Came here with a bunch of girlfriends and it's great. I tried the burrata which was pretty good and the Kobe sliders which was so freaking good, and I'm not usually a burger person. I wanted to try the Baby back rib tacos but it's served with a peanut slaw, so I passed. We got a nice corner table and even though my sister was super late, she still got to have a full meal and to choose from the dessert platter which I think had 10 selections. I've never seen so many options for the desserts.

DESSERT FIRST! Okay, if we must adult. Our group had the Burrata appy (gone in 60 seconds good) - Lamb (good not great) - Ribeye (excellent) - Seafood Fettuccine (yummy) But dessert - I can't resist it when a tray full visits your table and they all say "eat me" - I don't even remember which we had because their sweet taste took over my brain! Service was top notch- we were very well taken care of! Ambiance is quiet and calming - not rushed or overwhelming - A+++ Gardner's should be an Olympia landmark for being consistently excellent - maybe not for the building (not fancy) the food and the excellent service - and they have easy parking!

Had dinner at this restaurant over the weekend and it was great. The ambience was nice, our waitress was amazing and knowledgeable and friendly. The drinks were delicious and filled to the brim, just how we like it. My only note was the menu online and in person should be consistent. Being gluten free, I like to look at restaurant menus prior to dining to get a sense of the options. The online menu didn't reflect all the dishes that were available and we almost didn't go because of that reason but I'm glad we did. Fantastic!

Awesome. I've known about this place and heard great things for at least 20 years, yet hadn't been until Saturday. Amazing. Cool close and intimate even though it's a small building and a little loud. Amazing food. Amazing service. Alex was great. She knew what we needed before we did. My wife and I had an appetizer, 2 salads and 2 entrees. It was too much. Wonderful food but I was full. We finished her scallops, saved 80% of my piccata and she had peanut butter cake. Love it. Thank you!

My husband and I came back here for dinner recently to commemorate our 5 year anniversary since this is where we had our first date. Definitely different than it was 5 years ago but that's to be expected. The restaurant itself is very romantic and has wonderful ambiance. We were even able to have our same table from our first date which made the evening that much more special. The servers were really sweet and made great suggestions for specials. The only reason for 3 stars is that the food wasn't on par with our first visit. We had the salmon seafood dip as an appetizer and that was probably the highlight of the meal. My husband ordered the top sirloin with squash risotto and although the steak was on point the risotto was not. I had the scallop entree with asparagus but the scallops were beyond salty and I could only eat 2. Had I left a review 5 years ago it would have been hands down 5 stars. My husband and I agreed that we would be willing to go back and maybe try different items on the menu, but it might be a while.

Hidden gem. If I could add 6 stars I would. This place is top tier, service was IMPECCABLE, Alex, our server, was wonderful. Absolutely so fresh, vibrant, and creative flavor profiles. We will be back very soon.

I never leave reviews. This place is worth running back to the hotel and writing a review. Go here. Stop thinking about it. Best meal I have had in years! Steak with truffle butter is next level. Carmel brownie for desert was the desert I didn't know I needed in my life. Do it. So so so beyond good.

I got loads of ground beef, ground pork, and steaks because I do so much meal prepping. We got it all frozen, probably spent well over $300. Everything in our entire order was rancid. Brown and smells absolutely god awful. I've waited many months to give them the benefit of the doubt and see if any of it was good. It was not. I even went to Stewart's meats out in Roy (where we normally buy big meat packages from) and did a test trial. Let them defrost in the fridge for a day or so. Northwest meats was brown and had a foul odor, Stewart's meats was juicy with blood and no odor at all. Conclusion made. They sold us rotten meat. Not cool for the food industry. Have some standards. That could have made someone really sick had they not known and eaten any of it.

My husband and I are used to meat markets nearby and we immediately noticed that this place smells so much better. They have a wide range of meats. We purchased two beautiful ribeye steaks, some goat meat and also some lamb meat. Definitely amazing. Quality meat and great prices! They have a little grocery section with various sodas and desserts which are incredible. Try this place out. You will not be disappointed!

It took them a few minutes to get going, but once they did, the service was really friendly and fast. Sean and I don't eat seafood or mushrooms, and they were actually really accommodating about it. They cooked our vegetables separately in the back so they wouldn't get mixed with the mushrooms, and kept the shrimp on the other side of the grill from our chicken so we didn't have to deal with the seafood flavors. I really appreciated that! My daughter got the fried rice and watching the chef make everything was so much fun. Our chef was really nice, entertaining and clearly knew what he was doing. We did tell them we didn't like shrimp, so they didn't do the whole throwing-shrimp-in-your-mouth thing with anyone at our table. I'll admit, that was a little disappointing because we watched them do it for other tables and it looked hilarious! I kind of wish they would've asked if we wanted the other people at our table to participate anyway. There was also a birthday celebration while we were there, and the staff came out with a cute little song and dance and a treat. The birthday girl looked so happy! Overall, we had a blast. The food was amazing, everyone was friendly, and it was just a really fun experience. We'll definitely be back, and next time I want to bring friends and do dinner. First hibachi experience = SUCCESS!

She was pleasant and sat us in the sunshine on the patio. I was sad to see so few patrons. I will review the best part first: THE COCKTAILS: The spirits and craft cocktail selection was huge / the beer & wine not so much. My Old Fashioned was perfect! Food: Seafood Rosé Pasta (bay scallops, shrimp, northwest manila clams, rosé prosecco cream sauce, grilled bread) -- inconsistent cook on the different seafoods & the sauce was meh. Not worth $42.00 Grilled Romaine Salad (white balsamic bleu cheese dressing, gorgonzola, cherry tomatoes, aleppo toasted hazelnuts) -- plenty of romaine, could've been grilled longer / not much quantity of tomatoes or toasted hazelnuts -- basically a "side salad" for $15.00 Lobster Bisque (house smoked tomatoes, roasted red pepper, cream, butter poached langoustine lobster) -- tasted more like roasted tomato / red pepper soup (no lobster or seafood flavors) - there were 4 small pieces of poached?? langoustine lobster on top - I question poached because the pieces definitely had a bite to them. Worth $15.00 -- no. Due to reviews we had the Baklava Crumble (pistachios, honey, vanilla ice cream) -- basically cut up (very chewy, not crispy) baklava tossed over ice cream for $14.00 -- maybe a bad night for this dessert? We like to support small Olympia businesses and will go back for cocktails but the food costs are too high - we don't mind high costs IF we come away satisfied - unfortunately the food didn't measure up to the cost. As we drove away, we saw the "Budd Bay Cafe" was very busy - I think next time we'll have cocktails at Cynara, then cross the street for food and wine. We were intrigued with the "Clam Chowder Entrée" which is served à la minute (Washington manila clams, bacon, cream, celery, roasted potatoes, grilled bread) -- is it a deconstructed chowder?? $33.00 Sorry no pics.
