Lunch at the garden table was delightful! I went for the liberty bowl, which is pick two sides and a source of protein. I went with the Soba Noodle salad, fries, and brisket. The soba noodle salad was refreshing, with a nice crunchy bits for texture. I don't know what was on the fries but whatever it was has a kiss of sweetness and pepper. The brisket, though not at tender as I would normally like it, was well seasoned and had an extra kick from the chimichurri sauce on it. I ate good today! Also, my server was very accommodating and made it easy for me to choose and order by explaining the menu and her favorite bites. I was able to enjoy house made lemonade that she put in a to-go cup for me, since they are straw less. There's easy access right off the Monon trail and it's dog friendly. Our waiter's 4 yr experience at the restaurant helped me to perfectly navigate the cold-pressed juice menu (and the order in which to drink them based on flavor & texture preferences), and I was able to order a flight of mini juices for the crew to try. Note: if you like cashew milk you'll want to try the sky-blue/green Cashew Concoction, which is a mildly sweet blend of raw cashews, coconut water, maple syrup and spirulina! After salivating over the menu for a week, I stopped in her for brunch. It's a cozy little fast-casual brunch spot that focuses on using locally sourced items. I tried a juice flight and fell in love with the Amped Almond juice. I didn't love the emerald, but the cashew concoction and the garden gate were also really delicious. My friend ordered one of their special lattes that should be named maple AMAZINGNESS because that's exactly what it was. She ordered the crepes, which she loved and I ordered the pork shoulder benedict. I absolutely loved this dish, aside from the biscuit, which seemed like a hard, stale leftover biscuit. Being that it's fast casual, no one is really checking on you, but you're paying the price of a full service meal. This is not only one of my favorite spots in BroadRipple but i think one of the best breakfast joints in Indy! So to start off parking in BR is always tricky so look for a street spot or there is a small parking lot behind the building that you can park in. The interior of Garden Table is warm and inviting. There are small tables, 2 large tables for big groups or just communal seating and then bar seating at the windows. The specials are on the chalk board to the right when you walk in. I recommend taking a look at them! I've had the Basic B, Acai Bowl and Garden Toast. They are out of this world!! I have tried the juices once, I'm not a huge fan of juices but they were pretty darn tasty! I highly recommend this to everyone to try out as soon as you can! read more

At the suggestion of Yelp Indy Community Manager Britt S, we started our day today at The Garden Table. I opted for the Acai Bowl, which contains acai (obviously), bananas, almond milk, berries, granola and almonds, according to the menu board. The cashier gave me the option of a winter granola or their sweet, honey granola. I opted for the latter. And what I got was perhaps the most colorful breakfast I've ever enjoyed. It made the cold, overcast morning immediately cheerful and bright. The bowl reminded me of milk and cereal, but instead of cereal I had yellow granola, almonds and plump berries. And for milk, I had the purple acai/almond milk mixture. I was given a fork to eat it with, but a spoon might have worked better. I liked how naturally sweet it was and the mixture of textures. Sometimes granola can be bland and needlessly hard to chew -- this was not that. And then I had to try a juice flight. The Garden Tables allows guests to choose four of their handmade juices for a flight, which comes in miniature milk bottles on a wooden board. The Garden Tables was sold out of a few of their juices, so I chose the Garden Gate (beet, carrot, apple, celery, lemon, turmeric, ginger and black pepper), Detox Dream (lemon, maple, ginger, activated charcoal and cayenne), Neon Nectar (cantaloupe, carrot, lime, ginger and mint) and Lush Love (watermelon, ruby red grapefruit, coconut water, lime and basil). I am a juice fledgling. Though I am eager to explore this new foodie trend, I admit that most of my juice experience has been limited to the orange-pineapple-banana juice that you can get in the grocery store. So while I thought I would enjoy the more fruit-y juices more, my favorites were actually the Garden Gate and Detox Dream. Who knew that activated charcoal could be so good?!?! In all seriousness, the Detox Dream had a bit of a fizzy bite to it, which was nice when mixed with the sweetness of the lemon and maple. And