for extra sweet and sour sauce. No big deal. Today they forgot my extra sweet and sour sauce, only 1 white rice box with the large sweet and sour chicken and somehow gave me a large beef fried rice instead of a large beef and broccoli. I know "broccoli" and "fried rice" sound so much the same. Not happy upon discovering this when I arrived home. Took me 5 min to get them to answer the phone to explain their mistake. Drove all the way back to get my correct order. I explained that I'm a regular, always order alot of food and that I should get a partial refund for this inconvenience. The 2 middle school girls at the register told me I could keep the beef and rice. I don't want the beef and rice. They said "oh - we charged you for the fried rice which is cheaper than the beef and broccoli." That was the extent of how sorry they were for screwing up my order. Disgraceful customer service. I told the Paxon Hollow middle school girls that I will order from the Chinese place in Newtown Square from now on. Garden China - you lost a good regular customer that ordered 35-45 dollars worth of food there almost weekly because of how you treated this customer when you made a pretty big order error. The service was horrible. I asked multiple times for extra hot mustard and they proceed to tell me that it was in the bag. I got home and there was the tiniest thing of mustard ever. They burnt my food and i ordered spring rolls, they looked like they were bought from the food store. I spent $50 for nothing. i will not be returning to Garden China again. read more

Went in and ordered a late dinner for take out, all they did was complain that they were closing in 1/2 hour. If you want to close early then please change your hours. They took our order but didn't put all of the sauces in the bag and didn't put the lid on the soup. Which means when we finally got home from a long day the food was soaked and boring. Will never go there again. There are plenty of restaurants in the area that are happy to provide service during their working hours. read more

Terrible service!!! The worst service of ANY restaurant! They have children take your order and they are rude children. As an example, one of the kids brought appetizers to the table and a crab ragoon fell to the floor as she put the plate down on our table. She KICKED IT UNDER THE TABLE, put down the plate, and walked away. Did not bring another crab ragoon to replace the one on the floor that we had to avoid stepping on when we stood up. The children never come over to ask if everything is okay. This is a horrible place and I hope that someday, child labor laws will prevent the children from interacting with customers because, unfortunately, the food is good. But I cannot get past the terrible service from children who are too young and inexperienced to be the only people running the front of the restaurant. Please, adult owners, step out of the kitchen to observe the front of the house so that you can understand the damage your children are doing to the restaurants reputation. read more
