I was on the hunt for some treats to bring to work for my colleagues and stumbled upon Gardener Bob--what a gem! From the moment I walked in, I was overwhelmed (in the best way possible) by all the delicious options. There were cookies, scones, pies--you name it! The owner was incredibly friendly and answered all my questions with a smile, which made the whole experience even better. He even let my kids sample a few of his pies (which they loved!). After much deliberation, I decided to go with scones for my coworkers. I was able to get four boxes of five scones each for just $40, which felt like a steal. He handed me fresh, warm scones straight from the oven and even provided bags for me to pack them up in. When I brought them into work, my colleagues were absolutely thrilled! The scones were a hit, and I couldn't help but rave about all the other tasty treats at Gardener Bob. I made sure to recommend the store to everyone so they can stop by and check out all the amazing goodies themselves. Can't wait to visit again soon! Highly recommend!

Brandon is super helpful and very friendly and the third generation of family making delicious cakes, pies and sweet treats. Tried the butter and vanilla cakes, both were excellent although I believe vanilla was my favorite. The cakes are extremely light and have a soft mouth feel, I really enjoyed the consistency and prefer it over some of the very dense pound cake I've had in the past. The taste will conjure up childhood memories for anyone raised in the south. It is a convenient location near Kickback Jacks and Ghassan's. Once you try it, you'll know why they were featured recently in the O'Henry magazine. You need to give them a try!!

I only went to Cheesecakes by Alex because it was the meeting place selected by someone I was meeting with. I thought I would grab a tea, have the meeting, and then leave. However, nothing went as planned. Lol First, I am a "sucker" for eclectic vibes, which is the ambiance that the Elm St. location gives. The inside has a large mural on the wall, it has rustic flooring and furniture, and it is nothing like what I had pictured. I thought I would encounter a more "refined" place where everyone had their pinky in the air because of how everyone raved about Alex and his freaking cheesecake. Gracious! I completely understand now. I mean, I get it. Lol So after the meeting, this roughly drawn menu reeled me in because it had CHAI TEA. That's my jam. Once I had a sip of my delicious hot Chai tea with almond milk, I KNEW everything else was probably tasty, so I (in a reserved way) ordered an apple muffin. The muffin smelled divine, so I inquired (because I HAD to lol) about the best-selling cheesecakes. The cashier smiled at me and directed me to the Bourbon Pecan and the White Chocolate Raspberry flavored cheesecakes. They were $6 per slice, and I couldn't decide, so I had her pack both. I had a long day planned, so I had to take the slices home and refrigerate them. I almost forgot about them until around 10:30 when I had a sweet craving, and...have mercy! BOTH cheesecakes were velvety smooth, flavorful, and decadent. The Bourbon Pecan was heavenly. I could definitely taste its unique flavor pairings, and it had enough pecans. I also loved the buttery crust. The White Chocolate Raspberry was rich and creamy, with the tang of the raspberry exactly where and when you need it in every bite. I had to take bites out of each, you know, to treat them fairly. Lol Although I paid dearly for eating too much dairy, it was worth the experience. Sometimes, you just have to eat the lactose pill and jump in! I'm so glad I did. Now you know that Cheesecakes by Alex is Kiesha Speech approved. Hands down, they are bringing more than flavor. Cheesecakes by Alex is bringing the "flava!" I hear there are several locations in NC. I hope you can try one near you.

Just inside, the pastry case is centrally displayed under the main counter, stock full of an array of traditional French pastries, so long as you arrive before they are sold out. I ordered an americano, alongside the sausage roll, the chocolate almond croissant, and the oranais, a traditional apricot filled pastry. Each croissant was flaky, buttery, and flavorful, washed down by the americano, leaving nothing to be desired. To top it off, the pastries were enjoyed on a beautiful, sunny day among the patio seating within the alleyway.