while I had forgotten that I had ordered the beet juice -- and originally thought it was another berry concoction -- the Garden Gate was as you'd imagine: earthy and fresh. I also enjoyed the modern/industrial/farmhouse chic furnishings. From the crowd of eager diners -- which included many of the "ladies who brunch" crowd -- it's easy to see this is a popular spot. LOVE! First things first...if you never have had The Garden Table before, try the Broad Ripple location before the Mass Ave location! It was a little out of the way for me, but I had a MUCH better experience! My favorite thing out of everything we got (besides the fact that everything was delicious) was definitely the pork shoulder Benedict! We went early on a Sunday morning and found a seat no problem. By the time we left (11:00) it was full. So get there early and you won't have a problem finding a seat. The service was exceptional (just an FYI you pay up front and are expected to tip before your meal) but you won't be disappointed. All of the employees were very attentive. Meh. Went on a Sunday for brunch. Service was not friendly and super slow. Two tables seated well after us received their food before us...we were a group of three. Breakfast burrito was dry and lukewarm. My daughter's veggie sandwich on focaccia was heavily coated in olive oil that left a very greasy sandwich that tasted more like oil than anything else. The açaí bowl was the best item we ordered although the pineapple chunks were hard and flavorless. $60 for a disappointing breakfast. To top it off the place is very small and extremely loud. We decided to try the Garden Table downtown for Sunday brunch. We have been to the one in in Broad Ripple but had heard great things about the one downtown. I'm glad we went! The decor is very inviting & loved the big windows up front. We were sat at a table by the window which we were hoping for. We both ordered Toasts, He got the Avocado toast & I ordered the Greek Chicken toast made GF with Native Bread option and then we split orders of potatoes and fruit. Everything was delicious from the food, cofffess and the mimosas. service was great too even though they were short staffed, it didn't seem like it. as a side note-- I'm so happy to see that they are now using a local company for their GF options. I love Native Bread and is one of very few breads around that I can eat so we will definitely be going back! read more

I don't get to Broadripple as often as I would like to, so when a friend asks if I want to grab brunch in Broadripple at a new place, I jump on it. Garden Table hasn't been open long, but it already has the feel of a well-established place where people stop in on a regular basis. The staff work with ease with one another and interact great with the customers, offering great advice when asked. So many places take months to work out the bugs of a new restaurant, but not here. Garden Table already runs like a well-oiled machine. Looking at the menu online before visiting, I left the house knowing there were about 15 things on the menu that sounded wonderful, and I would only be able to make my mind up by physically being there.. seeing what everyone else was eating, and then asking for help. Take it from me... the online menu is a great way to learn about some of the offerings, but it can't replace being able to look around and see what everyone else is eating. I arrived a few minutes before others in our party, so I decided to try a juice flight as my appetizer. For $10 you can pick 4 different fresh pressed juices to sample. By sample.. I mean a 6oz pour, so it's definitely worth the $$. One of the choices I selected was almost gone and they couldn't do a full pour of it, so I chose something else instead. When my flight came out, I had my 4 full pours plus a side of the one I had originally ordered. I thought this was a really nice gesture. Juices were delicious. Maple Syrup was used in several of them as a sweetener. I've also heard a lot about the health benefits of turmeric and black peppercorn lately, and many of the juices included both of these. Definitely a great way to begin your day. Once my friends arrived, we ordered brunch. I had noticed the chorizo hash on the menu and was torn between it and the Eggs Benedict. After a quick consult with the cashier, I settled on the hash because it contained chorizo and the Eggs Benedict contained no meat. The hash included sweet potatoes and Brussel Sprouts in a soupy kind of broth that was delicious. As a side note: a friend got the Eggs Benedict and I secretly had food envy when I saw the avocado smashed toast that came out on her plate and the beautiful pesto hollaindse sauce