I credit a friend for re-introducing me to this venue and for pointing out what's good on the menu, especially since I never found a reason to come back after visiting many years ago. I'm not vegetarian, but the BLT was so flavorful I couldn't tell it was meatless! Excellent with the avocados. 5 stars for this alone for which I'll be returning. This was a place that surprised me by its goodness. Perhaps it's because I'd heard mixed reviews from friends. Some said it was great; others said it was over-hyped and of varying quality. My first (and only, so far) experience was positive, and I'd like to go back and see if I can validate their consistency. But I'm a fan. First of all, the interior decorating is really cute. It reminds me of Starry Night. You will find that some of the seats are verrry close to your neighbors, but if you've got friendly neighbors, you can make acquaintances with them (I got great recommendations from the folks sitting next to us who were regulars!) Now, about the food... Get the Korean tacos--the sauce will change your life. The butternut squash quesadillas are also da' bomb, with a flaky, crispy crust. I enjoyed the gluten free vegan mac and cheese, but one must take into account that ALL of the normal ingredients have been replaced, so...it's not the best mac and cheese I've ever had, but it didn't taste like cardboard, and that is a success. Cute little place located where Hope Street ends and East Ave begins in a plaza with a variety of other restaurants and a vegan bakery! Came on Saturday around 1pm and even though the place was a bit full there was still a few tables open, so no wait! We ordered the Korean tacos which were soooo good, when I go back I might just order this as my entree. I got the tofu fajitas and my girlfriend got the BLT. I enjoyed my dish but for some reason I was expecting crispy tofu not silky. My friend enjoyed hers also. Service was very friendly and prompt. I also ordered the berry crimson iced tea - a little bland for my taste. It tasted like water with a splash of cranberry. The Korean Tacos were the best tacos I've ever had (incl. Southern California & Texas's tacos). The Mushroom Bean Burger was one of the best burgers I've ever had. The bun was rich and had a great crispy texture, and the accoutrements were fresh, full of flavor; I felt like Guy Fieri mayoring the plate of Flavortown. We were seated right away on a Tuesday evening. Portions are fairly big. We probably shouldn't have ordered any appetizers. We took food home with us. The Reuben is really really good. Cauliflower tacos are really really good. You just have to keep going and work your way through the whole menu. There is no meat in this establishment. Many items are vegan or gluten free. There is something for everyone. The service is friendly and efficient. The whole atmosphere is pleasant and I love the fact and the restaurant is always filled with a diverse crowd. read more

I've never eaten tofu besides at this restaurant and I still can't figure out how they make it taste like bacon/heaven in my mouth. If you think that this restaurant is not for you because you aren't vegetarian/vegan I'd think again. There are many things on the menu that aren't fully vegan/vegetarian. On my last visit I also got a yummy butternut squash quesadilla with pepper jack cheese. There's also an extensive drink menu (not all vegan choices) that are great with your meal. There's a little bar where you can sit to eat or if you just want some drinks. The place is small and cozy and has a cool and comfortable atmosphere. I love the decor of this place. It took me halfway through my meal to realize over the bar it was a tree. I love the way everything looks inside. We had good service until it was time to pay the bill, it took a crazy amount of time for the waiter to come back and pick up the check to pay. As for the food, i really like the mac and cheese. The first time i had experienced it was with the brussel sprout mac and cheese which i loved, the broccoli was so so. I was also disappointed by the fact you pay $13 and get a portion of mac and cheese the size of my fist. I get that its a "small portion" but it shouldn't cost so much... We had the cauliflower risotto cakes which were okay. They really lacked flavor, it was quite bland. I had really high hopes for them too. Before tonight had you asked me if a vegetarian tofu BLT could taste as good as a meat one, I would have rolled my eyes and laughed. Well, I laugh no more because I was totally blown away with the one I had here tonight. Many reviewers have written how much they liked the BLT (with avocado) but until I tried it, I admit I was more than a bit skeptical. I was with my mom, so we split the sandwich and ordered a white veggie pizza that was a special. It was also delicious. I did have to ask for a knife to re-cut the slices but like the BLT (and salad that accompanied it), the crust, body and toppings on the pizza were all fresh and flavorful. I was also impressed that they serve their water with lemon wedges because if you have shopped for lemons lately, you know they ain't cheap! The restaurant is very nicely laid out with comfortable seating (both inside and outside) and the servers were all friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Prices are not cheap but you are paying for...and receiving...top quality in all areas of your dining experience! I've been coming here 25 years and have seen a steady improvement in the quality of the food. Earlier, the food was bland & among my friends was appreciated just for *being* vegetarian but not because it was great. However, at this point, this restaurant is quite excellent & tonight was the best ever: Eggplant Parmesan and Pad Thai were both out