The main seam down the middle was done very bad in which i believe he noticed right away so his crew re did it. When they re did it, they left nail heads an inch above ground. This caused my son and I to keep stepping on them. He came back to hammer them in but now the seam showed terribly again. This led me to believe the high nail heads were intentional to fluff the turf to correct the mistake. Now the seam is very visible and they have stated they can't do anything to fix it. The second issue I noticed was the scratches in the sidewalk his crew left. My driveway cement already isn't the nicest so it doesn't matter to me too much, but this could be a bigger issue to someone who has a nicer driveway. There are some issues with the old brick they expanded from and attached the turf too. Now needs to be re grouted/re bricked. Although Ignacio was very kind, I would have paid a bit more in hindsight to have a nicer job done. I've attached pictures of the main seam.

His service used to be good, but not anymore. We established in the beginning what needed to be done and the price...but those basics are not getting done anymore. After almost 2 years EVERYTHING IS severely lacking. He only mows the lawn and we have to beg and plead to trim bushes etc......for what we're paying it's just not worth it. He likes to remind me that he only charged me for part in a sprinkler system. I would have gladly paid him labor but he said it was a ' favor' . If I thought it wasn't going to be done properly, I would have preferred to pay. When my family came to visit, the yard was NOTICEABLY poorly cared for. I WAS EMBARRASSED!!! After searching high and low for reliable landscapers who also had a design sense and would bother to call back over a small project, we went with Alan. As a designer myself, it was very important we went with someone who would pay attention to the details and bring new ideas to the table. Alan does that and more. He makes you as much a part of the process as you want to be. With our project probably being on the smaller side of his average budgets, we never once felt like we weren't the #1 clients. He took all the time to ensure we were in love with every aspect of our yard. We loved everything he did and feel it has added immense value to our small home, not to mention the insane compliments we get over it. I will have Alan work on every home I ever live in......hes seriously the best and makes an entire space one you never want to leave. My cat is addicted to his new space.

But consistently, Alan gets great review. MY experience was awesome. I reached out to Alan about 1 1/2 years ago. Told him I would like a quote. He came out..talked me through everything, surveyed the yard and came back with a quote quickly. I then ran into a financial situation and couldn't do the job. Alan waited 3-4 months and called me to check on me. No pressure...just seeing how I was doing. Eventually, my finances cleared and I was ready. Alan gave me a computer design and it looked awesome. We agreed on a start date and away wen went. Alan and his guys started the job on time. Alan always kept me in the loop and I never felt like he was ignoring me. The same guys showed up every day (consistency) and Alan was very involved. Alan fixed a BUNCH of stuff in my front yard that was not even in my contract. And DIDN'T charge me for it. He replaced a few plants that didn't make it when planted...for free. He revamped my irrigation system at a reduced price. Yes...I spent over $30K on the job...but he didn't nickel and dime me and really treated me well. But here is the most important thing..Alan listens. He is NICE. He is patient. He is responsive. He is calm. My dog escaped one day and Alan IMMEDIATELY called me and we found our dog. He didn't have to do that. I am currently going through a hard time with another contractor and I called Alan up and asked him for advice. He ALWAYS answers...or calls back....or texts. In this world of shady contractors and HORRIBLE landscapers (here's looking at you SGV), Alan is awesome. Trust him with your job. You will not regret it. Oh...and my re-design is beautiful. Just like the computer design. And I have more work on the way with Alan. Fire pit...outdoor kitchen. And no one else will be doing it except Alan. And I know he'll be there when I am ready.