on top of the poached eggs. Yes sir.. this is what I'll be getting the next time I come here. Garden Table has a list of locally sourced vendors on their website where they get most of their ingredients. Like a good local business, they try and buy locally any chance they get, and they also sell many local products in their goods area. I'm glad i gave this place a try for brunch after an utterly disappointing dinner experience at the location downtown. When i first walked in, i felt a warm vibe and instantly loved the decor. Whoever designed or decorated both restaurants, i want to steal and have them design my kitchen and dining room for when i get a home! The food was fresh and the menu descriptions sounded so good. I knew it would be pricey at $13 a bowl (yup, that much $$) but what I didn't realize is how BIG the bowl is. Donald Trump would say it's HUUUUGE (sorry, I had to). You get a deep bowl filled with chilled acai, fresh fruit (pears, blueberries this round), housemade granola, and Revival almond butter. And mint! That added a freshness I wasn't expecting. It is served with either greens or fruit. I always opt for the fruit which is always fresh. I have also tried the avocado toast and breakfast burrito. Both are yummy, as well. My friends and I ordered one right after the other and at the time we were one of the few people in the restaurant. A. My friends got and finished their food before I ever got mine. We were looking for a new brunch spot and decided to give this place a go! We went on a Sunday for brunch, and of course we expected a crowd. However, the inside was very crowded and I think the system they have could be tweaked a bit for faster service. If you plan to sit down then you are given a table and then you have to get up to place your order at the counter. However, several tables for guests are next to where you would stand in line. Guests eating begin to feel uncomfortable because you're standing over top of them as they eat and you stand in line. However, once you order the food it does come out rather quickly. The portions are not that large, so if you're looking for something filling this may not be the place. However, the quality is an A+ in my opinion. I was getting really disappointed with the downtown location, but heard that the Broad Ripple one had some different menu items and was better overall. And yes, this is true! The first major difference is that everyone orders at the counter, grabs their own utensils, water, etc. My friend and I split the garden benedict and the French toast. The benedict was my usual go-to at the downtown location, but this one was made with different bread, had cherry tomatoes, and had a basil hollandaise. The French toast was made with banana bread. Visited here again last Friday for a solo breakfast date (plus baby). I came in with the mindset that I'd get a quinoa bowl or a polenta bowl. Cue the specials board. I was immediately drawn to the chicken sausage biscuit and the Mexican mocha. Neither option disappointed. The Mexican mocha was smooth and rich which just a hint of cayenne to make it interesting. I was very excited to try this place after reading the reviews and seeing the photos. I was most intrigued by the juice flight and was slightly overwhelmed by the choices. We ended up getting mostly green juices by accident. We liked the Cashew Concoction the best, because of the creamy taste, reminds me of almond milk. The Garden Gate has a strong beet taste, and unfortunately we are not the biggest fan of beets. We thought the Tropic Tonic would have a stronger pineapple taste, but it turned out pretty much all green because of kale and spinach, wasn't a fan of that either. And we liked the Emerald Elixir the least, I hate to admit, but it tasted like grass to me. I'm by no means offending anyone, I just don't have an acquired juice taste bud. On to the food, I got one of their specials, the Farm House Crepe, which is stuffed with scrambled eggs, cheese, and sausage paired with blueberry preserves. The crepe was soft and fluffy but the blueberry preserve was definitely the highlight. Husband got the Andouille Sausage Hash, which came out looking kind of small. I smiled at it because the trend has been my plate always comes out bigger than his. He enjoyed the flavor and thought it was a good choice. We didn't feel overstuffed from our meal, but it definitely filled our bellies. Service is half self-serve because you order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. Coffee is self-serve to the side. There was definitely a very steady stream of customers on a Saturday, which is always a good sign. The place is cozy with plenty of sunshine.