of this world. We started off with Korean tacos as an appetizer. I pretty much always get those here and they're just getting better each time. I'm sort of over the moon impressed and satisfied tonight. I love this place! It has been around for years and never disappoints. Of course I have my favorite dishes! I almost always get the vegan Rueben sandwich and trout vegan Mac and cheese. The sandwich had the perfect amount of tang. They even make their own thousand island dressing. The Mac and cheese is filled with mushrooms and broccoli for a healthier twist. They pair perfectly together. The seating stress doesn't hold many people. So, on the weekends there is Usually a wait for dinner. They do give you an electronic buzzer so you can visit their bakery a couple doors down while wait. I've never gotten bad service there below, but they did put dairy cheese on our vegan sandwich once. So be sure to check your meal before diving in. Most items on tues menu if not all can be made vegan. They don't serve any meat products there but they serve dairy. read more

Completely Blown Away. This place was absolutelu delicious. I am not going to lie, when I first glanced at the menu I literally struggled as I am a huge meat and potato eater (I'm French Canadian.) We started with a Mai Tai and OMG it was absolutely perfect. I felt like I had been transported to a tropical paradise somewhere... I studied the menu and honestly had no idea what to do. The butternut squash quesadilla came highly reccomended and it seemed like the safest thing to eat, so I ordered that while my dinner date ordered the ruben sandwich. The quesadilla did not dissapoint. It was full of flavor and hearty! I really enjoyed it. From the butternut squash chunks to the black beans it was stuffed full with delicious bites. My dinner date gave me a piece of her "pastrami" sandwich and It honestly BLEW ME AWAY. How is that not real pastrami? It is legit like the best pastrami sandwich I have ever had. So so good. Thank goodness for hockey road trips. This is our 2nd time stopping in to this incredibly phenomenal vegan restaurant. The 1st time we came, we got the nachos and my goodness did they not disappoint! We had them alter it to be vegan, and everything was so delicious that it just melted in your mouth. I'm pretty sure we licked the plate clean. Mouth watering flavors kept us going back for more and we ordered on our next visit as well. The Tofu BLT was simply amazing. My daughter got the burrito and it was so good, I ended up eating it for leftovers. On our second visit we tried the butter nut squash quesadillas.... Oooh.... my.... gosh. Get this. When we arrived Jill sat us at one of the small tables in the front of the restaurant. There was no greeting, no welcoming, we felt as if we were bothering her by wanting to have dinner at the restaurant she works at. The attitude was instant and completely unjustified. Then we noticed the table in the corner near the bar was open and would give us more privacy and space so we asked Jill if we could sit there, with a very unnecessary attitude Jill said "No that's for 3 people!". We then noticed the table across from it (also able to accommodate 3) had 2 people sitting at it and they were about to pay. Which means there were about to be 4 tables available to accommodate 3 or more people plus 3 more 2 tops. We pointed this out to Jill and also explained that we have many times in the past as a party of 2 been welcome to sit in the corner table we had asked for. Again the restaurant was not full and we wouldn't be taking the last available 3 top, if the restaurant were close to full we would't have even asked. We were put off by this but the bigger problem was Jill's poor attitude and rude communication. If this is new restaurant policy, Jill could have explained so with kindness and respect. Instead Jill treated us with the level of respect you would give to someone who you hate and have no desire to treat decently. Jill's lack of professionalism was massively disappointing. As a business owner myself I would never treat a patron that way, even if they were wrong and rude to me (we we're not at all rude to Jill) and I would want to know if one of my employees had treated a patron this poorly. Of course, you know your staff is the face of your business and that day your business had resting bitch face. No matter how delicious your food is it's not worth being served by a person with a bad attitude. Unfortunately we left Garden Grille that night before ordering and don't plan on returning any time soon. I have been dining at your restaurant(s) since I moved to RI in 2007. I have brought many friends and family to dine there and have left excellent reviews. I understand that humans have bad days and maybe we just caught Jill in a bad moment, but if she's going to be working directly with the public she needs to learn to control her emotions and remain professional at all times. In the future IF we choose to visit Garden Grille again, we will be calling ahead and if Jill is working we will bring our business to Plant City as we did that evening. Updating to say we still love Garden Grille, even during Covid! We are impressed with how seriously they are taking the health and safety of the community. We have done pick-up with them a few times. Ordering online is easy (and I love that they ask whether you want utensils etc. to save the plastic for those who are just taking it home!). They give you an estimated time for pick-up and it is almost always accurate. When you arrive someone comes outside and you give them your name. They then get the food and place it on a little table outside for you to take. Everyone stays spaced, masked, and outside (well, the customers are outside).
